Delphos
James R. Harter, 80,
veterinary surgeon, in this community, died late Friday night in the
home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Point, W. Clime-st, where he had made
his home. About a year ago Dr. Harter fell and fractured his hip and
never entirely recovered from its effects. Paul Harter, senior member
of the undertaking firm of Harter and Brenneman, undertakers, is a son.
Born in Hartford, near here, he lived in and near Delphos, all his life
where he was widely-known, his practice as a veterinarian bringing him
in touch with many. Besides his two children here, he leaves another
son, H. H. Harter, of Toledo. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Monday in Delphos United Brethren church. Burial in Walnut Grove
cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete
for Russell Jackson, 43, of N. Union-st, who died at 10 p.m.
Thursday at City hospital after 10 days' illness of peritonitis. He is
survived by his widow; five children, Mrs. Virginia Payne of Chicago,
Stanley, Geneva, Audrey and Alfreda, at home; four brothers, Willis of
Cleveland, and Charles, Cooper and Garland, of mt. Vernon; and a
sister, Mrs. Florence Highwarden of Mt. Vernon.

Joseph Wingate, 72,
retired farmer, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday at his home in Jackson-tp,
where he was born and spent his entire life. Death followed a long
illness. He is survived by a son, Carl, at home; two daughters, Mrs. M.
E. Cotner of Lima and Mrs. Walter Arnold of near Lima; and five
grandchildren. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen lodge at
Beaverdam. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the West Point
church, near his home, with the Rev. John Horst of Lafayette
officiating.

Bluffton
Funeral services for Milo
Basinger, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Basinger, who died at the
Bluffton hospital Wednesday night of appendicitis, will be held at the
home Saturday at 12:30 p.m., and at the Ebenezer church at 1 p.m..
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Basinger was a freshman in
Bluffton high school.

The body of Donald W.
Baker, 29, of Lakewood-av, who was killed when the automobile in
which he was riding left the Dixie-hy and crashed into a telephone pole
three miles north of Wapakoneta Friday night, will remain at the Davis,
Miller and Son chapel, it was announced Saturday night. Baker died of a
broken neck and internal injuries. Funeral services will be conducted
from the chapel. The Rev. Thomas Roberts will officiate. Burial will be
in Woodlawn cemetery.

Delphos
Benjamin D. Myers,
lifelong resident of Allen-co, died at his home east of here on his
73rd birthday, from old age infirmities. His wife died three months
ago. He leaves two sons, Jesse S and Charles E, both of Marion-tp.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Morris Chapel church.
Rev. E. C. Walley, of Elida, officiated. Interment was made in Walnut
Grove cemetery.

Word has been received by
relatives of the death in Indianapolis of Edmund Evans, former
Gomer resident. The body was to be removed Wednesday to the home of his
sister, Mrs. Ellen J. Humphreys, where funeral services will be held
Thursday at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. C. C.A. Ryan. Funeral
arrangements are in charge of Humphreys, of Columbus Grove. Burial will
be in Carmen cemetery.

Funeral service for Mrs.
Clara M. Roberts, who died in St. Vincent's hospital, Toledo, at 1 a.m.
Tuesday, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Huffer funeral home
here. A Christian Science reading will be held. Burial will be in
Memorial Park cemetery. The body will arrive at the Huffer funeral home
from Toledo at 12 noon Wednesday. Mrs. Roberts who was well known in
Lima as a dressmaker and tailor, had lived here all her life until
three years ago, when she moved to Toledo to live with her daughter,
Miss Esther Roberts. She was the widow of Will H. Roberts, a former
Lima grocer. Three daughters are surviving.

Margaret Hixenbaugh, 71 years old,
wife of Adam Hixenbaugh, No. 748 south Atlantic avenue, died at her
residence last night at 10 o'clock. She had been ill since Christmas.
Mrs. Hixenbaugh was born in Knox county and was the daughter of
Zachariar White. She came to Lima with her husband and family 21
years ago. Besides her husband six children survive: William, Edward,
George and S. E., of Lima; Oscar, Pittsburg; and Mrs. Ida Smith, Lima.
The funeral will be held from Grace M. E. church, the pastor
officiating. Interment in Woodlawn cemetery.

