ELIZABETH A. FOUST, 83, died at 5:22 a.m. Nov. 7, 1996, at her residence. She was born Sept. 4, 1913, in Elida to Fred and Mae East Tibbott. On Sept. 19, 1931, she married Orvell Foust, who died June 26, 1987. Mrs. Foust was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Elida. Survivors include a daughter, Betty ( Leon ) Hall of Elida; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos. The Rev. Terry Washburn will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church, Elida.

NONA KAPLE. 82, died at 1:15 a.m. Feb 26. 2000. at Columbia Care Center . She was born April 29, 1917 in Fort Worth , Texas, to Jack and Alma Ruth Perry Bounds. She married Bill Kaple. who preceded her in death.Mrs. Kaple was a homemaker She was a 1935 graduate of Sherman High School. Sherman ,Texas Survivors include a sister, Mary Catherine Randall of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Jack and James Bounds; and a sister, Alma Cordell. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles & Sons- Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. The Rev. Richard Steigleder will officiate. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery.

Andrew R. "Ace" Melton, 70, of Mount Cory , died at 12:13 p.m. Thursday, March 13,1997, at his daughter's home near McGuffey. He was born May 22,1926, in Alma , Ga. , to Aron and Angeline (Dildern) Melton. He married Delores Ruth Parlette, who died Dec. 2.1974. Surviving are three sons, James of Cumminga, Ga.; Wade A. of
Mount Cory; Wayne A. of  Bluftton; five daughters, Mrs. Tommy (Molly) Cagle, Cumminga, Ga.; Mrs.Earnest (Gwen) Hyde, Dawsonville, Ga.; Sandra Rowe, McGuffey; Susan Edlen, Alger; and Mrs. Randy (Sheila) Yoakam,
Kenton; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother Thomas Jefferson TJ." of Fitzgerald, Ga. ; and a sister, Mollie Crooks, Harrod. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawton , Maloy, Otis, Lonnie and Junior Melton; and three sisters, Lois Melton, Dollie Bohanon and Phcilla Taylor. Mr. Melton retired from the Ford
Motor Co. and was a member of the United Auto Workers union. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 16, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Revs. Oscar Brown and Wade Melton officiated. Burial was in Fletcher Cemetery , near Lima.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hardin County Hospice, 921 E. Services for William H. Van Gundy, 71, of 2381 N. McDonel St. will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Chiles and
Sons-Laman Chapel of Memories. Mr. Van Gundy died Thursday at St Rita's Medical Center . Born Oct 20,1909, in Delaware , be was the son of Andrew C. and Myrtle Gatton Van Gundy. On June 7,1930 he married Helen Smith, who survives. Mr. Van Gundy was a retired printer for Van Wert Tunes Bulletin and a former employee of The Lima News and The Lima Citizen.  He was a World War II Navy veteran and member of Veterans of Foreign
Wars Bowersock Brothers Post 6772, Spencerville. and American Legion Post 191. Spencerville. Survivors also include a son. William D. (Bill) Van Gundy of Lima ; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. William ( Ftoodora) Baldwin of Jackson Center. Rev. Larry White will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

ROBERT W. LEECH, 87, died at 10:30 p.m. March 24, 1997, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born Nov. 20, 1909, in Lima to Cloyd Emerson and Irma May (Wortman) Leech. On June 29, 1929, he married Geraldine C. Livingston, who died Oct. 18, 1996. Mr. Leech retired Dec 1, 1974, as a group leader with Westinghouse Electric Corp., Lima . He was a member of Westview United Methodist Church , Cridersville, and a life member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 320, Lima . Survivors include a son, Lowell James Leech of Cridersville;
two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Leech Jr.; two
brothers, William Leech and a twin brother, James Leech; and a sister, Margaret Roop. Services will begin at 3:30
p.m. Thursday at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The Rev. Richard Thomas will officiate, with Fred Reichelderfer assisting. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

