Anna May Manhart
Anna May Manhart, 29 years old, died at the Tuberculosis hospital Sunday morning at 8 o'clock after a long illness of over two years from tuberculosis. She was born in Harrisburg, Ind., August 19, 1885, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Coton Shaffer. The husband and three small children survive. The funeral services will be held from the residence, 140 west Eureka street, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will be made in Woodlawn cemetery, Rev. Dunham will officiate.

Florence Mann
Mrs. Harl Mann, died at her home on Kibler street, Wednesday forenoon at ?:30. Mrs. Mann was formerly Florence Althaus. Mrs. Mann suffered with papalysis for about three years. Mrs. Mann was 31 year, 2 months, and 2 days of age. Mrs. Mann was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Peter Althaus. She is survived by husband, mother, sister and three brothers: Mrs. Ed Paul, of Lewisburg, Amos Althaus, of Oregon and Henry and Wilbur Althaus of Bluffton.Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite, Friday afternoon at one o'clock; interment in Maple Grove cemetery.

Walter M. Markle
Walter M. Markle, 45, of 772 E. Elm-st, died at 3:30 a.m. Friday in the District Tuberculosis hospital following two years illness. He was formerly employed as maintenance man at the Superior Coach Corp. and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Fae Martin, with whom he lived, and a brother Clay Markle, Route 3. The body will remain at the Sowards funeral home until after services at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Stanley McGilliard, pastor of Epworth Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Flora Martyr
DELPHOS, Aug. 17- Mrs. Flora Martyr, 64, died Wednesday afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. Sylvester J. Kavermann, 8l3 N. Franklin-st, following a long illness. Mrs. Martyr, formerly a resident here, made her home many years at Hailsville , Mo. , and was brought to the residence of her sister last Sunday. She was born in this city and lived here until she left to make her home jn Hailsville. She was married to Harry Martyr at Lima 41years ago. She was affiliated with the Order of Eastern Star. Besides her sister here and her husband, she leaves a son, Cecil Martyr of Kansas City , Mo. , and a brother, William Enslen, of Fremont , Ind. The body was removed to the Paul Harter funeral home where it will remain until the service at 2 p. m. Saturday, in the chapel there. Burial will be in Walnut Grove cemetery, east of here.

Lawrence Mauk
Lawrence Mauk, 77, of 719 Weadock-av, died at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Rita's hospital after a one month's illness. Born Dec. 26, 1872 in Pennsylvania, he lived in Versailles for many years, moving to Lima two years ago. Mr. Mauk was a retired mail carrier. Surviving are a son Ralph, with whom he resided; three brothers and a sister. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Miller funeral home, Versailles, with burial in Greenalwn cemetery there. The body will remain in the funeral home until burial.

Bernice S. Maurer
Bernice S. Maurer, 93 of Lima, and formerly of Eastshore Drive in Findlay, died early Friday morning, Oct. 30, 1998 at Argonne Residence Inn, Lima. She was born Oct. 1, 1905 in Fort Recovery, to Anthony and Odelia (King) Bruns. She married Erwin Charles Maurer on Dec. 30, 1924, and he died Feb. 29, 1992. Surviving are two sons, Erwin C. Jr. of Plano, Texas; Eugene T. of Findlay; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother Albert Bruns, Lima. She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert B.; a daughter Sharon Ann Maurer; a grandchild; three brothers, Walter, Leroy, and Raymond Bruns; and two sisters, Pauling Doling, Elvira Bruns. Mrs. Maurer was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Findlay, and attended St. Gerard's Catholic Church, Lima. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, downtown, the Rev. Randy Giesige officiating. burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Shawnee Township, Allen county. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Erwin C. Maurer Sr.
Findlay -- Erwin C. Maurer Sr., 86, of here, formerly of Lima, died at 12:50 pm Saturday at Fox Run Manor Nursing Home in Findlay. Mr. Maurer was born May 30, 1905, in Findlay, the son of Samuel and Lynda Lubach Maurer. On Dec. 30, 1924, he married Bernice Bruns, who survives. Mr. Maurer was a retired engineer for the Baltimore and Ohio and the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroads. He was a member of the Locomotive Engineers Association, Lima Eagles and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Findlay. He was an avid bowler. Survivors include three sons, Erwin C. Maurer Jr. of Dallas, Robert B. Maurer of Miami Lakes, Fla., and Eugene T. Maurer of Findlay; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Erma Stevens of Ocala, Fla. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9am Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church East, Findlay, Rev. Martin Nassr officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima. Linda Maurer
Mrs. S.J. (Linda) Maurer, 81, former Lima resident, died at 2:15 Wednesdaay in Miami, Fla., whre she had lived the past 15 years. Mrs. Maurer is survived by Mrs. Erma Stevens of Miami, her husband; a son Erwin C. of 2220 Odema Dr.; a daughter, Fla; five grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Services and burial will be in Miami.

