To reach the cemetery from Silver Springs, drive south on Hwy 95A for 8 miles. Turn right onto Churchill Road and continue to Fort Churchill Park. The cemetery will be on the north side of the road after you turn into the park, north of the museum.

Fort Churchill was established in 1861 but was abandoned in 1869. In 1869, the land and buildings were sold in a auction to Samuel Buckland for $750. In 1884, the remains of 44 soldiers buried in the post cemetery were moved to Carson City. The remaining graves are those of the Buckland family.

Fort Churchill has been a Nevada state park since 1957. The cemetery, which hasn't been used since 1884, is in good condition.