Charles C. Scott, 54, of 903 N. Union, was dead on arrival at St. Rita's Hospital at 7:50 am Saturday following an apparent heart attack Born Nov 2,  1921,  in Stricklett,  Ky, he was the son of Bruce and Emma (Joseph) Scott His wife, the former Elva M Rumble, survives. He was a truck driver for Central Concrete. Survivors also include his mother of 240 S Jackson, two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Lenniei) Samons at home and Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Holbrook of 1120 Summit , a stepdaughter Patricia Leasure of Richmond . Va ; five grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Siege! ( Frances ) McCormlck of Sumter , N.C. Mrs. A. C. (Ruth) Combs of 103 S. Copus Rd and Mrs. Kenneth ( Georgia) McDonell of 760 Ashton. and three brothers, Ray of rural Kenton. John of 912 S Elizabeth and Robert of Florida. Mr. Scott was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. F & AM lodge 706, the Ancient and Accepted
Scottish Rite and the Valley of Dayton. Services will be at 10 30 am Tuesday  in Siferd Westwood Chapel, Rev.
Glenn Rader officiating.  Burial will be in Salem Cemetery Westminster.

Hattie 0. Smith, 89. formerly of 620 Dewey, died at 6: 30 this morning in Lima Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. Born June 28. 1886, in Continental, she was the daughter of the late Josiah and Dora (Heskitt) Reynolds. Her husband Iven Smith died in 1960. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ila Bingham of 412 1/2 N. Main and Mrs. Juanita Presho of 2246 Garden Blvd ; five grandchildren: nine great-grandchildren; and six great-
great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 30 p.m. Friday in Chiles and Sons-Laman Chapel of Memories, Rev. Willard Thomas officiating Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Westminster Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery for Frances A. Thomas, 80, of Lima . She died at 7:06 a.m. Friday at St. Rita's Medical Center . Mrs. Thomas was born Oct. 21, 1910 in New Knoxville, the daughter of Henry E. and Dorothea (Lutterbien) Niemeyer. On Nov. 2, 1935 she married J. Wilbur Thomas, who died Feb. 10,1984. An office employee at St. Rita's Medical Center , she was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Fidelis Sunday School Class and the Ladies Aid Society. Survivors include one brother, Kermit Niemeyer of Lima , and one sister, Adalma Katterhenry of St. Marys. Rev. Doug Adams will officiate for the services. Friends may call from noon to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles and Sons- Laman Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Church of Christ.

LAURA VIVIAN MOYER, 84, died at 6:30 this morning Dec. 7, 1993, at Lima Memorial hospital. She was born Nov. 3, 1909, in Perry Township , to William  and Jessie( Tapscott) Hardesty. On Sept. 6, 1926, she married Clarence E. Moyer, who died Nov. 29, 1982. Mrs. Moyer retired in 1975 as a saleswoman from the former
Gregg's Department Store. She was a member of Emerson Parent Teachers Association and a volunteer at Lima
State Hospital
. Survivors include two sons, Robert E. Moyer of Columbus and Howard P. Moyer of Findlay; a daughter, Mrs. Philip (Dee) Hickey of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Lee (Minerva) Osmon of Lima ; and 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph J. Hardesty, Floyd E. Hardesty and Byron T. Hardesty; and four sisters, Edith Keyes, Letha Miller, Elizabeth Hyde and Grace Ireland. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lewis Memorial Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes.

BLUFFTON - Verna Moser. 87, died at 7:40 p.m. Friday in the Mennonite Memorial Home. She was born March 17, 1892, in Richland Township, Allen County, the daughter of Dr. John and Barbara (Grapz) Augsburger. Her husband, Harvey Moser Sr., died Feb. 10. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Camelius (Eileen) Knott of Columbus Grove and Mrs. James (Veldene) Martin of Findlay; three sons. Francis, Harvey and James Moser, all of Bluffton; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Ebenezer Mennonite Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Paul Diller and Son Chapel, Rev. Don Pahl officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Friends may call anytime at the funeral home.

