Mrs. Ellen M. Pierson, 73, died of paralysis at 7 p.m., Friday at her home at 537 n. Cole-st, after an illness of only 20 hours. She was born in Allen-co and lived near Elida until a few years ago. she was the widow of William T. Pierson, and is survived by a daughter, Miss Eva K. Pierson, at home, and a son, Ira B. Pierson, of Lima. A brother Joseph Riley, lives in Chino, Calif. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the residence. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery.

Thomas O. Morgan, 78, lifelong resident of this vicinity, died Monday at his home of a cerebral hemorrhage. A native of Gomer. Morgan is survived by a son John, of Gomer; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Whiteus and Miss Dollie Morgan both of Lima; Mrs. Ida Beck of Detroit; Mrs. Dorothy Jones of Columbus Grove and mrs. Bess Rager, of Gomer, a brother William of Gomer; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Congregational Christian church here with Rev. Clarence J. Bradbury, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Tawelfan cemetery. The body will be removed from the Jones funeral home, McComb, to the residence in Gomer to remain until time of services.

Private funeral of Rufus Schaublin, 45, of Lima, who died Friday morning in St. Rita's hospital, were held Saturday afternoon at the Davis-Miller and Son mortuary. The Rev. Rebuen J. Schroer was in charge. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery. Schaublin, carpenter contractor, was a member of the First Evangelical Reformed church.

Israel J. Clarke, 85, of Perry-tp, died Sunday night at his home following a lingering illness. The only survivor is the widow, Rana.

Funeral services will be held at the home at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. E.J. Penhorwood officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery with the Siferd funeral home in charge.

Kenneth W. Phillips, 78, formerly of 845 N. Metcalf St., died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday in Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville.
Born Dec. 8, 1900, in Marion Township, Allen County, he was the son of Charles and Myrtle E (Alspaugh) Phillips.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War II. He was a retired employee of Clark Equipment Co.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Joseph Clapper, 66, long time Allen-co resident died at 1 a.m. Monday in her home. She was born southeast of Delphos, but had resided in Allen-co all her life. Mrs. Clapper was a member of the Elida United Brethren church. Surviving are her husband and two brothers William Neely, of near Delphos, and Frank Neely, of Spencerville.Last rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Elida United Brethren church. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery. The body has been taken from the Paul Harter mortuary to the residence.

John E. Roberson, 82, a retired carpenter, died Sunday at his home, after an illness of six months.He is survived by three sons, Raymond and O.D. of Detroit, and H.C. with whom he resided, and a daughter, Mrs. Cora Donor of College Corner.The body was removed Sunday from the Davis, Miller and Son funeral to a funeral home in College Corner, where services will be held. Burial will be in Bath-tp, Franklin-co, Ind.

Marion Goodwin, 86, retired grocer, died at 8 a.m. Saturday at his home after a week's illness. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Fern Goodwin, at home, and Mrs. Harold Fisher of Lima, and a half sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Roller of Elgin and a grandchild.The body will be removed Saturday afternoon from the David Miller and Son funeral home to the residence, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Rev. E.J.A. St. Louis, pastor of the Grace Methodist church, of which he was a member, will officiate. Burial in Woodlawn cemetery.

Clarence E. Roof, 70, of Allentown, died Thursday afternoon at his residence where he had been ill since suffering a stroke 18 days ago. He had been a resident of Allen-co 35 years, and was a member of the Modern Woodmen and the Epworth Methodist church. Mr. Roof is survived by his wife, Molly; a son William H.  of Lima; a brother Albert of Anderson, Ind. two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at 625 Madison-av, with Rev. James Shady officiating. Burial in Memorial Park cemetery.

William Ferguson, 56, of Lima, Allen-co farmer for the last seven years, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at his home. He is survived by his wife Mattie; two sisters, Mrs. Ella McKenzie of Lakeview, Iowa, and Mrs. Etta Cunningham of Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at the Lewis funeral home with Rev. John L. White, of the Epworth Methodist church officiating. Burial in Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs. Teresa Faga, 59, widely known Lima resident, died at her home, after an illness of four months. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic church and had been a resident of Lima for 22 years.Surviving are her husband, Frank; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Santaguida of Lima; five grandchildren, a brother and sister in her native Italy.Requiem high mass will be selebrated at St. John church Monday morning at a time to be announced. Rev. Albert A. Fate, pastor, will conduct the rites. Burial in Gethsemani cemetery.

