St. Marys

PEARL MARIE CRAMER, 76. died at 10:20 p .m. Sept 17, 2001, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital . St Marys. She was born June 4,1925 in McGuffey to the late Melvin "Ray" and Sarah "Dollie" (Johnson) Lawrence . Her companion of 50 years Herman "Jake" Alspach, survives  in Buckland. Ms. Cramer retired as a press operator al Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys after 30 years. Survivors also include a
brother, the Rev. Russell (Gladys) Lawrence of Lima ; a half brother, the Rev. Don (Dorothy) Donnal of Lima, four sisters Martha Kleman, Rosetta Johns and Dixie Bradly, all of Lima , and Barbara (Hank) Ramlow of Elida. and close friends. Mike and Nancy Dunlap of St. Marys and Rex and Mary Gilbert of Buckland. She was preceded in death by a half brother, Alvin Donnal. Graveside services will begin It 10 a.m. today at Resthaven Memory Gardens , St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are by Miller- Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Pauline V. Doseck, 73, died at 3:30 a.m. April 3, 1995, at her home. She was born May 6, 1921, in Grover Hill to Clarence and Iva (Leeth) Elston. She married Joseph Doseck, who survives. Mrs. Doseck retired from Crown Equipment Corp. following 17 years of service. She was a member of St. Marys Senior Citizens. Survivors also include a daughter, Sue (Bill) Shreves of Celina; a brother. Donald Elston of South Elgin , Ill.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. The Rev. Keith Stuck will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may he made to the Gideons.

JANELLE F. WAGNER, 79, died at 5:30 p.m. Sept 10, 1993, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born June 18, 1914, in Wapakoneta. On Aug. 21, 1935, she married Roma J. Wagner, who died March 18, 1985. Mrs. Wagner was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg, and the Ladies Sodality of the church. Survivors include four sons, Jerry Wagner of Columbus , Donald Wagner of Stillwater , Okla. , Emerson Wagner of Anna and Clay Wagner of Wapakoneta; three brothers. Herman Weber of Indiana,. Everett Weber of Lima and John Weber of Moulton; and 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Weber. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg. The   Rev.  Thomas J. Grilliot will officiate. Burial will be in St John's Cemetery , Fryburg. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Long and Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta Chapel, where a Christian prayer service will be held at 8:30 p.m.

KATHRYN MOWERY, 82, died 10:55 am Feb 20, 1994 at Lima Convalescent home. She was born Nov 20, 1901, in Cridersville to Edward and Pyrle (Harruff) Osenbaugh.  She married Fredrick Mowery, who is deceased. Mrs. Mowery was a school teacher in the Maumee and Lima school districts and Ruth Rusler's kindergarten class.  She also was involved in a shut-in ministry. She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church and PEO Sisterhood, a member of the Sorosis Club and active in the Methodist Women's Circles, including Ruth Circle at Trinity. Survivors include two daughters,  Mrs. John (Patrrcia) Meinert  of Willmer, Minn., and Mrs.Harlan (Janet) Hooker of Tice, Fla. ; and seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death in by a sister, Constance Slonaker. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday al the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles and Sons- Laman funeral Homes. The Rev. William Croy and Jean
Horn will officiate. Burial will be in St Matthews Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home,  where a PEO Sisterhood memorial service will begin at 4 p m Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Cerebral Palsy or Trinity United Methodist Church.

Wapakoneta

JAMIE E. FRAZIER, 79, died at 2:27 p.m. Oct. 16, 1999, at St. Rita's Medical Center , Lima. She was born Oct. 24,1919, in Wapakoneta to Mr. And Mrs. Otto Gass. On May 20, 1961, she married Don E. Frazier, who survives. Mrs. Frazier was a home maker. Survivors also include two sons, Jerry D. Werner of Coldwater and Charles J. Werner of Lima ; a step- daughter, Karen (Paul) Haulsted of Spencerville; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son. Jack Werner; a brother, a half-brother; and two half-sisters. Services will begin at 10:30 am. Tuesday at Baylif f& Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. The Rev. James R Sager will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, near Cridersville. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wapakoneta Manor Activity Fund.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday al Chiles and Sons-Laman West Wayne Street Chapel for Ernest Thomas, 59, of 467 Ewing Ave. He died at 7 :15 a.m. Tuesday at Lima Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born Sept.1,1922, in Auglaize County , the son of Harley 
and Goldie (Whetstone) Thomas. His mother survives In Lima. Mr. Thomas retired in 1977 after 34 years as t carman for the B&O Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of the United States and Canada Local 386. Survivors also include three brothers, Walter Thomas, Lynn Thomas and Darrell Thomas, all of Lima, and three sisters, Mrs. Donald (Martha) Prine of Tucson, Ariz.,  Mrs. Richard (Betty) Boothby of Lima and Mrs. Larry (Ruth) Freed of Elida. Rev. R. Wayne Sharpes will officiate for the services Burial will be in St. Matthews Cemetery, near Cridersville. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

