Probate of Will - Phillip Wickland
Petition has been filed for probate of the will and estate of Phillip Wickland, the passenger engineer who died at Battle Mountain some time ago. The hearing will be had before Judge Curler on the 10th day of March. The estate is valued at about $40,000.

LH Bowers has discovered a coal mine in Lander county, Nevada. The mine is situated fifteen miles south of Battle Mountain, and only fifteen miles from the line of the Central Pacific Railroad. Mr. Bowers claims to have two veins of stone coal, each three feet in width, divided by a sandstone wall, one foot wide. The vein has a dip of twenty degrees.