BLUFFTON - Bertha Mae Moser, 90, died 6 a.m. Monday at the Ada Nursing Home. Born Aug. 14, 1881, in Richland Township, Mrs. Moser was the daughter of George and Sarah (Yoakum) Bowers.  Her husband, John Moser, preceded
her in death. Surviving are three sons, Harland K. of here, George D. of Terre Haute, Ind. , J and Roy D. of Lafayette; seven
grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Paul Diller and son Funeral Home, Rev. James Welty officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery , Beaverdam. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday.

BLUFFTON - Services for Harvey W.  Moser, 91, a resident of the Mennonite Memorial Home, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Paul Diller and Son Chapel.  He died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mennonite Home. Mr. Moser was born June 21, 1887,
in Richland Township , the son of Peter and Mary (Augsburger) Moser. He married the former Verna Augsburger, who survives at the Mennonite Memorial Home. He was a retired farmer and member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James (Veldean) Martin of Findlay and Mrs. Camillus ( Eileen) Knott of Columbus Grove ; three
sons. Francis Moser, James L Moser and Harvey Moser Jr.. all of Bluffton, 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Rev. Dan Dalke will officiate for the services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

REV BERNARD T. STINEBUCK, 90. dud at 6:45 .mi Sept. 13.2004.at his residence. He was  born Sept. 2,1914,  in Elida to Thomas H. and Martha M. (Culp) Stinebuck. who preceded him in death. On Nov. 15.1934. he married Ruth M. Sawmiller. who survives. The Rev. Stinebuck had been pastor at several area churches. He had also worked in maintenance at Westinghouse Electric Corp., for 35 years. He was a member of Bible Missionary Church , which he helped to establish. He was a graduate of Bible Missionary Institute, Rock Island , Ill. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid reader. Survivors also include a son, Gary I (Virginia) Stinebuck of Elida; two daughters, Delores I. (William) McCall of Elida and Marilyn J  (Kenneth) Sarka of Tiffin ; seven grandchildren. Tina ( Steve) Wells, Randy I. Stinebuck, Janya  (David) Jackson, Daniel (Janiece) McCall, Taah (Marshall) Tyree and Todd (Andrea) Sarka;  and 21 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Monte R. Stinebbuck. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Chiles & Sons- Laman Funeral Homes. Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Wallace Eason will officiate. Ligouri (Grannie) A. Sanders, 86, of Lima , died at 4:02 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born May 13, 1905, in Fort Jennings , the daughter of John Vernard (Ben) and Mathilda (Schimmoeller) Schuerman. On
March 10, 1931, she married Floyd D. Sanders, who died Oct. 29, 1951. Mrs. Sanders formerly was a nursing supervisor with Lima State Hospital . She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Rita's Alumni, Allentown Community Ladies Aid and American Township Homemaker Extension Club. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Blanche) Jackson of Lima and Mrs. Kenneth (Josephene) Buettner of Delphos; five grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; two brothers, Robert J. Sherman Sr. of Fort Jennings and Richard Sherman of Albuquerque , N.M. ; and one sister, Bertille Sherman of Fort Jennings . Mass of Christian Burial will be

Ferdinand McClintock, 96, of 2711 Spencerville Road , died at 1:14 p.m. Saturday at Lima Convalescent Home following an extended illness. He was born in Hume on April 28, 1886. the son of Charles and Mary Ann Bowsher McClintock. On April 13, 1912, he married Edna Ellen Hay McClintock, who died April 21, 1968. Mr. McClintock was the former owner-operator of the Barr Pastry Shop. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, the Luna Club and Shawnee Country Club. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge M and a 58-year member of Masonic Lodge 70S in Fort Amanda He was also the past president of the Lima American Automobile Association. Survivors Include one sister, Mrs. J.M. (Lela) Wlnget of Issaquah, Wash. ; and several nieces and
nephews. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, Rev. William Wittig officiating Burial will be in St Matthew Cemetery.
Friends may call it the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

