810 Palmwood Ave. , died Wednesday in St.
Luke's Hospital. Surviving are her husband. Frank L.: son. Smith E.
Frierson; daughter. Mrs. Mattie Williams; stepdaughters, Mrs. Callie
Mae Sursy and Mrs. Evelena Cole, and a brother, Johnnie Smith. Services
will be at 11 am Monday in the Jones Mortuary, where the body will be
after 1p.m. Sunday.

a.m. today at Oaks
Convalescent Center .
She was born April 18, 1907, in Minnesota , the daughter of Fred
and Gennie Grigsby Moench. She married John Winters, who died in 1970.
Mrs. Winters was employed at the Venus Beauty Salon.
The body was donated to
Ohio State
Medical College .

p.m. Tuesday in Sowards funeral home for John McFarland,
60, of 237 1/2 S. Jackson-st. The Rev. Stephen M. Kelker was to
officiate with burial in Memorial Park cemetery.
Mr. McFarland was found dead
at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in his home. Allen-Co Coroner Dr. T. J. Talbott
attributed his death to natural causes. He was born in Geneva, N. Y.,
and had lived in Lima for 20 years.He
operated a grocery at 236 S. Pine-st, and was a member of the Christ
church, Episcioal, and the Eagles lodge. A half brother, Walter Helms,
238 S. Pine-st., survives.

years. Mrs. Wilson was the only surviving relative. The body will remain at the
Davis-Miller and Son funeral home where services will be held at 2
p. m. Monday. Rev. Neal Dow Newlin of the Congregational
Christian church, of which she was a member, will conduct the final
rites, with burial in Gomer.

Nov. 2 — Mayne D. Miller, 62, a retired farmer, died this
afternoon at his life-time home in Orange-tp, Bluffton, Route 3, after an
illness of several weeks.

0. 0. F. and Rebekah lodges, is survived only by his wife, Mildred.
The body will be removed Sunday from the Stanley E. Basmger funeral home
to the residence where services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Monday. Rev. C.

morning at his residence, 918 S. Ccntral-av. after several months illness,
he had been a resident of

for 47 years. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Anna Sammetinger, at
home; three brothers, Charles at home, Jerome of 1118 N. Union-st, and AI
of Ann Arbor, Mich., and two
sisters, Mrs. Emma Van Horn at home and Mrs. Amanda Bierlein of 140
W. Eureka-st.
The body will be removed from the Siferd and Son funeral home Monday
afternoon to the residence where German services at 1 :30 p. m. Wednesday
will precede the church service.
Rev, L. E. Albrecht, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran church, of
which Sammetinger was a member, will conduct the church rites at 2 p.m.

died at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday at his home at 1011 W. Elm-st after an illness
of three years. He had been a resident of

He is survived by his wife, Florence; two sons, Leslie, of Walled Lake,
Mich., and Richard, of Canton, two daughters, Mrs. Paul Young, of Canton,
and Mrs. Paul DeWeese, of Findlay, and six grandchildren; a brother, John

Nov. 5 — George W. Richardson, 83, farmer, died at 1:30 p. m. yesterday
at his home two miles cast of here after an illness of several years. He
was a lifelong resident of this community. Richardson is survived by three
sons, Charles, of Spencerville, and John and Grove, at home, and three
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Friends church,
with Rev. W. L. Abrams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in
Spencerville cemetery, with the C. B. Miller and Son funeral home in
charge of arrangements.

