Mrs. Effie Abbott, 53, widow of Oliver Abbott, died
Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Richard Crouse,
after a year's illness. She was employed 11 years ago by the
St. Marys Laundry. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Yoder
& Long Funeral Home with the Rev. Rudolph Moore
officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.

Waynesfield, Dec 8- Mrs. Stella Barnes,
79, died at 2:45 p.m.
Tuesday in here home here, following an extended illness.
Surviving are her husband, William; two step-granddaughters, Mrs.
William Gratz,
Lakeview, and Mrs. Seba Cotterman, San Bernardino, Calif.; A
stepson, Clarence,
Harrod; 13 step-grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren; two
brothers
William V. Frederick, Buckland, and Bert R. Frederick,
Waynesfield; two nieces.
The body will remain in Weygandt funeral home here until 1 p.m.
Thursday when it
will be removed to the Waynesfield Methodist church. Services will be
at 2 p.m.
with the Rev. Warren Baumgarner in charge. Burial will be in
Willow Branch

Stiles Baker, 70, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday in Memorial hospital.
Born Mar. 14, 1879, in Henry-co, he had lived in Lima 27 years. Mr.
Baker was retired after 25 years' service as a mill worker and lumber
buyer for the E.E. Holmes Lumber Co. He was a member of the Methodist
church in Mendon. His wife Orah, died in 1946. Surviving are four
daughters, Mrs. Homer Gottfried, Mrs. Alfred Warren, Mrs.
John Beck, all of Lima, and Mrs. Raymond Lynn, Ansonia;
three sons Melvin, Dayton, Eugene and Lloyd both of Lima; a sister, Mrs.
Webster Miller, Celina, and a brother James Baker, Pleasant
Lake, Ind. The body will remain in Siferd and Son funeral home until
services at 2 p.m. Tuesday in High Street Evangelical United Brethren
church. The Rev. Frank Hamblen will officiate, and burial will be
in Elm Grove cemetery.

Wapakoneta
Funeral services for Miss Nellie Chambers, 52, of this city, who died
at noon Tuesday at the home of a brother, C.E. Chambers, in Lima after a
four day illness due to paralysis will be held here at 2 p.m. Thursday
with Rev. George Herd, pastor of First Methodist church, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.
Her death followed that of a brother, Orlando, who died less than a
month ago in a Middletown hospital from injuries received when he
fell from a railroad bridge on which he was working. She made her home
here on Wheeler Lane until two weeks ago when she went to live with her
brother. A sister Mrs. Lewis Jones of this city and the brother survive.

Funeral services will be held here at the Sittler Memorial home, Wednesday
morning for Harold Drake, 47, Ft. Wayne, Ind. He died Sunday
morning at Bluffton clinic, Bluffton, Ind. Burial will be in Elm grove
cemetery. He is survived by his widow. the former Harriet Tussing;
a sister, Mrs. John Wilson, St. Marys and a brother, Frank, Toledo.

Buckland
Services for Jess Dixon, 62, Logan-tp farmer,
who died Wednesday of a heart attack, will be held at 2
p.m. Sunday in the Buckland Congregational Christian
church. Rev. C.C. Ryan will officiate and burial will be
in Buckland cemetery. A member of the Buckland church
for a number of years, Mr. Dixon is survived by his
widow, Maxie, and a son Wayne, serving in the armed
forces at Camp Lee, Va., two daughters, mrs. Walter E.
Murlin of Mendon, and Mrs. Melvin Metzger of Lima; two
brothers, Bernard of Detroit, and Bryan of near St.
Marys; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Gardber, Mrs. Opal
Shaffer and Miss Zella Dixon, all of Lima, Mrs. Fred
Vorhees of near St. Marys, and three
grandchildren.Arrangements are in charge the C.B. Miller
and Son funeral home.

John E. (Jack) Fike, 56, former oil driller, died at his home here
Monday after an illness dating back to last June. Surviving are his
widow, Blanche Wesner Fike, a stepson, Alfred Wesner, and two brothers,
Isom Fike, of St. Marys, and O.W. Fike of Roundhead. Funeral services
will be Wednesday afternoon at his late residence with Rev. Frank
Hamblen officiating. Burial will be in Elmgrove cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilhelmina Merkle, 74, widow of John
Merkle,
who died Sunday at her home, 715 W. Auglaize-st, after a two-week
illness due to heart trouble, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the
residence with Rev. R.J. Loew, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical and
Reformed church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery. One
son, and three daughters and a brother survive.

Wednesday in Joint Township Hospital, St. Marys. Survivors include her
mother, Mrs. Myra Egbert of Wapakoneta; her husband Myron; a
son Steve of St. Marys; a daughter Karla of Dayton; two grandchildren;
a sister Mrs. Don (Doris) Will of Ft. Wayne; and a brother
Dennis Egbert of Sidney. Services will be at 2 p.m. in First
United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Pilger Ruhe Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Vornholt funeral
Home and at the church after 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

George Phillip Ramga, 88, died at 6:30 p.m., Dec 29,
1995 in Rittman.He was born Sept. 16, 1907 in Buckland
to Phillip A. and Lucy Belle (Kurtz) Ramga. Survivors
include a sister Florence Ramga Wertenberger of Orange
City, Fla.He was preceded in death by three brothers,
Harold, Earl, and Cecil Ramga; and three sisters,
Mildred Ashdown, Edith Showalter and Eva Coon.Services
were Tuesday at Hillard Cox and Mullaney Funeral Home,
Wadsworth. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. today at
Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. |

Mrs. Louise M. Bibler, 77, died at 11 p.m. Monday at her home,
here, following an extended illness. Mrs. Bibler was born in
Pusheta-tp, and had been a lifelong resident of Wapakoneta and vicinity.
She was married to Charles Bibler Jan. 17, 1903. He died in 1940.
Several nieces and nephews survive. The body will be removed from the
Siferd and Brookhart funeral home, here to the residence of a
brother-in-law, L.A. Myers, 217 E. Auglaize-st, at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Final
rites will be in the Myers home at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in
Greenlawn cemetery.

