Pursuant to
the directions of the act, entitled "An act for the assessment and collection of
taxes." passed 8th April, 1801, the act, entitled "An act to ammend the act,
entitled "An act for the assessment and collection of taxes," passed 5th April,
1802, and the act, entitled "An act supplementary to the act for the assessment
and collection of taxes," passed April the 9th, 1804, Notice is hereby
given, that the following taxes of the year 1809 charged on real estates in
the several towns in this state herein after specified remain unpaid, and the
persons from whom the same are due, are respectively required, within six months
from the third Tuesday of July instant, to pay the same to the treasurer of this
state, with the interest thereon from the first day of May last, at the rate of
fourteen per cent per annum, together with the sum of twenty-five cents on each
tax, towards defraying the expense of publication; and that if default shall be
made in the payment of the said tax, interest and charge of advertising, for the
space of two years from and after the time limited in this notice, so much of
the land charged with the said tax, interest and charges will be liable to be
sold at public vendue as shall be necessary to pay the same, together with the
charges of such sale.