Harmon Winkle, elderly Harrod resident, was found dead in his home by Lorenzo Morris and W.D. Carey, neighbors. Coroner Harry Lewis said he apparently died of a heart attack early in the day while fixing the fire.The coroner said the body was found by the stove and altho the fire was out, one side of Mr. Winkle's face was seared.Coroner Lewis removed the body to the Lewis funeral home pending arrangements of final rites.The man had no known close relatives.

Final rites for Charles M. Contris, 50, of Lafayette, widely known stock buyer who died Sunday in Memorial hospital, were to be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Christian church, Lafayette. Rev. A. J. Black, Methodist pastor and Rev. J.C. Guthrie of the Church of the Brethren, were to conduct the rites. Burial will be in Lafayette cemetery.

Bert Cloore, 71, retired farmer who resided northwest of Lafayette was found dead in bed Tuesday morning, following a heart attack. Surviving is his widow, Louise; two daughters, Mrs. Fay Holder of Compton, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Robinolt of Toledo; one sister, Mrs. Belle Heath of Lafayette and one grandchild. He was a member of the Lafayette Christian church and the Lima Borrowed Time club. He had been a lifelong resident of the Lafayette area. Body will be removed from the Lantz and Sousley funeral home in Ada to the family home Wednesday noon Funeral services will be in the Lafayette Christian church, followed by burial in Lafayette cemetery.

Mrs. Bessie Frazier Simon, 59, of 301 N. Clark-st died at 12:08 p.m. Thursday in her home following an illness of 15 months. A resident of Lima for 35 years, she was born Aug. 15, 1880, in Nevada, O. Surviving are her husband, Adolph, one brother William Miller, of Coffeyville, Kas., one nephew, William Miller, Jr., Chicago, two nieces, Mrs. J. A. Keller and Miss Reva Miller both of Coffeyville. Rev. Charles H. Rasel will conduct services at 10 a.m. Monday in the Lewis Memorial chapel. Burial will be in Shawnee cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home until time of services.

Miss Carrie Todd, 67 of 113 1/2 E. North-st died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday in Memorial hospital following an illness of 10 days. Born in Lima, Miss Todd had lived in this vicinity all her life. She was a retired employee of the R .T. Gregg and Son department store, and a member of Trinity Methodist church. Surviving are two brothers, James of Aurora, Ill, and John of Columbus. Services will be held in the Davis Miller and Son Cathedral chapel at a time to be announced with Rev. J. Ira Jones, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home.

Funeral services for L .B. Miller, 81, who died at his home here Tuesday after an illness of six weeks, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Christian church in Harrod with Rev. Willard Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Salem cemetery with the Hanson funeral home in Alger in charge of arrangements. the body was to be removed from the funeral home to the residence at 1 p.m. Thursday Pallbearers will be Mark Leatherman,  Elza McClure, Burl Turner, Sam Burke, Clyde Hay and Rush White. Paul E. Miller, five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Miller, 804 S. Main-st, died of throat trouble at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at City hospital after an illness of four weeks. in addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Orville Jr., and Lenny; and three sisters, Dorothy, Kathryn and Maxine all at home. The funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Harry H. Grafton, 75, 523 Holmes- av, retired oil man, died at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday at his home following an illness since last October. Born in Cass-co, Mo., he had lived in Lima since he was 18 years of age and retired from the Solar Refinery after 25 years of service. He was a charter member of the local Moose lodge .Surviving are his widow, Ella; one son Donald Jack Wisher at home, two brothers James and Park both of Lima; one sister, Mrs. Nora Martin, Lima. The body will remain at the Davis Miller and Son funeral home for services at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the cathedral chapel with Rev. C. F. Fogle officiating. Burial in Shawnee cemetery.