Funeral services were conducted at the home of H. K. Fredericks, on west Elm
street, yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock over the remains of Mr.
Fredericks aged mother woh died Monday night. The services were
conducted by Rev. M. B. Fuller, pastor of Trinity M. E. church. The
floral offerings from friends of the deceased and bereaved relatives
were profuse and beautiful. The friends who served as pall bearers were
Messrs. H. S. Prophet, W. b. Ritchie, I. N. Pangle, R. M. Hughes, Harri
Jones and Jas. E. Sullivan. The remains were consigned to a final
resting place in Woodlawn cemetery.

John Neirengarten,
a resident of the west side, died at his late home, 712 west Elm street
at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon, leaving his wife and six children to
mourn the death of husband and father.The funeral services will be
held Wednesday morning at 8:30 o'clock at St. John's church, and
interment will be in Gethsemani cemetery. The sons and daughters
surviving are Messrs. Carl and Leo and Misses Clara and Louise
Neirengarten of this city, Mrs. Tony Soreman of St. Marys; and
Mrs. James Murphy of Lima.

Richardson, 67, of Route 2, Ada (Allen County) died Monday
afternoon in Lima Memorial Hospital following a heart
attack.Born Feb. 28, 1888, in Auglaize County to George and
Jennie (Elliot) Richardson, he was married May 28,1913, to
Ethel Foulk, who survives. Also surviving are two
grandchildren. A son is deceased.
Mr
Richardson was a veteran of World War I and was a member of
the Ada Church of Christ.
Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Preston
Funeral Home, Ada, with Rev. Lee Moore officiating. Burial
will be in Lima Memorial Park Cemetery. The body is at the
funeral home where friends may call.

Ralph B. Richardson, 27,
of Harrod Route 1, died at 2:30 p.m.
Monday in Memorial hospital following an illness of
four months.Surviving are his widow, Betty Mae, a daughter,
Carole Sue; and a son, Ralph Randall, all at home; his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Richardson, Jackson -tp.The body
will remain at the Siferd funeral home until final rites at 2
p.m. Thursday in the South Side Church of Christ with Rev, E.J.
Penhorwood officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs Anna E. Foulk,
68, of 909 E.
Second St., died Thursday night in the home of her daughter,
Mrs.L.D.Richardson, 1012 E. Fourth St. where she was visiting.
Her husband, James, died
several months ago.
Mrs Foulk had been a
resident of Lima 18 years, surviving are two other daughters,
Mrs Esther Matthews, Of Lima, and Mrs. Mildred Sears, of
Oakland,Calif.; two sons, Ray and Gordon, Of Lima; two
sisters, Mrs. Mary Forsythe, of Ridgewood, and Mrs. Ira Bean,
of DeGraff, and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held
Friday at 2 p.m. in the Church of God with the Rev. W. Dale
Oldham officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
The body will be taken to the home of Mrs. Richardson late
Wednesday afternoon.

Funeral services for Lucille
May Maxine Kline, 7, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawnee Kline,
Perry-tp, who died Thursday afternoon at the home from diphtheria, were
to be held at 2 p.m., Friday at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Mechling, Perry-tp. The Rev. G. C. Johnson will officiate.
Burial will be in Fletcher cemetery. She is survived by her parents and
two brothers, Lawnee Jr., and Belno, both at home.

Funeral arrangements were
being made Saturday for Earl Daniel Etling, 38, world
war veteran and Lima furniture merchant, who died early Friday night at
his home, 567 W. Elm-st. Death was caused by cerebral hemorrhage. He
had been ill only one day, and his condition was not believed serious.
He is survived by his father, D. H. Etling, and a sister, Miss Julis
Etling. He was manager of the D. h. Etling furniture store. Etling
enlisted in Company C, of the second Infantry regiment, Ohio National
Guard, before the World war. When the national guard companies were
federalized for World war service, he enlisted in Company M, of the
145th regiment, 37th Ohio Division. Later, he served overseas in
Company B, of the 41st Engineers. His service in Europe extended from
Feb. 25, 1918 to July 4, 1919. He was a member of William Paul
Gallagher American Legion Post and the Forty and Eight society of the
Legion. In 1928, he Accompanied the American Legion to its annual
convention held in Paris.

Spencerville
William Davis, 66,
farmer, ended his life late Thursday by hanging himself in a shed on
his brother's farm one mile south of Spencerville. The body was
discovered by his brother Charles after a search had been started when
the deceased failed to come to his home, adjoining his brother's farm,
for dinner. The body was found at 5 p.m. Davis had been ill for more
than a year. Surviving are his widow, three sons, Paul of Okeman,
Okla., Carl of Akron, and Clyde of Borger, Tex, and a daughter Julia at
home. A sister and brother also survive. Funeral services have not been
made.

