Arkansas Junction, New Mexico

West from Hobbs, New  Mexico and at the junction of US 62-180 and NM Highway 203, you will find Arkansas Junction. The Junction was probably established in the late 1940's or early 1950's as workers traveled from Lovington, to build the the Natural Gas processing plants that were being constructed by Northern Natural Gas, El Paso Natural Gas and Warren Petroleum.

The local cafe, still draws a crowed during lunch, with 'CALL-IN" orders and oilfield personnel looking for a rest and a good meal, standing room only, is the Specialty of the day.
