WAYNESFIELD-Mrs. Nola Mae Sanders, 83, of Rt 1 died 7:48 a.m. Saturday in
her residence.

Born April 5, 1887, in Auglaize County, she was a daughter of Byrd A. and Ella
Painter Richardson Her husband, L. Roy Sanders, died July 13.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs, Lott (Thelma) Turner of Rt 1. Mrs. J. F.( Irene) Winbigler of North Palm Beach . Fla. , Mrs. Byron (June) Barnes of Rt 1, Harrod, and Mrs. Donald (Jean) Maxwell of Rt 1; a son  Russell of Rt 1, 14
grandchildren; and 2n great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.  Services will lie 2 p.m. Monday in McAuley Funeral Home. Rev. Willard Thomas
officiating. Burial will he in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Nov 19, 1982

SPENCERVILLE - Albert L. Mueller, 71, died at 11 a.m. Thursday following an apparent heart attack.

He was born March 26, 1911, in Auglaize County , the son of Ermand and Mary C. Steva Mueller. On Feb. 2, 1942, be married Mary C. Proffitt, who survives.

Mr. Mueller was a retired farmer and worked with his brother in maintenance at Reliable Buffing Co. for 25 years.

Survivors also include three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Judi) Richardson of Venedocia, Jean Mueller of San Jose , Calif , and Mrs. Jack (Dixie M.) Kuenning of St. Marys; a son, John A. Mueller of St. Marys; seven grandchildren; two
brothers, Robert Mueller of Muncie and Donald (Abe) Mueller of Spencerville; and two sisters, Ann Cunningham of Celina and Mrs. Matt (Margaret) Mattson of Jackson Heights, N.Y.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Rev. Hugh W. Bowland officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery , St. Marys.

WAPAKONETA - Bernard McCullough Sr., 84, died at 8 p.m. Thursday at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.

He was born Oct. 20, 1897, In Washington Township , the son of John and Anna Stalder McCullough. On Nov. 30, 1920 he married Olga Schroer. who died Jan. 22, 1978     

Mr. McCullough was a member of New Knoxville United Methodist Church .

Survivors include four sons, Bernard (Barney) McCullough Jr. and Melvin McCullough, both of Wapakoneta, John McCullough of Tucson , Ariz. , and Bill McCullough of Tyler , Texas ; two daughters. Mrs. Paul (Phyllis) Endicott and Marlene McClintock, both of Lima ; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters. Mrs. Walter (Ida) Kruse of Anna , Lydia Tabler and Mrs. Forrest (Pauline) Opperman, both of Wapakoneta; and a brother, Kermit McCullough of
New Knoxville.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Charles D. Siferd Funeral Home, Rev. James Waugh officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Treva Salisbury, 56, of Tampa , Fla. , formerly of the Cridersville area, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Tampa Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born Dec. 8, 1916, In Auglaize County, she was a daughter of Dean and Anna Bowsher Porter. Her husband. Earl, survives.

Also surviving are a son, Roger Hamen of Uniopolis; a daughter, Mrs. James (June Ann) Pegg of Marion, Ind.; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Cletus (June) Hemmelgarn and Mrs. Cleota Hopps, both of Tampa, Mrs. Robert (Leota) Atkinson Sr. of 901 Franklin and Mrs. Hershel (Katherine) Long of 532 Albert.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Town and County Chapel of A. P. Boza Funeral Home, Tampa .

WAPAKONETA - Services for Philander Sammetinger, 74, of Rt 5 will be 2
p.m.  Saturday in Siferd Funeral Home, Rev Paul Steele officiating Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Sammetinger died at 12:3 a.m.  Thursday in Auglaize County Home following an extended illness.

He was born April 8, 1896 in Pusheta Township, the son of William and Catharine Ruck Sammetinger. On Nov 27, 1919 he married LaVera E Sibert. She died March 14,1969

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. R. E. (Alice) Schepler of Edgerton; two sons, Howard of this city and Neal of Rt 5; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Clara) Wahrer and Mrs. Ralph (Kate) Bibler both of Wapakoneta, and a brother, Wilson  at the Auglaize County Home.

He was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War 1 and a member of the disabled American Veterans.

