GEARY
Coroner Horton held an inquest, on Friday, the 16th, at No. 47 Fulton street, upon the body of a child about one year old, the son of Francis and Mary Geary, which, from the evidence, it appeared had died of star vation and exposure. The family arrived in this country from Ireland in June, and took up their residence at Yonkers. They came to New York about the1st of July in the hope of fluding employment. Being unsuccessful they were compelled to seek food and shelter where they could find it. Some says since Mr. Gamble, residing at the above number, found them in from of his door. He provided them with food and shelter. The child being very sick soon died. The verdict of the coroner's jury was that it died  'of cholora morbus, produced evidently by want and exposure.' HADDOCK, JOHN A.
Capt. John A. Haddock, 35th regiment New York Volunteers, is dismissed the service for violation of the sovereignty of a friendly foreign State, in arresting Ebenezer Tyler, a deserter from the United States forces, and bringing him away from within the boundaries of Canada. HAYNE, CHARLES
Sudden deaths are alarmingly common. Not a day passes but we have to chronicle the frail tenure on which we hold life. Mr. Charles Hayne, the Ferry master of Hamilton Ferry, Brooklyn, dropped dead as he was tying his cravat in his residence at Gowanus. He had promised to take his wife to a ball, and had rather hurried in going home to his house. He was a Mason of long standing. [Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, 03/30/1861, Submitted by Candi]

KANE, DANIEL
A FATAL accident occurred last week at the Brooklyn Armory. A member of the Twenty-eighth Regiment was sitting on the window-sill in the third story; having had but little rest the night previous, he fell asleep and tumbled down upon the sidewalk. The force of the fall was so great that he was lite rally dashed to pieces. The body was taken to the Dispensary, where an inquest was held by Coroner Horton. The name of the deceased is supposed to be Daniel Kane, a member of Company C. He was about five feet seven inches in height, dark hair and dark complexion, one joint missing from the more finger of theright hand. A badge on his coat bore the words, “Constitution and the Union.” The body was taken to the dead-house for recognition. A verdict of accidentaldeath was rendered. [Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, 05/18/1861, Submitted by Candi]

KEYES, LARRY
Death of one of the Seventh Regiment.—A deplorable accident occurred at Camp Cameron on the 9th, resulting in the death of Larry Keyes, of the Seventh Regiment of New York. The deceased stooped to pick something up near a place where a number of guns had been stacked, and as he was in the act of rising the stack was accidentally struck and one gun exploded, the load taking effect in his body, killing him almost instantly. Col. Lefferts caused the remains to be placed in a metallic case for transmission to New York. He next day dispatched thither an officer to personally communicate intelligence of the sad event to the relatives of Mr. Keyes. Mr. Keyes was a salesman in the store of Pearce & Co., of Franklin street. He was in his twenty-seventh year, and much respected. He was married only two days before he left New York.[Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, 05/18/1861, Submitted by Candi]
LOOSEY, JOHN J.
An inquest was held by Corner Jackman, at 135 Washington street, in the case of John J. Loosey, a native of this city, eighteen years of age, whose body was found in the water near Fort Washingon, on Saturday last. It appeared in evidence that the deceased, on Monday last, accompanied the Coughland Guard on an excursion up the North river in the steamer Thomas Hunt. A barge was in tow of the steamer, and about one hundred feet distant from it, and, when near Fort Richmond, Roosey said he would jump over the steamer's stern and swim to the barge.  He accordingly sprang into the water and almost immediately sunk. Every effort was made to rescue him, but he was never seen again alive. The coroner's jury rendered a verdict in accordance with the facts. [New York Illustrated News, 08/26/1861, Submitted by Candi]

RINGGOLD
Col. Ringgold of the 103d New York Volunteers, killed on the 3d of May at Suffolk, while gallantlyleading his regiment, after lying in state at the City Hall for two days, was buried with funeral honors on the 13th of May. His remains were escorted to Greenwood by the New York Hussars, the 5th regiment,N. Y. N. G. and Hawkins's Zouaves. [Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, 05/30/1863, Submitted by Candi]

TRAINOR, ANN
Ann Trainor, who was so seriously injured in the Orange street fire, Brooklyn, died at the hospital on the 16th. There were evidences of improvement the evening previous, but during the night she failed rapidly, and breathed her last about nine o'clock the following day. Coroner Horton held an inquest upon the body. The verdict of the jury was that she died from congestion of the lungs, caused by inhaling smoke. The funeral took place yesterday from her Father's residence. A large concourse followed the body to its last resting place. The room-mate of the deceased, Miss Susan Ann Wilson, it will be remembered, was killed by jumping out of the fifth storey window. The engineer of the hoop-skirt factory, Mr. Geo. Albrecht, who was arrested on suspicion of causing the fire, was discharged by the coroner, there being nothing whatever upon which such a charge could be based. It was a most cruel and needless arrest, there not being the slightest shade of suspicion against him. It seems very clear until we have Mackenzie's Fire-Escape fitted upon every tenement-house there can be no security for life. [Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, 03/30/1861, Submitted by Candi]
