Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. Services
will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at Meyer Chapel at Otterbein
Retirement Community, St. Marys. Graveside services will begin
at 2 p.m. Monday in Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends
may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the
chapel.

Memorial Hospital, Sidney.Services will begin at 1 p.m.

Memory Gardens.Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Opal Moots Dicke, 91, died at 6:50 p.m., Mar 8, 2002,
at the St. Marys Living Center. She was born in
Middleburg to Lee and Hattie M. (Organ) Seaman. On Sep
29, 1929, she married Elza Moots, who died Jan. 3, 1964.
She then married Louis Dicke, who died Dec. 31, 1978.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller
Funeral Home, St. Marys. The Rev. David Woodyard will
officiate. Burial will be in Elm Grove cemetery. Friends
may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. |

St. Marys- Barton L. Cook, 80, died this morning at
his home following an illness of a year. Surviving are
his wife, Alice, one son Vane, St. Marys; two brothers,
John at home, and William, St. Marys, and one sister,
Mrs. William Sherman, of Montezuma. Services will be
held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the home with the Rev. Dr.
R.B. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove
cemetery. |

Funeral services for Arthur L. South, 43, who died of
pneumonia early Friday at his home in Cridersville will be
held in the U.B. church in that village at 2 p.m. Monday.
Burial will follow in St. Mathews cemetery. The body has
been taken from the Umbaugh funeral home to the home of a
brother, Homer South, at Wapakoneta. Soyth is survived by
the widow, three sons and three daughters. The children
are Loyd, 21, Edgar, 11, James, 10, Mrs. Dean Lee, Leola
and Mildred. He also leaves four sisters, Mrs. C.H.
Stevens, of Lima, Mrs. A.G. Jenkins of Battle Creek, Mich;
Mrs. F C Wheeler, of Detroit. and Mrs. Joe Lusk,
Wapakoneta.

Margaret (Prieser) Presar,
99, died at 3:35 p.m.
Tuesday in Auglaize Acres where she had resided for 10
years.
Born Aug. 19, 1878 in Auglaize County, she was the
daughter of George W. and Catherine (Roode) Schumann.
She married Fred Prieser on Oct. 28, 1903, and he died
March 28, 1953.
She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Charles D.
Siferd Funeral Hom, Rev. Harold Thiedt officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

St. Marys - Mass of Christian Burial will be at
8:15 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic church for Michael
P. Bartrich, 69, of here. He died at 3 a.m. Monday
at Valley Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 19, 1922, in
Williamsburg, Pa., the son of Peter and Helen Bartrich.
Mr. Bartrich was a self employed cow's hoof trimmer. He
was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic church. Rev. James
O. Byrne will officiate the services with burial in Elm
Grove cemetery. |

St. Marys - Harold Elliott Mechling, 63,
suffered an apparent heart attack and was dead on
arrival at 1:45 a.m. Thursday at Joint township
hospital. He operated Harold's Flowers for 18 years and
was recently employed by Vanderhorst Builders. Survivors
include his wife the former Jessie M Griffith; a son,
Thomas E of Van Wert; two daughters, Mrs. Malcolm
(Diane) Baumgardner of Gahanna and Mrs. Dennis
(Mari-Ellen) Bobel of Bowling Green, five grandchildren
and a sister, Berthamae McElroy of Lima. Burial in Elm
Grove cemetery. |

Celina - Verna Wurster, 84, died at 9:30 a.m.
Sunday at Shane Hill nursing home, Rockford. Survivors
include a stepson, Kenneth of Celina, two brothers, Noel
Brush of Mendon and Ward Brush of Celina; three sisters,
Edith Zizelman and Mrs. Floyd (Margaret) Smith both of
Celina, and Bertha Zizelman of Rockford. Burial in Elm
Grove cemetery.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at
the Methodist Episcopal Church for Benjamin Vorhees,
85, who died Thursday of injuries received last Saturday
when he was struck by a west-bound Nickel Plate freight
train. His death occurred at Otis hospital, Celina. Mr.
Vorhees suffered a fractured skull, fractured right leg
and broken pelvis in the accident. He is survived by his
widow, one son Floyd, of near Mendon and four daughters;
Mrs. Al Hutchins, Columbus, Mrs. Victor Myrenius, Mrs.
Harl Fetters, and Mrs. Arthur Heisser, all of Celina.

Wapakoneta
James P. Madigan, 50-year-old World war veteran, died
late Saturday night in the Veteran's hospital at Dayton after a
long illness. He had been a patient at the hospital for some
time. Surviving him are his wife, Mary Jane; three daughters,
Mary Jane, Catherine and Rita, and four sons, James jr., Thomas,
Robert and Daniel all at home here. Funeral services will be
held at 9 a. m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic church, in
charge Rev. Fr. Francis Laudick. Burial in St. Marys Gethsemane
cemetery.

electrician. Survivors include his wife, the former Ethel D. Bodey.

Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery. Friends may

and building supply firm here, died unexpectedly at his
home early Monday of heart disease. He was stricken ill
Sunday night. His home was on E. Pearl-st. Surviving are

Busch, 68, who
died Tuesday, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the
Siferd and Brookhart Funeral parlors with the Rev. J. B.
Shellhaas, conducting. Burial will be in Evergreen
cemetery. Busch for the last several years had been
employed as a farmhand by Russell Weinert of here at
whose home he died.

St. Marys - Funeral services were to have been today
for Elva M. Dunlap, 81, of St. Marys, at
Yoder-Long and Folk funeral home with the Rev. A. J.
Singley officiating. Burial was in Elm Grove cemetery.
She died at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday in Joint Township
hospital, St. Marys. She was married to Harry O. Dunlap
on Nov. 11, 1906. He died in 1948. Surviving are nine
sons, Harry Jr., Van Wert, LeRoy, James, Harold, Robert
and Charles, all of St. Marys, William, Worthington,
Willard, of Anna, and Guy of Wapakoneta; four daughters,
Mrs. Edward (Mary) Donavon, St. Marys, Mrs. Robert
(Betty) Hardin, Mercer, Mrs. Albert (Dorothy) Martin,
Wapakoneta and Mrs. John (Opal) Kingen, Celina; 39
grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A son
Eugene preceded her in death.

St. Marys - Roy Lykins, 65, died at 7 a.m.
Saturday at his residence. He had been in failing health
for the past three years. He was married Nov 4, 1935 to
Sarah Banks, who survives. Also surviving are three
daughters, Mrs. Norman (Janice) Chiles, of Troy, and
Mrs. Frank (Frances) Bowling and Mrs. Larry (Florence)
Townsend, both of here and eight grandchildren. The
family moved from Kentucky to St. Marys in 1954. He was
employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., until he
retired in 1972. Burial in Elm Grove cemetery.

Okla., Mrs. James (Betty) Shelby of Rt. 2, and Mrs.
Thomas (Wilma) Shelby of New Bremen; a son, Donald of
Rt. 1; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Burial in Elm Grove cemetery.

appendicitis caused the death of Ellen Eileen Horn,
seven year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Horn,
north of St. Marys, at City hospital, Lima. Surviving
are her parents and three grandparents. Funeral services
for her will be held at Kossuth Friday.