ST. MARYS - Erma L. Sampson, 89, died at 5 p.m. Thursday at Auglaize Acres where she had resided for the past seven years.

She was born Sept. 14, 1892, in Noble Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Helm Sprague. On Dec. 24, 1914, she married William Suchland, who died in 1935. On Sept. 11, 1942, she married William H. Sampson, who died in 1954.

Mrs. Sampson was baptised and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church .

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. William (Evelyn) James, Mrs. Kenneth (Vonnalee) Howick and Mrs. Phil (Mary Jo) Pfenning, all of St. Marys; a son,
William Suchland of Albuquerque, N. M. 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a half sister, Mary Luttman of Auburn, Ind.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Yoder-Long and Folk Funeral Home, Rev. Thomas L. Brodbeck officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery .

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and until time of services Monday at the funeral home. There will be no visitation on Sunday.

 ST. MARYS - Dianna L. Sanford 42, died at 7:10 am Sunday at University Hospital, Columbus , following a two year illness.

Born in Wapakoneta Oct. 10, 1938, she was the daughter of Russell L
and LaVera Rain Hangen, who survive in Wapakoneta. On July 30, 1960. she married Leonard 0. Sanford, who survives.

Mrs. Sanford was a homemaker and assisted her husband at Sanford Plumbing and Heating Co. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, the women's guild of the church and the Soroptimist Club.

Survivors also Include three daughters, Traci Sanford, Missi Sanford and Jill Sanford, all at home; and a sister, Mrs. James (Jo Ann) Printz of Piqua .

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul United Church of Christ. Rev. Dennis E. Snell officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Garden .

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday and until noon Wednesday at Yoder-Long and Folk Funeral Home. The body will then be taken o the church to lie in state until time of  services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Foundation or to the church pew cushion fund.

WAPAKONETA - Donald E. Sanders, 3 months, died Tuesday in Richmond Dale in Ross County .

Pike County Coroner Dr. Kenneth Wilkinson ruled that death resulted
from gastric aspiration.

He was born Dec. 9, 1983, in St. Marys, the son of Tammy Sanders.

Survivors also include maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Sanders and Mr. and Mrs. Ezell Burgess; and a maternal great-grandmother, Margaret Nelson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Patrick Heinl Funeral Home, Pastor Harold Thiedt officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery .

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

WAPAKONETA - Russell L. McKercher, 71, died at 11:22 a.m. Monday in the emergency room of Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.

He was born Jan. 27, 1912, in Auglaize County , the son of Ferd and Lulu Smith McKercher. On Jan. 1, 1949, he married Marjorie Rader, who survives.

Mr. McKercher was a retired farmer and also was retired from the State Highway Department. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors also include three sons, Fred McKercher of Phoenix, Ariz., Daniel McKercher and John McKercher, both of Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. John (Sarah) Forsyth of Jackson Center; and a half-sister, Mrs.
Louis (Vonda) Long of Toledo.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Charles D. Siferd Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, near Uniopolis.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Johns Rescue Squad.

WAPAKONETA - Gladys M. Boltz, 77, died at 12:50 p.m. Monday at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home where she had been a patient for 12 days.

She was born March 17, 1905, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Albert
C. and Mary Elizabeth Weidner Boltz.

Miss Boltz was a retired waitress and had worked in several establishments in the area. She had also been an employee of DWG Cigar Corp. in Wapakoneta.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert M. Boltz of Marion and James Boltz of Wapakoneta; and three sisters, Helen M. Harvey and Mrs. John (Leona) Marshall, both of Marion, and Mrs. Robert G. i Doris; Schneider of Wapakoneta. 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Heinl-Long and Folk Funeral Home, Rev. William C. Winzeler officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph 's Cemetery.

ST. MARYS - Bertha M. Gibbons, 65, died at 9:23 p.m. Thursday at her home following an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 12, 1915, in St. Marys, the daughter of James Delbert and Florence Arnold Copsey. On April 29,1939, she married Wilson A. Gibbons, who survives.

