William Osborne was born in the
city of Schenectady, Oct. 12, 1859, and was educated in the
Union school of his native place. He then learned the
trade of painter, at which he was engaged for twenty years.
He then went into the hotel business at Rotterdam Junction.
On December1, 1901, he came to Schenectady, and is now engaged
in business at No. 305 State street.
On Dec. 20, 1878, William Osborne married Angelica
Veeder, who died Dec. 31, 1899, leaving two children. Mr.
Osborne's parents were William and Hannah (Johnson) Osborne.
In politics Mr. Osborne is a Democrat and has many friends not
only in his party, but throughout the county. He has held
the office of school commissioner and has served on the county
committee for the Democratic party for fifteen years. |