Mrs. Nellie Larson, 85, of No.4 Rowland Row, died Sunday afternoon in St. Rita's hospital, following an extended illness. A native of Denmark, Mrs. Larson came to the United States nearly 65 years ago, and had lived in Lima for the past 35 years. Surviving are two sons, Lewis of Florida and Harry of Oceana, Va., two daughters, Mrs. Fred Smith of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Hattie Lindsey of Lima; five grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Lewis Memorial chapel with Rev. Willard Thomas, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mary Pickett, 82, died Sunday night at her home on Ewing ave. She was born in Ireland and came to America in childhood. She located in Lima, forty-two years ago and since that time has made her home with her nieces, Misses Mary and Margaret Burke. For the past nine years Mrs. Pickett has been an invalid. The two nieces have cared for her. They are her only surviving relatives. Requiem high mass will be celebrated at St. Rose Catholic church, Wednesday morning. Interment in Gethsemani cemetery.

Allentown

Late yesterday afternoon funeral directors William & Davis were called upon to care for the body of an infant child who had been fatally burned through the result of an accident that occurred four weeks ago in the hamlet of Allentown, four miles west of this city. The victim of the accident was Rebecca Pearl Bolender, aged one year eight months and fifteen days, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bolender, residents of Allentown. The little one suffered from the injuries received in the accident for four weeks and then succumbed, the death occurring at 4:30 Saturday afternoon. The funeral will be held Monday from the Radical United Brethren church in Allentown, the Rev. Mr. Johnson officiating, burial in Allentown cemetery.

George W. Murphy, nearly 86 years of age, and who had been a resident of this city for about 20 years, died at 7:15 o'clock Sunday evening, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ella Ellis, residing four miles east of the city on the Marion road. The aged man had been in failing health for a year and death was due to the infirmities if old age. He was born in Champaign county, Ohio, February 22, 1827, and lived to the age of 85 years, 11 months and 12 days. Surviving are two sons and three daughters, the former being Messrs. Freeman, of Buffalo, William, of Toledo; the daughters are Mrs. Burbank, Toledo; Mrs. C. E. Nutting, of Lima, and Ella Ellis at whose home he died. Burial in Woodlawn cemetery.

Mrs. Cordelia D. Pruitt, 75, widow of James Pruitt, deceased, died Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the  Lima hospital, her death being caused by general debility and old age. She had been ill for a period of four months. The remains have been taken to the home of letter carrier Clyde F. Williams, a nephew of the deceased. The funeral will be held Wednesday. Interment wil be made in the Bupp cemetery, near Cridersville. The deceased was born in Shawnee township, February 26, 1840, and for many years she resided at Cridersville before coming to Lima to make her home with a sister. She was taken to the city hospital on December 30. Her husband James, died about 30 years ago. She was a life member of the Christian church.

Hilda Lenore McKinney, of Route 2, died at 10 p. m. Thursday following a long illness. She was a member of the First Baptist church. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Anna McKinney, a brother, Richard, and a niece, Diana McKinney, all of Route 2; and another niece, Barbara Rhoades, of E. Eim-st. The body will remain at the Bowersock and Chiles funeral
home where services will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. Saturday by Rev. E. L: Gifford, of the First
Baptist church. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

Funeral services for John R. Jones, 74, of Columbus , who died Saturday night in Memorial hospital, will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday at the Gomer Congregational church. Rev. Leath, assisted by Rev. 0. J. Bradbury, will officiate and interment will be in Tawelsan cemetery, Gomer. Born in Wales he came to this country in 1890. He was a frequent visitor in the Gomer vicinity and generally attended Welch celebrations. He was married twice and both wives, Jennie Roberts of Gomer, and Jennie Evans of Venedocia, preceded him in death. He is survived by two brothers, William and Edward, both of Wales . His body has been removed to the home of Robert Watkins, a cousin, who resides in Gomer.

Ferdinand McClintock, 96, of 2711 Spencerville Road , died at 1: 15p m. Saturday at Lima Convalescent Home following an extended illness. He was born in Hume on April 28, 1886, the son of Charles and Mary Ann  Bowsher McClintock. On April 13, 1912 he married Edna Ellen
Hay McClintock, who died April 21, 1968. Mr. McClintock was the former owner-operator of the Barr Pastry Shop. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Lima Club and Shawnee Coon Club. He was a life member of Elks Ledge M and a 50-year member of Masonic Ludge 706 in Fort Amanda. He was also the president of the Lima American Automobile Association. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. J.M. (Lela) Winget of Issaquah, Wash. ; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday al Bayliff and Son Fu-

BLUFFTON - Rev. Elmer U. Nusbaum, 84, of here, died at 9:45 a.m. Sunday at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born Aug. 8, 1901, in Richland Township , Allen County, the son of David and Bertha Steiner Nusbaum. On Dec. 22, 1946, he married Florence Krites, who survives. Nusbaum was pastor of the Reformed Mennonite Church, near Bluffton. Survivors also include a son, Thomas Nusbaum of Bluff ton; daughters, Mrs. John (Patricia) Linkous of Fort Myers, Fla. James (Barbara ) Recker of Lima; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs Louis (Helen) Wagner of Ada and Mrs. Merlin (Mae) Jones of Bluffton.