Survivors also include a son, Jack Copsey of St. Marys; four daughters, Sally Tester, Mrs. David (Sharon) Hogrefe, Judy Wietae and Mrs. Ed (Mary) Miller Jr., all of St. Marys; 10 grandchildren; a great-grand-child; and a sister, Mrs. Harold
(Charlotte) Adams of St. Marys.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Yoder-Long and Folk Funeral Home, Rev. H. Hoyt Brown officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery .

NEW BREMEN - Ray J Knipple, 79. died al 11:20 p.m. Wednesday in Joint Township District Hospital, St Marys, of an apparent heart attack.

Born March 16, 1897, in New Bremen , he wax a son of William and
Clara Keppler Knipple He married Louise Laut, July 2, 1921. and she survives.

Also surviving are two brothers, Carl of St Marys, and Wilbert of Fostoria and five sisters, Marie Spencer of Everett . Wash., Ester Parks of Dayton . Margaret Slife of Wapakoneta. Kathrine Newell of Toledo , and Helen While of Dayton

Mr. Knipple was a World War I veteran, a charter member of Post 241 American Legion, a member of the Soldier's Relief Commission, past president of the Past Commanders Association of the Second District of the American Legion, a past Grand Ches-De-Gare of the 40 Et-8. and held various offices In the state organization of the Ches-De-Care He was a member of the Mercer Lodge 121 Free and Accepts Masons. Auglaize County Barracks of World War I
veterans, the Home Benefit Association. New Bremen Senior Citizens and
a central committee of the Auglaize County Board of Elections He owned
and operated the Knipple Bakery for 21 years He was later employed for
18 years as superintendent of the municipal water department On Jan
I, 1971 he was made a member of the board of directors of the Community
Savings and Loan Co. of St Marys and he was a member of the St Paul
United Church of Christ.

Services will be al 2 at p. m Saturday In Vorn Holt Funeral Home. Rev Roger D Perl officiating.  Burial will be In German Protestant Cemetery

Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 tonight and on Saturday until time of services.

Masonic services will be at the funeral home at 9 tonight American Legion Post 241 will have military services al the cemetery

WAYNESFIELD - Services for former Waynesfield resident, Joshua J. Loomis, 83, of Ansonia , will be 10 a.m. Friday in Oliver's Funeral Home, Ansonia. Burial will be in Willow Branch Cemetery .

Mr. Loomis  died Tuesday morning in his home. Born March 1, 1888, in Auglaize County , he was the son of E. J. and Judy Montague Loomis. He married Edna Downing in 1920 and she died Jan. 7, 1968.

Surviving are a son. Junior J. of Union City, Ind.; four daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Freeda) Kochensparger of Rossburg, Mrs. Harry (Betty Jane) Walker of
Menlo Park, Calif., Mrs. Wayne (Maxine) Munn of Union and Mrs. Eugene (Rebecca) Hemmelgarn of  Fort Recovery; three   sisters,   Mrs. Maude
Gross of 118 Haller, Lima, Mrs. Julia Sybert of 425 W. Vine, Lima, and Mrs. Thelma Smith of  Belle   Center ; 22 grandchildren; and eight great-grand-
children.

ST. MARYS - Louetta Gilberg, 82, of here, died at 11:06 a.m. Wednesday at Auglaize Acres, Wapakoneta.

She was born May 24, 1903, in St. Marys, the daughter of John Henry and Elizabeth Geiger Burger. On May 4, 1951, she married Don Lawrence, who is
deceased. On June 12, 1972, she married Louis C. Gilberg, who survives in Wapakoneta.

Mrs. Gilberg retired after 26 years at St. Marys Woolen Mills and had been an employee of St. Marys Nursing Home for 20 years. She was a member and
treasurer of First Friends Church .

Survivors also include one step-daughter, Mrs. Werner (Emily) Krebs of Crestview Hills, Ky., and two step-grandsons.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Rev. Walter George Clausing officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery .

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

ST. MARYS - Viola L. Kuhlhorst, 79, of here, died at 12:55 a.m. Sunday at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital .

She was born Feb. 22, 1912, in St. Marys Township , Auglaize County , the daughter of John and Emma Barth Hoeper. On June 18, 1949, she married Harry C. Kuhlhorst, who died April 2,1989.