BLUFFTON - Rev. Elmer U. Nusbaum, 84, of here, died, at 9:45 a.m. Sunday at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born Aug. 8, 1901, In Richland Township . Allen County, the son of David and Bertha
Sterner Nusbaum. On Dec. 22, 1948, he married Florence Krites, who survives.  Mr. Nusbaum was pastor of the
Reformed Mennonite Church, near Bluffton. Survivors also include a son, Thomas Nusbaum of Bluffton; two daughters, Mrs. John (Patricia) Linkous of Fort Myers, Fla., and Mrs. James (Barbara) Recker of Lima ; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Louis (Helen) Wagner of Ada and Mrs. Merlin (Mae) Jones of Bluffton. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Rev. Hubert Myers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Basinger Funeral Home, Bluffton. Bernice 0. Grigsby, 73, of 523 south Roberts ave died Monday morning, at her home following a sudden illness. She was born June 15, 1911, in Spencerville, the daughter of Cloyd and Blanche Bickel Bowsher. On Feb. 5. 1931. she married James P. Grigsby. who survives. Mrs. Grigsby was a former employee of DWG Cigar Corp. and The Leader Store. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Survivors also include one son, James W Grigsby of 1575 Beery Road ; a daughter. Mrs. William (Margaret) Wheeler of 325 Bryn Mawr. seven grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Vondale Steele and Norma Githens. both of Lima. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church . Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery . Friends may call at the Hogenkamp-Murphy Funeral Home from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Services for Mrs. Ida Monfort, 78, who died in the home of her son, Roy, four miles east of here, Sunday, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hartford Christian church near Spencerville with Rev. L. S. Wiley, Elida, officiating. Rev. G. Young, Wauseon, will assist and burial will be in Hartford cemetery.
She was born Dec 1, 1868 in Dayton, the daughter of Henry & Sarah (Allason) Monfort.She is survived by three sons, Clifford, Lima; and Roy and Eugene both of Amanda-tp; seven grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Jacob Culver, Amanda-to. 
The body will remain at the residence in Amanda-tp until services.

Mrs. Martha A, Dingledine 64, wife or Peter Dingledine, died at her home, 916 Madison avenue, at midnight, New Years eve.  Death was due to dropsy and heart trouble, after an Illness of a year a half. Mrs. Dingledine was born in Mount Sidney , Va.,  in 1855, a daughter Mrs.  R.G. Clark and a son, H. C. Orebaugh
 survive. She had four grand-children.  Funeral services were held Friday at two o'clock at Bethany Lutheran church. - Rev. C. Spayde officiating and interment was at Woodlawn.

Mrs. Bertha May Lambert, 42, w ife of C. B. Lambert, grocer, Elm and West streets, died at her home 407 south Metcalf street, Friday evening, after an illness of nine weeks from typhoid fever.  She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Griffith, Rimer, Putnam county. Besides the parents, three sisters and a brother survive. They are Mrs. Charles Randall, Miss Nell Griffith , Indianapolis, Mrs. Walter Saulsbury, Elida and Friend Griffith, Lima .Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 o'clock at the residence, Rev. O. P. Hoffman will officiate and interment will be in Ottawa River cemetery, near Rimer.

Mrs. Hannah Ransbottom, 89, died Saturday afternoon at the home of her son, Alonzo Ransbottom, 733 west Elm street . She had been ill seven years, death being due to a complication of diseases. Three sons and two daughters survive. They are Newton , Frank and Alonzo, at whose home she died,  Mrs. B. B. Brower and Mrs. Charles Lawrence , all of Lima . Seventeen grand-children and sixteen great- grandchildren are her descendents. Funeral services, which will be private, will be  held Monday at 2 o'clock at the son's home. Rev. C. S. Lehman, pastor of the Church of the Brethren will officiate. Interment will be made at Wood lawn, friends who wish to view the body may call at the residence prior to the hour of the services.

An attack of heart trouble, according to verdict of Coroner Adams caused the instant death of Mrs. Maggie B. McClure. 48,. Sunday afternoon at the residence of County Sheriff Baxter. Mrs. McClure was working at the Baxter residence
when overcome by the attack, Up to time of death she had been in good health, the report of the Coroner stated. Mrs. McClure had been employed by the County Sheriff for some time previous to her death. Her husband. S. L. McClure preceded her in death one year ago. One son. Earl A. McClure of this city survives. Funeral services will be held at
Lafayette , Ohio . Tuesday.