June, all at home; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kurtz, of

Miller Lonney, 58, farmer, died at his homo five miles northeast of
Lima Wednesday at 4:30 a. m. Death was caused by a stroke of paralysis.
In addition to the widow he is survived by n son, Charles and a daughter,
Josephine, at home. Two brothers, John and William Lonney, of Bath-tp,
also survive.
Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p. at the

Mrs.
India Pfeifer Johnson, 45, formerly of Elida, died in a
Chicago
hospital Tuesday after an illness of six weeks. Pneumonia was given as the
cause of death.
Mrs. Johnson was horn in Elida. She was the wife of Lewis Johnson, and
leaves as other survivors her mother, Mrs. Cyrus Clutter, Elida; a
daughter, Miss Martha Pfeiffer, Elida and a brother, Emery of Beaverdam.
She was
a member of the Eastern Star at

April 3—Mrs. John Beckman, 71, died Wednesday ather home,
southwest of here. Pneumonia was the cause of death. She was born near
Delphos and had lived in this section all her life.
Besides her husband, she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Loretta Kroeger of near
Delphos; and four sons, Aloysius, August, John and Joseph Beckman, all
living near Delphos.
Funeral service will, be held at 9:30 a. m. Saturday, in

assistant car foreman for the B & O railroad, Wood was a native of Ada,

Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen-assn and a member of the Modern Woodmen.

Mrs.
Rosa Albaugh, 42 years old wife of Isaac Albaugh, of Spencerville,
died in the City hospital at 1:23 o'clock this morning, two weeks after
she underwent an operation.
Mrs. Albaugh was born in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania. She went to
Spencerville, one year after they were married. Mr. and Mrs. Albaugh
would have passed their twenty-sixth wedding anniversary January 7. She
would have been 43 years old February 4. The widower, two daughers, Mrs.
Ira Grassley and Mrs. Clyde E. Gaberdiel, and one son John W., all
living at the Albaugh home in Spencerville, two sisters, Mrs. Anna
Bandel, of Baltimore, Maryland, and Mrs. Elizabeth Creamer, of West Palm
Beach, florida, and three brothers, George Nicholas, of LeGore, Maryland
and Henry and James Nicholas of Glen Rock, Pa., and one grandson,
survive.
The deceased was a member of the Spencerville Methodist church, and of
the Spencerville lodges, Ladies of the Modern Maccabees, and the Modern
Brotherhood of America.
The body was removed from the hospital to the William and Davis morgue,
and was then shipped to her home in Spencerville. Arrangements for the
funeral will not be completed until distant relatives are heard from.

Mr. Little was a retired farmer, he was a member of the Lima First
Church of God.

seven grandchildren; 14 g-grandchildren; a brother Ardis W. of

raccoons Monday on the WINEMILLER brothers farm, eight miles northeast
of Wapakoneta.
Dr. R.E. SHAEFFERS, Auglaize-co coroner, attributed death to a heart
attack. Mr. LITTLE had been hunting with Alpha MILLER, 1022 Hughes-av,
when stricken. He died at 9 p.m.
Mr. LITTLE was a member of First Church of God. He was a native of
Marion-co.
Surviving are his widow, Pearl L. two sons, Kenneth, Route 2, Lafayette,
and Ardis, Route 3, Bellefontaine; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert NOLAN,
523 Catalpa-av and Miss Lavonne LITTLE, Anderson, Ind.; two brothers,

Deep
sorrow has again cast its shadow over the Thompson home at the corner of
Main and Vine streets. About two years the husband and father, John
Thompson, a veteran grocer, passed away. Saturday evening the angel of
death again entered the home and removed the widowed mother, death
occurring at 7:45 o'clock. Mrs.
Dora A. Thompson had only been ill nine days, but her sufferings
were intense, the malady being gall stones. Deceased was born in Phelps,
N. Y., and had reached the age of 58 years, 4 months and 12 days. Left
to mourn are one son, John L. Thompson, one daughter, Mrs. Nettie B.
Jacobs and an only brother, J. B. Lomison. Funeral
services will take place at the residence, 831 1/2 south Main street at
2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. F. P. Bossart, pastor of St.
Paul's Lutheran church, officiating. Mrs.
Thompson was a prominent member of Trinity Chapter O. E. S., Lima Hive
No. 43, L. O. T. M. and also of the protected Home Circle. She had been
a resident of this city some twenty years or more.

morning, the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Williams, of south Pine street,
was saddened by the death of their 9-months-old son, Paul, who
was a victim of diphtheria. The funeral or rather interment services

S. Bierly, a well-known and substantial farmer of Bath township,
died at his country home yesterday, after an illness of one week's
duration. He was born in Old Virginia, and has resided here many years,
being aged when called to rest, 68 years, 9 months and 13 days. He
leaves a wife, four daughters and seven sons, The funeral will be held
Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the late residence; interment in
Sugar Creek cemetery.