Mrs. Kuhlhorst was a homemaker and earlier had worked at Goodyear, St. Marys. She was a member of St. Paul 's United Church of Christ and its Women's Guild. She was a 1931 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Linda) Young of Ann Arbor , Mich. ; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at If a.m. Wednesday at Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, Rev. Carl J. Mohr officiating. Burial willl be in Elm Grove Cemetery , St. Marys.

Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul 's Church Accessability Fund.

NEW BREMEN - Esther E. Kuhlhorst, 88, died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday at Lone Pine Nursing Home following an extended illness.

She was born March 25, 1896, in New Knoxville, the daughter of Ernst and Laura Kuck. In September 1922, she married Leo Kuhlhorst, who died in 1949.

Mrs. Kuhlhorst was a homemaker. Survivors include, a son, Walter Kuhlhorst of Lucasville; a daughter, June Kuhlhorst of New Bremen; five grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; and a brother, Walter Kuck of Stewart , Fla.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville, Rev. Neal Kuhlhorst officiating.

There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilberg Funeral Home, New Bremen .

NEW BREMEN - Anna Kuest, 95, died at 3.35 a.m. Sunday at Lone Pine Nursing Home where she had been a resident for four years. She was born June 2, 1886, south of New Bremen , the daughter of Henry and Wilhelmina Nuessmeyer Kuest.

Miss Kuest was a retired employee of the New Bremen Telephone Co. She wrote poetry for special occasions. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, an honorary member of the church Women's Guild and had taught Sunday school for 50 years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vornholt Funeral Home, New Bremen , Rev. Carolyn J. Mann officiating. Burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery .

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ.

SPENCERVILLE - John J. Bollinger, 82. of Rt. 1, near Kossuth, died at 6 am Tuesday in St. Rita's Medical Center , Lima,  following an extended illness

He was born Jan. 8, 1891, in Kossuth, the son of John J. and Barbara Smith Bollinger. On April 14, 1943. he married the former Lila June Rupert, who survives.

Mr. Bollinger was a retired welder with the former Lima Ordinance Depot. He was a member of Acadia Lodge 306 of the Free and Accepted Masons. Royal Arch Masons Spencerville Chapter 169. the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 in Spencerville and was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors also include two step-sons. Harold R. McDonald of Delphos and Thomas F. McDonald of St. Marys; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Lanning of Celina.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday al Thomas E. Bayllff Funeral Home. Rev. Leonard Spacht and Rev. Judi Parker officiating. Graveside military rites by the Spencerville VFW and American legion will be in Kossuth Cemetery .

Friends may call anytime after 7 tonight at the funeral home, where masonic memorial services will be held at 8 p.m Thursday.

ST. MARYS - Rolland L. Blakeley Sr. 84, died al 3:05 p. m. Sunday at Coldwater Community Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born Sept. 7, 1899, in Washington Township . Auglaize County , the son of Samuel and Cynthia Kuhn Blakeley. On Nov. 30, 1923. he married Dorothy Cowhick, who died in 1973.

Mr. Blakeley retired in 1984 from St. Marys Foundry. He served with Company K of the Ohio National Guard and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church .

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Clarence (Peg) Kohli of St Marys with whom he made his home; a son, Rolland L. Blakeley Jr. of North Webster, Ind., four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hazel Logan of Sidney. Mary Glick of Wapakoneta and Helen Adams of St. Marys; and a brother. Luther Blakeley of St. Marys.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Rev. Theodore T. Stellhorn III officiating Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from t to 9 p.m. Tuesday.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church building fund.

WAPAKONETA. Dec. 4 — Mrs. Alva Retta Ann Wheeler, 81, died at her home in Buckland Saturday after an illness of about three months.

Mrs. Wheeler, a lifelong resident of Buckland, was born there Nov. 16,1863, the daughter of John H. and Sarah Weaver Gochenour, who along with her husband, John W., are dead.

Three children survive, Mrs. Otto Niswonger, Fremont, Mrs. Marion Baker, Buckland. and Mrs. Florence Sullivan, Detroit , Mich.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at the residence with the Rev. C. C. Ryan officiating. Burial will be made in Buckland cemetery.
