Welcome to Nevada Genealogy Trails!

Hello and Welcome to the Genealogy Trails website.
I am Don Tharp, your host for the State of Nevada!

Our goal? To transcribe and post genealogical data, all FREE of charge, so researchers can find their families anywhere in the United States. You, too, can be of help in this endeavor. If you have material for any of the counties that you would wish to share with others, please send it to the county host or the state host. It will certainly be appreciated.

If you have one or a few headstone listings for any Nevada County we would love to post them on our cemetery pages - you may use our Cemetery Records form. If you have a large number of entries or a complete cemetery, please email me direct for instructions. Also, please contact me with any corrections you might have. Don Tharp - detict@cox.net.

We also have a form for obituaries, click here, to submit obituaries.

Several of the counties are available for adoption and need a host to make them the best that they can be!

If you think that you may be interested in volunteering to host a county or state please click here to read about what that means.

Contact Kim or Don if you are interested in volunteering or have data to share.

We do regret that we are unable to perform personal research.
However, we will be adding data to these sites as we get it transcribed or as it is submitted.

In 1854 this area was admitted to the Utah Territory
On March 2, 1861 the Territory of Nevada was established. That was when the name Nevada was adopted.
Nevada is a Spanish word meaning “snow-capped.”
October 31, 1864 Nevada was admitted as the 36th State.
The State Capital is Carson City.
