Welcome to Nemaha County

A proud member of the Genealogy Trails Family

This county site is up for adoption.

We regret that we are unable to perform personal research.

The county seat for Nemeha county is Auburn.
The county was known during the early years of the Territorial
organization of Nebraska as Forney County.

At the first regular session of the Territorial Legislature,
its name was changed to the name that it bears today.

Nemaha is one of the most important counties of the state,
ranking among the first in wealth and population.

It is one of the eastern border counties, and its excellent
railroad and water facilities, in addition to its pleasant
climate and richsoil, make it one of the most desirable parts
    of the state for settlement.