PERCY L. THOMPSON, 88, formerly of Drayton Plains , Mich. , died at 5 p.m. Aug. 2, 1993, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home. He was born Dec 27,1904, in Auglaize County , to Ellis and Emma Jane (Basil) Thompson. On Dec. 23,1941 he married Cecile C. Holt, who died April 24, 1980. Mr. Thompson was a retired welder with both General Motors and Chrysler corporations. Prior to that he worked at Buckeye Pipeline Co. in Lima . He was a life member of the Free and Accepted Masonic Lodge No 21, and the UAW-CIO Union, both in Pontiac , Mich. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Carrol (Velma M.) Winans and Mrs. Wilma M.A. Boyer, both of Spencerville. He was preceded in death by
a brother, Adrian Thompson. Services will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Thomas E. Baylilff Funeral Home, Spencerville. The Rev. Harold W. Thiedt will officiate. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Thursday in Ottawa Park Cemetery . Oakland , Mich. Friends may call 7 lo 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. where Masonic Rites will  be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday by the Acadia Lodge No. 306 of Spencerville. OLIVER H. WARNER, 92, died at 4:55 pm. Jan 29, 1999 at Auglaize Acres Nursing Home, Wapakoneta. He was born Aug.11,1906 in Auglaize County to Henry and Margaret (Rain) Warner. On Sept 4, 1930, he married Adelma  Fledderjohann who died in March 1984. Mr. Warner retired from the maintenance department at Hoge Lumber Co. He had owned and operated the former Warner Garage, New Knoxville . with his brother Florenz.  He had also worked at Monarch Machine Co., Sidney, and Katterheinrich Motor Sales, New Knoxville . He was s life member of First United Church of Christ. New Knoxville He was a former member of the New Knoxville-Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include a son Kermit (Arlene) Warner of St. Marys: a daughter. Ruth (Dan) Cuthtburt of Goshen, lnd.; a brother, Karl Warner of New Bremen ; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded In death by two brothers. Florenz and Raymond Warner. Services will begjn at 10:30 a.m.. Tuesday at First United Church of Christ The Rev. Nathan Wierwille will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of First United Church of Christ.

Jean A. Thomas, 51, of 409 Orena died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at her residence following a six- month illness. Born Oct. 26, 1923, in Auglaize
County
, she was the daughter of Tnornas G. and Effie (Ohler) Vertner. Her mother survives in Harrod. Her husband, Lloyd A Thomas died April 4, 1968. Surviving are a daughter Joyce M., at home, two brothers, Russell H. and Robert C Vertner, both of Harrod. Mrs. Thomas was a former employe of Westinghouse, a member of the First Church of God and Bethel Chapter 273, Order of the Eastern Star at Waynesfield. Services will be at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, at Chiles and Sons - Laman Chapel of Memories, Rev. Paul E. Donihue officiating with burial in Willow
Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

LEOTA E. WAESCH, 95, died at 1:46 a.m. April 19 1999 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St Marys. She was born, Aug 24, 1903 in St. Marys to John arid Louisa (Grine) Fischer, on Sept 2,1937 she married Henry Waesch, who died in 1978. Mrs. Waesch retired as a forelady in the binding department of St. Mary. Woolen Mill and assisted in the operation of the family farm. She was a life member of St Paul's
United Church of Christ, St Marys. She  was a charter member of the New Bremen Senior Citizens, a member of Worthwhile Women's Club and the former Koop Community Club. She was a 1921 graduate of  St Marys Memorial High School. Survivors include three sons, Robert (Carol) Waesch and Paul (Sherri) Waesch of St Marys, and Fred (Jean) Waesch of Celina, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, George, Carl, William, John and Louie Fischer,  and four sisters, Vivian Stienecker, Elizabeth Burden, Daisy Swallow, and Margaret Dorian. Services will begin at 2 p. m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.  The Rev. Nathan Wierwille will officiate. Burial in Resthaven Memory Gardens, St. Marys. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm today and noon until time of services  Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Auglaize County Visiting Nurses Association.

Clifton 0. Tippie, 82, of 716 S. Elizabeth , died at home at 10 a.m. Saturday following a long illness. Born in Auglaize county, May 14, 1884, he was the son of James and Rebecca (Iiames) Tippie. His wife, Stella May Rader Tippie, died July 10. 1964. He was retired from BLH. Surviving are a daughter. Mrs. Darrell I Clara) Guy, 720 W. Vine; a son. Orville at home; two brothers, Clarence of Dayton and Cloyd of Wapakoneta; a sister, Mrs. Lee (Ida) Amstutz of Columbus Grove; two grandchildren, and one great - grandchild. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Bayliff and Sons Funeral Home, Cridersville, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery . Friends may call at the funeral home.

