Patients at an ETO general hospital frequently down the contents of beer and whiskey bottles, but it’s all strictly above board.  No medicine containers were available when the hospital unit arrived in the ETO, so Capt. Arthur H. Kotila, of Ashtabula, Ohio, medical supply officer, got busy on some informal requisitioning – he and crew collected beer, whiskey, soda and other kids of bottles in a house-to-house  canvas and searches through salvage heaps.  It’s really medicine now in these bottles, which will be sent to brewers when the hospital receives the regulation containers.