Robert B. Maurer
Word has been recieved of the death June 4 in Hialeah, Fla., of former Lima resident Robert B. Maurer, 63. He was an executive in the grocery business until 1988 and wa an Army veteral of the Korean War. Survivors include his mother, Bernice Maurer of Findlay; two sons; a daughter, three grandchildren; and two brothers, including Eugene Maurer of Findlay. Services were held June 8 in Apopka, Fla., with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Apopka." (died 04 Jun 1992)

Sam Maurer
S.J. Maurer Services for S.J. (Sam) Maurer, 86, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Lima, will be Wednesday at Ortells funeral Home, Miami. Born in Attica, Aug. 27, 1883, he was married to Linda Lubach, who died in 1966. He was a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Engineer, retiring in 1949 and moving to Florida. Survivors include a son, Erwin C. of 2220 Odema Dr., a daughter , Mrs. Erma Stevens of Miami; five grand-children and 18 great-grand-children."

Sharon Maurer
Graveside rites will be held at 10am Tuesday at Gethsemane cemetery for Sharon Maurer, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Maurer, 570 Hazel Av. who died late Saturday in St. Rita's hospital. Surviving besides the parents are the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Maurer, 128 S. McDonel-st.; Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Bruns, 606 Brice Av; three brothers, Erwin, Jr., serving with the Seabees at Camp Endicott, R.I., Robert and Eugene, both at home. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Chiles and Son funeral home.

Rebecca Maxwell
Rebecca Maxwell, 40, years old died at City hospital last night at 9 o'clock after an illness of nine months from a complication of diseases. She was born in Elida, May 3, 1875, the daughter of Monroe and Elizabeth Shoemaker Myers. The death of Mrs. Maxwell right in the prime of life comes as a sad blow to the husband Samuel Maxwell and a family of ten children that are left to mourn their loss. The funeral services will be held from the Dutch Hollow church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock and interment will be made in the Dutch Hollow cemetery. Rev. Hooks will officiate.

Elizabeth McBeth
Mrs. Elizabeth McBeth, 69, colored, 1209 S. Main-st, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in her home following a short illness. She moved to Lima from Franklin, Ga., 10 years ago.
She was a member of St. Paul's A.M.E. and the Order of Eastern Star lodge in Franklin. Surviving are her husband, Adolphus and seven children; Clarence E, High-st; O'Neil, S. jackson-st; Adolphus Jr., 813 E. High-st; Mrs. Corrine Martin, New York City; Mrs. Willie Edwards, Eleventy-st; Mrs. Lillie Johnson, 518 S. Baxter-st, and Mrs. Christine Dukes, 813 E. high-st. Twenty-two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, also survive. The body was remove to the Jones funeral home, burial in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery.

Delphos -- Funeral services for Jack McCambridge who died in Chicago were held in St. John's Catholic church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial was in St. John's cemetery. The body arrived here Monday afternoon and was taken to the B. L. Jauman funeral home to await the funeral Tuesday. Altho Mr. McCambridge never lived in this city, Mrs. McCambridge did at one time. She was buried in the cemetery here. [

Albert H. McCauley
Dr. Arthur M. Griffin, rector of Christ Church, Episcopal, conducted funeral services for Albert H. McCauley, held at 7 o'clock last night, at his late home in the Albert apartments, West High street, many friends attended. Mr. McCauley, who was the proprietor of the hat shop on West High street, which bore his name, passed from life on Saturday night. The body was deposited temporarily this morning in the receiving vault at Woodlawn cemetery.

Ben McClain, 73, of Toledo, formerly of Lima, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday in Maumee Valley hospital, following an illness of two years. Born in Nevada, O., McClain is survived by his widow, Bessie and a son, Claude of Toledo. The body is at the Lewis funeral home, and services will be announced later. James McClain
James McClain, aged 43, died at the County infirmary last evening about 9 30 o'clock, following a stroke of paralysis. Deceased had been an inmate of the institution for the past two months, being employed as a laborer at the State Hospital all of last summer. A sister, Mrs. George Lilly, resides in Indianapolis and the remains were shipped there this afternoon, for interment. McClain had been a wanderer for a number of years and applied at the office of the Infirmary Directors for admittance to the institution, two months ago.