Mrs. George (Mary)
Reddersen, 33, of 1004 N. West-st, died of complications in
Memorial hospital at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday following an illness of 12 days.
She had been admitted in the hospital at 2 p.m. Tuesday. She was born
in Allen-co and had lived all her life in the Lima district. Surviving
besides her husband are one daughter, Marilyn at home, and four
brothers, Riley and George Thompson, of Mt. Gilead, O., Roy Thompson of
Toledo, and Tollie Thompson of Spencerville. Funeral services will be
held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Davis-Miller and Son Cathedral chapel,
with Rev. John Berger in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Park
cemetery. The body will remain at the mortuary.

A two-day illness ended in
death early Thursday for Mrs. Margaret Alice Zimmerman, 79,
widow of Henry Zimmerman, a former Lima restaurant proprietor who died
39 years ago. Mrs. Zimmerman resided with her daughter, Mrs. Carl
Means, at 855 W. Marker-st and passed away at 2 p.m. Thursday. A heart
attack was given as the immediate cause of death. She was born at
Dayton and is survived besides Mrs. Means, by a sister, Mrs. Hattie
Lenhard, Baton Rouge, La., and several nieces and nephews. She was a
sister of Harry Thomas, recently deceased Lima grocer and Elmer Thomas,
a member of the former Thomas and Evans Hardware firm. Rites will be
from the residence of her daughter at 2 p.m. Saturday in charge of Rev.
Rueben Schroer, pastor of the First Evangelical Reformed church of
which she was a lifelong member. Burial in Woodlawn cemetery.

Word has been received in this city today of the death of Mrs. J. L.
McDonald, 46, at St. Vincent hospital. On March 14 while
lighting a gas
stove, Mrs. McDonald dropped the match into a pile of papers. Her
clothing caught fire and she was terribly burned. She lingered between
life and death at the hospital last evening, when she passed away. Mrs.
McDonald was a native of Lima and well known here. She is survived by
the bereaved husband and two sons, John of this city, and Leonard, of
Cleveland; a brother, J. C. Clifford, conductor on the C. H. & D.,
and a father, Cornelius Clifford of Toledo. The body will arrive in
this city at 9:30 Friday morning and will be taken to the home of Mrs.
Scott Watkins, 832 north Union street. Funeral services will be held at
St. Rose's Catholic church at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. |

who died Tuesday at St. Augustine, Fla., will arrive here at 4 o'clock
Saturday afternoon over the C. H. & D. The body will be accompanied
by Mrs. Parham, Miss Bina Parham, a sister, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Parham, of Ft. Wayne, Ind. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday
from the home No. 714 W. North street, the Rev. M. B. Fuller, of the

Mrs. Margaret
A. Wickham, aged 58 years, a widow and former resident of the
south side, died suddenly at her late home, 219 south West street, at
4:30 o'clock this morning, her death being due to heart trouble, from
which ailment she had been a sufferer for some time. Last January, mrs.
Wickham was overcome by coal gas and was taken to the hospital in an
unconscious condition. She never fully recovered from the shock
occasioned by this experience. among the surviving relatives are two
grand-daughters with whom she made her home.

Pettiford, aged 46 years, colored, died at his late home on east
High street, yesterday afternoon, death resulting from a long illness.
The deceased was 46 years of age and he leaves a wife. The funeral will
be held from the A.M. E. church at 2 o'clock tomorrow, with the pastor,
Rev. Mr. Young officiating, assisted by Rev. Mr. Jordan, of the Second
Baptist church. Interment in Woodlawn cemetery.

James B. Jewett,
aged 74 years, died very suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
Edward Foster, No. 1332 Lakewood avenue yesterday, death being caused
by a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Jewett had spent many years in the employ
of the C. H. and D. R. R., here where he was a storekeeper. He had been
in his usual good health for the past few weeks. Mr. Jewett retired
from active life several years ago and spent most of his time in his
old home at Cadiz, O. Surviving his death are his wife, two daughters
and three sons. The daughters are Mrs.Edward Foster at whose home he
died and mrs. James Ewing of Omaha, Neb. The sons are Thomas of
Cleveland; James of Riverton, Wyo.; and Maurice of Cleveland. Funeral
arrangements have not been completed.