George Peter Zenz, 78. of 525 Franklin , died at 3:45 p.m  Sundav at St Rita's  Medical Center. He- was born July 17. 1898,  in Mercer County , the son of Peter and Lillie Plas  Zenz. His wife, Naomi Beam Zenz, survives.  Survivors also include a son. Lewis G. Zenz of Wapakoneta; a step- daughter. Mrs. Robert (Ellen) Hawk of Fort Myers . Fla. ; a sister, Mrs.  Clarence (Anna) Amler, of Monroe, Mich .; seven grandchildren: and eight great-grandchildren. JAMES J. FITZGERALD, 65, of Titusville , Fla. , formerly of Lima , died Jan. 22, 1996, in Regency Woods Nursing Center , Titusville. Fla. He was born Feb. 21. 1930, in Lima , to Thomas and Mary Fitzgerald. He married Billie Fitzgerald, who survives. Mr. Fitzgerald was an engineer for NASA at the Kennedy Space Center for 25 years. Survivors also include two sons, Thomas Fitzgerald of Atlanta and James Fitzgerald II of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a daughter, Amy Marie George of Fort St. John, Fla.; two sisters, Anne Fitzgerald and Rose Mustaine, both of Lima; and three grand- children. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Bud Fitzgerald and Bob Fitzgerald; and two sisters. Agnes Fitzgerald and Helen Ketcham. Services were held Jan. 25, 1996. at St. Gabriel Episcopal
Church. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens , Titusville , Fla.

John Van and Julia Myers Robinson. He married Lillian Baldauf, who preceded him in death. Mr Robison worked at Neon Products for 37 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 268, Delphos. He was a graduate of Spencerville High School and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include three daughters. Patricia Robison, Judith Robison and Joyce M.  Former Lima resident, Pauline E. Mundhenk, 67, died at 3 a.m. Sunday at her home in Marion . She was born Aug. 10, 1916, in
Lima the daughter of William and Elizabeth Shane Roof. She married Dr. Byron L. Mundhenk, who died June 20,1974. Mrs. Mundhenk was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church . Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Sally Ann) Flick of Marion ; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Memories of Chiles and Sons-Laman, Pastor David Gabel officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery . Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

May 6, 1981

Claudette I. Foster, 51, of  Lima , died at 10:02 a.m. Monday at Lima Memorial Hospital . She was born July 4, 1939, in Spencerville, the daughter of Clayton G. and Donnabelle (Meeker) Moorman. Her mother survives in Spencerville. On July 17, 1961, she married W. Dean Foster, who survives. Mrs. Foster was a teacher's aide at Edison Elementary School . She was a member of the Buckeye ''Bomber" CB Club and was a graduate of Spencerville High School. Survivors also include one son, Gale R. Foster of Lima ; one
daughter, Mrs. Audie R. (Crystal L.) Newport of Lima; six grandchildren; one brother, Richard G. Moorman of Puyallup , Wash. ;
and one sister, Mrs. Mario (Karen S.) Sorbilli of Spencerville. Services will be at 10:30 am Thursday st Siferd Main Street Chapel, Rev. Douglas Adams officiating. Cremation will follow the services. There will be no visitation.

Lawrence E. Parsons. 88, died at 11 p.m. Saturday at Lima Manor Nursing Home.

He was born in Van Wert County on July 27. 1896, the son of Ezekiel
and Ellen E. Proant Parsons. On Oct. 27. 1917, he married Opal Shinaberry, who died in 1933.

Mr. Parsons was a retired contractor. Survivors include two sons, Harold W. Parsons and Robert E. Parsons, both of Lima ; two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Francis) Clifton of Fort Wayne , Ind. . and Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth) Meyers of Fort Jennings; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Verna Rohrer of Lima.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Rev. R. Wayne Sharpes officiating. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery . Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be