Ethel Edna McClintock, 79, of 938 S. Greenlawn, died at 10:90 p.m. Friday in St. Rita's Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Allen County . June 23,1897, she was a daughter of John S. and Martha I. (Clark) Laman. Her husband, Raymond McCiintock. died in 1952. Mrs. McClintock was a member of Elm Street Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are two daughters. Mrs. Frank (Mary Lou) Dotson of Toledo and Mrs. Richard (Martha) Church, with whom she resided, two sisters, Opal Painter of 511 N. Kenilworth and Lois Baker of 890 Bluelick Rd. ; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30a m. Tuesday at Siferd Main Street Chapel, Rev. Wilson Baker officiating Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery near Delphos. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Maggie B. McClure
An attack of heart trouble, according to verdict of Coroner Adams caused the instant death of Mrs. Maggie B. McClure, 48, Sunday afternoon at the residence of County Sheriff Baxter. Mrs. McClure was working at the Baxter residence
when overcome by the attack, Up to time of death she had been in good health, the report of the Coroner stated. Mrs. McClure had been employed by the County Sheriff for some time previous to her death. Her husband. S. L. McClure preceded her in death one year ago. One son. Earl A. McClure of this city survives. Funeral services will be held at Lafayette, Ohio Tuesday.

John W. McCormack
Delphos -- John W. McCormack, 76, died Wednesday at the home of his half-brother and half-sister, Alfred and Miss Anna O'Neill, of Grant-st. the body was removed to the Jauman funeral home where the funeral will be made at a time to be announced later. Mr. McCormack also leaves one other half-brother, Charles O'Neill. He was a widower. Mrs. McCormack and four children preceded him in death. Mrs. McCormack died 37 years ago.

The death of Orville J. McCurdy occurred at the family home, 920 west Kibby, Sunday evening, at 5:30, being due to tuberculosis. Deceased has been ill for some time. He is survived 'by a wife and two children, and was 28 years of age. Funeral services will be held at 1 30 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor Rev A. W Ballinger Interment will be at Woodlawn.

Sad is the home of Stephen and Electa McCurry, of 136 east Kibby street, for Friday morning death took their 16-year-old daughter Ida, while another child, a son, Hes in a critical condition from the same disease the daughter died of, typhoid fever. Mrs. J. L. McDonald
Word has been received in this city today of the death of Mrs. J. L. McDonald, 46, at St. Vincent hospital. On March 14 while lighting a gas stove, Mrs. McDonald dropped the match into a pile of papers. Her clothing caught fire and she was terribly burned. She lingered between life and death at the hospital last evening, when she passed away. Mrs. McDonald was a native of Lima and well known here. She is survived by the bereaved husband and two sons, John of this city, and Leonard, of Cleveland; a brother, J. C. Clifford, conductor on the C. H. & D., and a father, Cornelius Clifford of Toledo. The body will arrive in this city at 9:30 Friday morning and will be taken to the home of Mrs. Scott Watkins, 832 north Union street. Funeral services will be held at St. Rose's Catholic church at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

John McFarland
Services were to be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sowards funeral home for John McFarland, 60, of 237 1/2 S. Jackson-st. The Rev. Stephen M. Kelker was to officiate with burial in Memorial Park cemetery.
Mr. McFarland was found dead at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in his home. Allen-Co Coroner Dr. T. J. Talbott attributed his death to natural causes. He was born in Geneva, N. Y., and had lived in Lima for 20 years.He operated a grocery at 236 S. Pine-st, and was a member of the Christ church, Episcioal, and the Eagles lodge. A half brother, Walter Helms, 238 S. Pine-st., survives.

