Thursday, January 1, 1910-At noon today, B.F. Thomas, a venerable citizen who was formerly connected with the Thos. R. Jones and Son hardware establishment, passed away at his home on north Cole street, his death terminating a long illness from which he recently rallied, the death coming somewhat suddenly and as a severe shock to the members of the family and other friends. The deceased was 61 years of age and is survived by his wife, and three sons and one daughter. He was a splendid citizen, a deacon in the First Congregational church and a constant Christian of his faith. The funeral will be held from the bereaved home Saturday morning and interment will be made in the cemetery at Gomer.

Wednesday, January 12, 1910- Rosetta Evaline Blair, age 50, wife of W.F. Blair of 316 Harrison avenue, died yesterday. She had been ill with pneumonia but five days and the sudden death was a severe shock to the three sons, and two daughters, who are left behind to mourn her loss.The children are L.C. Blair, Lima; C.O. Blair, Wapakoneta; Mrs. N.E. Neufer, Lima, Harry O. and Leah Blair, who resided at home with the parents. Funeral services have not yet been arranged.

Thursday, January 13, 1910- Mrs. Clara Bennett, age 46, wife of E.B. Bennett, died at their home, 133 1/2 North Union street, a few minutes past 11 o'clock last night, after suffering with kidney trouble and complications for four months. She leaves a husband and one daughter, Mrs. F.A. Curtis, of Lima, to mourn her demise. Funeral services will be held in Forest, O. The exact date will be announced later.

Friday, January 21, 1910- John Henry Kersker, formerly a popular locomotive engineer of the C.H. & D road, died quite suddenly this morning about 4 o'clock, his fatal illness being of brief duration. Shortly after 9 o'clock Thursday night he became seriously ill and death relieved his sufferings a few hours later. The remains of the deceased have been taken to the home of relatives and the funeral will be held from St. Rose church Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in Gethsemani cemetery.

Friday, January 21, 1910- Appendicitis, an operation for which came too late to save his life, caused the death of George Hager, of Spencerville at the Lima Hospital Thursday. Deceased was a veteran of the Civil War and was one of the most active men in public affairs in Spencer township. He leaves a widow and four children, Louis Neff of this city being a nephew. Funeral services will be held in Spencerville, the body being shipped there last evening.

Sunday, January 23, 1910- Henry Young, age 91, of 119 Park avenue passed away at 5 o'clock after an illness of fifteen weeks. Death was due to infirmities and old age. Deceased was born in Pennsylvania, Dec 18, 1818 and was for a number of years a popular retired farmer of Allen County. He leaves a widow, five sons and three daughters to mourn his loss. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 24, in Mencer and interment made in Mencer cemetery. Rev. Woodruff will officiate.

Thursday, March 3, 1910- Mrs. Sarah a. Tabler of 417 North Charles street, quietly passed away at her home yesterday morning, following a sudden stroke of paralysis. Deceased was born in Perry township in 1841 and was the oldest child of the late Emanuel Fisher and Mrs. Fisher who survives her daughter at the advanced age of 88. In 1861 the deceased moved with her parents to Lafayette and married John Tabler, who the same enlisted in the 46th Ohio Infantry and died in camp after the battle of Shiloh, as a result of a wound, received during the battle. Since 1878 Mrs. Table and her daughter Rose A., who survives her mother, have made their home with Mrs. Tabler's parents in this city. Deceased has always been a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran church and her sudden demise comes as a shock to her many friends in the congregation. Besides the surviving members of the family mentioned above, four brothers and two sisters mourn the demise of  a loving and tender sister, names Messers James, David and Thomas of this city and William Fisher of Huntington, Indiana, Mrs. Emanuel Stombaugh and Mrs. J.E. Conrad of Lima. Funeral services will be held from the residence Friday afternoon at 1:30 and interment will be made in Woodlawn cemetery. Rev. Cooper will conduct the services.

Thursday, June 2, 1910- Weakened by the infirmities of old age, John Higginbotham, an esteemed and resppected resident of the North Side died at the family home at 513 north West street, at 6:45 Thursday morning. For the past year or more Mr. Higginbotham has been in declining health and he has been compelled to give up active duties, For the past five weeks his condition has been regarded as serious, and Thursday morning life left the enfeebled body and returned to God who gave it. Mr. Higginbotham was born in Inver, Donegal county, Ireland on May 1, 1838. When a young he came to this country and for the past twenty-three years he has been a resident of Lima, Previous to coming to this city, Mr. Higginbotham was a resident of Oleans, N.Y. A widow and seven children are left to mourn. The children are Sister Eugenia, of Dunkirk, N.Y., R.P. Higginbotham of Van Buren, Ind., Rev. Father James H. Higginbotham of west Toledo, Frances A. Higginbotham, of Corsicana, Tex., Mrs. William J. O'Day, Miss Anna H. Higginbotham and Miss Agnes Higginbotham of Lima. No other near relatives survive. Funeral services will be held at St. Rose church, beneath whose shadow the deceased had lived for many years, Monday morning at 10 o'clock. The Rev. James H. Higginbotham will have charge of the obsequies. Interment will be in Gethsemani.

Thursday, June 6, 1910- A short illness from pneumonia terminated in the death of David Gallagher, a well known employee of the Solar Refinery, at his home on north Union street, Wednesday. The deceased was just 38 years of age and was in the prime of active vigorous manhood when attached by the disease. Gallagher is survived by an aged mother, Mrs. Edward Gallagher, one brother William and three sisters, Ellen, Catherine and May. Funeral services will be held at St. Rose church, Saturday morning at 8:30. Interment at Gethsemani.

Thursday, June 23, 1910- Mr. Washington Carr, an old pioneer of Lima and well known throughout the county died at his home, 923 St. Johns avenue, Wednesday afternoon at 3:20 o'clock, after suffering for the past 6 months with a complication of diseases. The deceased was born at Wheeling, W. Va., May 9, 1834, being nearly 78 years old at the time of death. He was interested in local real estate and was a large property owner, one time owning many lots on east North street, including the block at the rear of the Norval hotel and other adjoining properties. The deceased leaves a wife and grandson, Roy Carr, of Marion, Indiana to mourn his death, all the other close relatives of the family being dead. The funeral will be held from the U.B. church, Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Webb, with interment at the Woodlawn cemetery.

July 5, 1910 Tuesday- Joseph F. Geiger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Geiger, died today at 12:30 o'clock at the residence of the parents, 138 east Eureka street. The little fellow who was only two years old had been sick just five days with summer complaint. The funeral services will be held at the residence at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. Schwertner. Interment at Gethsemani cemetery.

July 5, 1910 Tuesday- Little Anna Mechling, one year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mechling, passed away at 11:45 o'clock Sunday, after an illness of six weeks from pneumonia. The child was but one year, five months, and sixteen days old, and had suffered from the disease, which finally removed her from this world for over two months. The funeral services, were held from the residence at 123 east Third street, this morning at 10 o'clock with interment at Woodlawn cemetery.

July 5, 1910, Tuesday- The dreaded tubercular disease claimed another victim, Monday when Henrietta Newhorton, passed away after an illness of seven months. The end came at 6:20 o'clock at the deceased's home at 749 north Jefferson street. The deceased was born January 23, 1862 in Greene county, Ohio, was the daughter of Charles and Kydia Baker, and was 47 years of age. The deceased leaves a husband, and two sons and two daughters to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and mother. She leaves a host of friends who deeply regret the loss of a woman of such sterling qualities. The funeral services will be held at the Market street Presbyterian church next Wednesday at two o'clock, and the services will be conducted by Rev. D. H. Jones. Interment will be made at Woodlawn cemetery
