HADDOCK, John A.
Capt. John A. Haddock, 35th regiment New York Volunteers, is dismissed the service for violation of the sovereignty of a friendly foreign State, in arresting Ebenezer Tyler, a deserter from the United States forces, and bringing him away from within the boundaries of Canada. In Brooklyn, on Sunday, Sept. 27, V. R. Hall, boatswain United States Navy, aged 63 years. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, this (Monday) afternoon, at 3 o'clock, from his late residence, No. 214 Gold st., Brooklyn. HALSTEAD, Rachael
In this City, on Friday morning, at No. 20 6th av., Mrs. Rachael Halstead, in the 69th year of her age. The friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend her funeral, on Sunday, 20th at 1 1/2 o'clock p.m. from the Memorial Church, corner of Hammond st and Waverley place. In this City, on Sunday morning, Sept. 27, William H. Hammill, son of the late Rev. Wm. Hammill, aged 65 years and 3 days. His relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral, on Tuesday morning, Sept. 29, at 9 1/2 o'clock, from his late residence, No. 181 Duane st. New York Times, Sept. 29, 1857. HAYNE, Charles
Sudden deaths are alarmingly common. Not a day passes but we have to chronicle the frail tenure on which we hold life. Mr. Charles Hayne, the Ferry master of Hamilton Ferry, Brooklyn, dropped dead as he was tying his cravat in his residence at Gowanus. He had promised to take his wife to a ball, and had rather hurried in going home to his house. He was a Mason of long standing. In this City, on Wednesday morning, Sept. 23, after a lingering illness, George Hermance, aged 43 years. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, on Friday, at 2 o'clock p.m., from his late residence, No. 75 Beckman st. New York Times, Sept. 24, 1857. In this City, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, Henry Howard, late of the firm of Howard, Keeler & Scotield, in the 77th year of his age. The friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend his funeral, from the New Jerusalem Church, in 11th st, between 3d and 4th avs., on Friday afternoon, at 3 o'clock. HUFF, Lany
In this City, on Saturday morning, Sept. 26, of congestion of the lungs Mrs. Lany Huff, widow of Alexander Huff, aged 74 years, 9 months and 23 days. Her friends and acquaintances, and also of the family, are respectfully invited to attend her funeral services at the North Baptist Church, corner of Bedford and Christopher sts. this (Monday) evening, at 7 1/2 o'clock.