Spencerville -- Mrs. Rachael McMichael, 85, of this community, died in the Hope Lawn convalescent home here at 6:35 a.m. Sunday following an illness of several years duration. She was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are a son, Walter M. of Lima, a daughter, Mrs. Glen Hemmingway, Three Rivers, Mich., seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The body will remain at the C. B. Miller and Son funeral home until time of services. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Spencerville Baptist church with Rev. Fara Laman, officiating. Alice McMullen, 80, formerly of 711 Madison, died Sunday noon in the Oaks Convalescent Home. Born June 18, 1895 in Athens, She was the daughter of George and Anna Mitchell. Her husband, Harold C., died in 1970. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Blue Star Mothers and the Knights of Pythias Lodge. Harold C. McMullen, 78, 711 Madison, Died 7:30 a.m. today in his home. Born July 23, 1892, in Spring Hope, Pa., he had lived in Lima since 1912. He married Alice Mitchell, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Helen Shepherd of Galion, Mrs. Dorothy Conley of 517 N. Baxter, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Bartlett of Madison, Wis., and Mrs. Dwight (Jean) Long of 217 Devonshire; three sons, Sterling E. of 711 Madison, Russell of Washington, Mich., and Jack of Galion; one step brother Merrity Makin of 2223 Wellesley Dr.; 28 grand children and 16 great-grandchildren. Jack W. McMullen
Jack W. McMullen, 73, died the evening of Feb. 18, 2002, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Ashland following a short illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1929, in North Ridgeville to Harold and Alice Mitchell McMullen, who preceded him in death. He married Martha M. Ford, IN Lima , Ohio who survives. Mr. McMullen was founder and president of Ohio Electric Control Inc., Ashland. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Utica, Mich., American Legion Post 88 and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1360. He was a member of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program for more than 30 years. He was instrumental in and a big supporter of youth sports programs in the Ashland County area. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. Survivors also include two sons, Bob (Vicki) McMullen of Ashland and Jim (Brenda) Filak of Polk; two daughters, Debbie (Mike) Blubaugh of Galion and Becky (John) Frawley of Ravenna; two sisters, Ruth Bartlett of Madison, Wis., and Dorothy Conley of Lima; and 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sterling and Russell McMullen; and three sisters, Marie Carmichael, Helen Shepherd and his twin, Jeanne Long. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Van Hove Funeral Home, Ashland. The Rev. Paul Walter will officiate. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be held at 9 p.m.

Sterling E. McMullen, 61 of 711 Madison Ave., died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born April 3, 1918, in North Ridgeville, to Harold C. and Alice M. Mitchell McMullen. He was a retired employee of the Sheller-Globe Corp., and Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Western Ohio Horsemen Association. He is survived by two brothers, Russell McMullen of Washington, Mich., and Jack McMullen of Ashland; and four sisters, Mrs. Helen Shepherd of Galion, Mrs. Dorothy Conley of Lima, Mrs. Ruth Bartlet of Madison, Wis., and Mrs. Jeanne Long of Palm Harbor, Fla. Mrs. Emma McPheron, 54 years old, wife of Marion McPheron, died at her home. 656 north Union street , at 4:45 o'clock Monday morning, after a three months illness with complication of diseases. Mrs. McPheron was born in Auglaize county. Besides the widower, one brother, Allen Lashley, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Ferguson, of Lima , survive. Anna Mechling
Little Anna Mechling, one year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mechling, passed away at 11:45 o'clock Sunday, after an illness of six weeks from pneumonia. The child was but one year, five months, and sixteen days old, and had suffered from the disease, which finally removed her from this world for over two months. The funeral services, were held from the residence at 123 east Third street, this morning at 10 o'clock with interment at Woodlawn cemetery.

Miss Martha Jane Miller, 81, died at 8 a.m. Thursday in the Lima State Hospital for Criminal Insane after an illness of two years. She had been a patient of the hospital for 20 years. Madison Mitchell and John Poling
Lima -- Madison Mitchell and John Poling, young farmers living on adjoining farms southwest of the city, were both accidentally killed Monday. Poling was riding on top of a load of hay to his barn when he fell off, head first. He was picked up unconscious and died in a few minutes. Mitchell a few minutes later was leading his team of horses into the barn when one of them animals suddenly turned around and kicked him in the abdomen. He was picked up dying, and lived only a short time.

Her nearest surviving relatives are two nephews, Waltin Morin of New York and Sargent Morin of Seattle, Wash., and a niece, Mrs. James Patterson of Lima. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Church of God, Catalpa-av, of which she was a member. Rev. C. L. Quinn, pastor, will conduct the services, with burial in Fletcher cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Chiles and Son funeral home. The body will be removed Thursday after to the residence to remain until time of services.

Sarah Mumaugh
Mrs. Sarah Mumaugh, 85, died at City Hospital Thursday night, after an illness of three months from general breakdown due to age. She was born in Perry township June 1835. She was the daughter of Daniel and Hannah Shuler. Her first husband was killed in the Civil War. She is survived by a son. Uriah Jacobs, a grand daughter, Mrs. H.L. Bobb and a great-grand daughter, Florence Luttrell, all of Lima. A brother William Shuler, resides in Troy. The body was removed to the Williams and Davis Mortuary. Funeral services will be Saturday at 4:30 at the grave in Lafayette Cemetery.

Joseph Murray Sr.
Delphos -- Funeral services for Joseph Murray Sr., 69, who died Wednesday at his home, S. Cass-st, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, in St. John's Catholic church, with burial in St. John's cemetery. Mr. Murray was car foreman at the Nickel Plate railroad shops for many years. At the time of his death he was on the pension list of the company. He worked practically all of his life for the railroad company.
