Dover, N.
H., Dec 18 – Edward Carl, an employe of the Cocheco Manufacturing
company, fell down an elevator well this morning and was killed.

George S. Chesley Durham - George S. Chesley, who lived on the
J.R. Chesley place, was killed by lightning Wednesday afternoon of last
week. He, with a son of Patrick Behan, were working in the field, and
went under a tree during a shower. Chesley sat with his back against the
trunk of the tree and the boy sat near enough to touch him.The fluid ran
down the tree and Chesley fell forward, and speaking a few words,
expired. That side of the boy next to him received a severe shock, but

Prescott At Concord, N.H.,
Oct. 18th, Dr. William Prescott died at his residence, after a lingering
illness, at the age of 87 years. He was a graduate of Dartmouth College,
had practiced medicine in Gilmanton, Lynn, Mass., and in Concord. He was
a prominent naturalist and scientist, and a member of various societies
throughout the country. During his life he made valuable

Tibbetts, aged 50, probably the largest man in America .
Notwithstanding his immense weight, which exceeded 450 lbs., he

market.