1:20 a.m. Friday in Valley Nusing Home, St. Marys. Surviving are his
wife Caroline; a son. Carl W. of Rt. 1; a daughter, Mrs. Emerson
(Mildred) Eubank of Dayton; and a grandson. Services will be at
2 p.m. Monday in the Vornholt Funeral Home, New bremen, Rev. Carl W. Knoch
officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, St. Marys.

Monday.

Opal Moots Dicke, 91, died at 6:50 p.m., Mar 8, 2002,
at the St. Marys Living Center. She was born in
Middleburg to Lee and Hattie M. (Organ) Seaman. On Sep
29, 1929, she married Elza Moots, who died Jan. 3, 1964.
She then married Louis Dicke, who died Dec. 31, 1978.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller
Funeral Home, St. Marys. The Rev. David Woodyard will
officiate. Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery. Friends
may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

home following a two- month illness.She was born Feb.
13, 1887, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of George and
Elizabeth (Sumerhalter) Nuss. She married Edward Dingler,
who died Nov. 5, 1964.Mrs. Dingler was a member of St.
Mark's Lutheran Church.Services will be at 1 p.m.
Tuesday at Heinl-Long and Folk Funeral Home, Rev.
William C. Winzeler officiating. Burial will be in

Wapakoneta
Charles F. Elsass, 61, of Wapakoneta Route 4,
died at 4:30 a.m. Monday at Memorial hospital, from
injuries received Dec 29 in an auto accident four miles
east of Uniopolis. He is survived by his widow, Emma and
one son, Fred, at home; four brothers; John and Samuel,
of Wapakoneta; Michael of Jackson Center, and Christ of
Wapakoneta, Route 5, and five sisters; Mrs. Adam
Rinehart, Mrs. Lewis Blank and mrs. Mary Kemper, of
Wapakoneta; Mrs. Lewis Mann, of Wapakoneta, Route 5, and
Mrs. William Schuman of St. John's, Route 1. The body
will remain at the Umbaugh and Bayliff funeral home
where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
rev. E.J. Penhorwood, pastor of the South Side Church of
Christ, will officiate and burial will be in Fairmount
cemetery, near Uniopolis.

Oct. 1, 1993, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.She was born
Sept. 26, 1916, in Wapakoneta, to Charles and Mildred (Wieler)
Kinse. On July 29, 1939, she married Donald O. Frysinger,
who survives.Mrs. Frysinger was a homemaker. She was a
member of High Street United Methodist Church.Survivors
include a son, Donald of Lima; a sister Mary Detty of
Buckland; three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Wayne Street
Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Home. Rev. David
Dayton will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn
Cemetery, Lima. |

Guy E. McKinney, 76, died at 2:50 p.m. Friday in Lima Memorial
Hospital. He was born Feb., 21, 1902, here. He was married July 15,
1930, to Martha E. Knief, and she died June 4,1968.Survivors include two
sons, Duaine of Bangor, Maine, and Lonnie of Rt. 1, Waynesfield; two
daughters, Mrs. William (Ila) Wolfe of here and Mrs. George Ed (Marilyn)
Morris of Rt. 1, Lakeview; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was a retired employee of Auglaize County Highway Department.Services
will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Van Horn Funeral Home, Lakeview, Rev.
Russell E. Smith and Rev. Gregory A. Leigh, officiating. Burial will be
in Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Funeral services for John Puthoff, 70, native of Minster, who died
Friday in the Auglaize-co Infirmary, will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in

He was born Nov 1, 1869, in Minster. He died at noon Friday following an
extended illness due to complications of diseases. No immediate
relatives survive.

Mrs. Nora Thrush, 81, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:10 p.m. Saturday in
Lima Memorial hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital for the
past two months suffering from complications. Surviving are three
daughters, Mrs. Hazel Wilcox, Wapakoneta; Mrs. Altha McPheron,
Bellefontaine and Mrs, Cleta Coates, Dayton. Four sons, Grover,
Wapakoneta, Harley, Convoy, Percy, Route 4, Wapakoneta and Cecil, Jackson
Center. Twelve grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs.
Thrush
was born in Clay-tp and had been a resident of Auglaize-co
all her life. She was a member of the Bethel M.P. church. Services will be
at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Tabor church, with Revs. A.E. Oliver, of
Ridgeway and Stanley Miller, of New Hampshire officiating. Burial
will be in Mt. Tabor mausoleum. The body will remain at the Weygandt
funeral home in Waynesfield until time of services. Friends may call after
2 p.m. Sunday.