KENNETH S. APGAR, 88, formerly of Hotel Fort Barbee, St. Marys, died at 7:15 a.m. June 6, 1993, at St. Marys Living Center following an extended illness. He was born Feb. 2, 1905, in Somerset, Ky . to Jacob and Harriet (Ziglar) Apgar. He was a self-employed wallpaper hanger and attended the First Baptist Church , St. Marys. He is survived by a son, Sidney A. Apgar of Oak Ridge , Tenn. ; three stephildren; and
three grandsons. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Nevillia Hunsaker, Kitty May Shock and Dana Goodwin; and two brothers, John A. Apgar and Arlington "Buck" Apgar. Graveside services will be held at 1 a.m. Tuesday at Elm Grove Cemetery , St. Marys. Rev. Grover Morris will officiate. There will be no visitation. Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, is handling arrangements.

Margaret (Dutch) Mowery, 93, of Cridersville, died at 11:55 a.m. Saturday at Auglaize Acres Nursing Home, Wapakoneta. She was born Oct 6, 1897, in Cridersville, the daughter of George and Jennie (Burke) Baumgardner On Feb. 27, 1924, she married Rhuie Edward (Billy) Mowery, who died Oct. 28,1964. Mrs. Mowery was a cook at Cridersville School and Decker's Restaurant. She was a member of Westview United Methodist Church , Cridersville. Survivors include one son, Ned Mowery of Lima ; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Jean Thomas of Olmsted Falls ; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Cridersville. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral
home.

ROBERT A. TIMMERMAN, 62, died at 10 30 am Dec. 27. 1993. at St Rita's Medical Center. He was born Oct 9, 1931, in New Knoxville to Eli and Bertha (Vandermark) Timmerman. On July 21, 1951, he married Wilma Holland, who survives in Lima . Mr. Timmerman was the director of purchasing at Allied Supply Company. He had lived in Tipp City for seven years and transferred back to Lima in 1992. He was a member of Lost Creek Country Club and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No.54  in Lima . He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Other survivors include a daughter. Mrs. John (Cheryl) Lewis of Lima. two sons Rick and Dave Timmerman, both of Lima ; two brothers. Ted Timmerman of Lima and Larry Timmerman of Wapakoneta, and five sisters Dorothy Wibbeler of St. Marys, LaRue Shoemaker of Lima Ruth Berry of Dayton, and Delores Burden and Helen Erb, both of Wapakoneta; and five grandchildren great-grandchild. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Siferd Westwood  Chapel,  Rev. Larry Hopkins will officiate The body will cremated. Friends may call until 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home, where an Elks Lodge of Sorrow service will begin at 7:30 pm.

Byrl N. Thompson, 81, of 689 N. Elizabeth St. died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Lima Manor Nursing Home. Born Oct. 15,1901, in New Hampshire,Ohio, she was the daughter of Martin Van Buren and Eva A. (Wallace) Haggard. A homemaker, she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of  Latter-day Saints. Survivor include three sons, Robert Thompson, Stuart Thompson and Francis Thompson, all of Lima; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-great- grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Haggard of Toledo; and a sister, Mrs. Carl (Cleta) Wood of Lima. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Chiles and Sons-Laman West Wayne Street Chapel, Bishop Randall L. Steel officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery   Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

GROVER  F. WALLACE, 72, died at 1 a.m. Jan. 17, 1995, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born June 12, 1922, in Lima , to Harland W. and Leota N. (Webb) Wallace. On April 12, 1947, he married Dorothy E. Ballweg, who survives. Mr. Wallace had worked as a steel room foreman with the Wapakoneta Machine Co. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, in which he was held in a German prisoner of war camp. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8445 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691, both of Wapakoneta. He
was a 1940 graduate of Blume High School , Wapakoneta. Survivors also include a son, Michael J. (Darlene) Wallace of Wapakoneta; two brothers, Byron Wallace and Ronald Wallace, both of Wapakoneta; three sisters, Irene Burden and Betty Harshbarger, both of Wapakoneta, and Sandra Ivey of Cridersville; and two grandchildren and a step-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wallace; and two sisters, Patricia Harshbarger and Karen Wallace. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. The Rev. David J. Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens , near Moulton, with military graveside rites conducted by the Wapakoneta VFW. Friends may call 4 to 8 p. m. today at the funeral home. Memorial cintributions may be made to the American Heart  Association.

MERLE K. COIL, 84, died at 9:55 p.m., Oct. 2, 1995, in St. Rita's Medical Center . He was born Sept. 11, 1911, in Celina to the Rev. Abram
and Sylvia (Springer) Coil. On Aug. 16, 1937, he married Mildred A. Kantner, who survives. Mr. Coil retired in 1974 as a supervisor with Wapakoneta Machine Co. after 45 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691, and Senior Citizens, all of Wapakoneta. Survivors also include two daughters, Linda J. Coil of Columbus and Sharon L. (John) McSween of Woodland Park, Colo.; a brother, James W. "Bill" Coil of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Gladys McKinney of St. Marys; and a grandson. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. The Rev. Dr. John E. Manzo will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery , Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ or the American Heart Association.

Grover of Auglaize Acres; a son, Albert of Lilburn, Ga.; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30p.m Friday In Yoder-Long and Folk Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