D. Haines, an aged and prominent pioneer citizen of this county,
died this morning at 10:45 o'clock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S.
K. Krauss, 618 west Wayne street, his death being due to an attack of
heart trouble after an illness of only one day's duration. The
deceased was born at Camden, N. J., on April 22, 1818 and came to this
county in 1842, remaining a citizen of Allen county until his death. He
owned and occupied a good farm near Allentown for nearly half a century
and was a prosperous pioneer farmer and an excellent citizen. His wife
died about 7 years ago and he then came to this city to make his home
with Mr. and Mrs. Krauss. He is survived by three daughters and three
sons, the former being Mrs. Krauss and Mrs. M. L. Clippinger, of this
city, and Mrs. John Shamberger, of Hartford City, Ind., and
Messers. R. E. Haines, of this city; M. B. Haines of Toledo and J. B.
Haines, of Beaverdam. The
funeral will be held from the M. E. church at Allentown, at 10 o'clock
Friday morning and the remains will be interred in the Allentown
cemetery.

Henry Irvin, 65, retired farmer and widely known horseman, died
Saturday night at his home in Elida, following an illness of nearly a
year from tuberculosis. The deceased was born in Rockingham county, Va.
He is survived by the widow, three daughters, Mrs. Carrie Early,
Columbus Grove, Mrs. Minnie Berry, Lima, and Mrs. Eva Culp, Lima, and
seven sons, Edwin, Fred, Lawrence, Richard, Emerald, all of Elida; H. E.
and R. W. Irvin of Boise, City, Iowa. Funeral
services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Elida
Lutheran church, Rev. Brewer to officiate. Burial will be made in Wesley
Chapel cemetery, four miles south of Lima.

J. Desch, 62, of 1006 Burch-av, died at 2:50 p. m. Sunday at his
residence after an illness of 18 months.
Desch,
a retired barber, was born in Chickasaw, Mercer-co, but
has been a
Lima
resident for 30 years.
He
is survived by his widow, Thresia. and a son, Robert of
Marion
,
Ind.
: two daughters, Mrs. Carl Rolfes, 601 Fairview-av and Letha, at
home; one brother, Joseph of Coldwater, and five grandchildren.
Requiem
high mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a. m. Wednesday in St. Gerard
Catholic church with Rev. Father B. J. Powers officiating. Burial will
be in Gethsemani cemetery.
The
body was to be removed from the
Chiles
and Son funeral home to the
residence Monday where the rosary will be said at 8 p. m.
Tuesday.

MARIE EDITH ROLFES,
100, died at 9:25 a.m. July 29, 2005, at Springview
Manor Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 9, 1904, in Delphos to Edward and
Theresa Hemme Desch, who preceded her in death. In 1923, she married
Carl
Rolfes, who died in 1972. Mrs. Rolfes was a homemaker, and had worked at
the
Box Factory. She was the last member of the Lima Locomotive Works
Electricians Wives Club. She had attended Lima Baptist Temple. Survivors
include two daughters, Marceen Frymyer and Patricia (William) Nichols,
both
of Lima; five grandchildren, Rick Frymyer, Michelle Musser, William E.
Nichols Jr., Doris Anne Freeman and Kyle Rolfes; and eight
great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded
in
death by a son, Jack Rolfes; a brother, Robert Desch; and a sister,
Letha
Irwin. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede
Funeral Home. Pastor Gary Hohman will officiate. Burial will be in
Memorial
Park Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the
funeral
home. Memorial contributions may be made to Lions Eye Research.
