Carson City

Available for Adopton
An independent city. It was orginally part of Ormsby County.
In 1969 Ormsby County was merged into Carson City.

Churchill

Available for Adopton
One of the original counties formed in 1861. Fallon is the county seat.

Clark

Available for Adopton
Formed in 1909 from part of Lincoln County with Las Vegas as the county seat

Douglas

Available for Adopton
An original county formed in 1861 and Menden is the county seat.

Elko

Available for Adopton
Formed in 1869 from part of Lander County. Elko is the county seat.

Esmeralda

Available for Adopton
Another of the original counties formed in 1861 with Goldfield as the county seat.

Eureka

Available for Adopton
Formed in 1863 from part of Lander County. Eureka is the county seat.

Humboldt

Don is your Host.
Humboldt County is Nevada's oldest county, created by the Utah Territorial Legislature in 1856 and one of Nevada's original nine counties created in 1861. Winnemucca is the county seat of Humboldt county.

Lake

An original county formed in 1861. Later, the name was changed to Roop County. In 1864 portions became part of Lassen County, CA and portions became part of Washoe County, Nevada.

Lander

Available for Adopton
Formed in 1862 from parts of Churchill and Humboldt. Battle Mountain is the county seat.

Lincoln

Available for Adopton
Formed in 1866 from part of Nye County and from Arizona territory. Pioche is the county seat.

Lyon

Available for Adopton
Another of the original nine counties. Yerington is the county seat.

Mineral

Available for Adopton
Formed in 1911 from part of Esmeralda County with Hawthorne named the county seat.

Nye

Available for Adopton
Nye County ws part of Esmeralda County until 1864. Tonopah is the county seat.

Pershing

Don is your Host.
The youngest county in Nevada. It was formed in 1919 from part of Humboldt county. Lovelock is the county seat.

Storey

Available for Adopton
One of the original counties and Virginia City is the county seat.

Roop

No longer a Nevada county, see Lake county.

Washoe

Available for Adopton
Another of the original counties with Reno as the county seat.

White Pine

Available for Adopton
Formed from part of Lander County in 1869. Ely is the county seat.
