CHARLES B. FARMER

LISBON, July 25 (Special) -- Charles B. Farmer, Elkrun Township farmer, died Monday at  8 p.m. of a heart attach at his home on R. D. 5.  He was 79.

He was born in Elkrun Township June 30, 1871, a son of Thomas and Margaret Caldwell Farmer, and lived there all his life.  He was a member of the Churchhill Christian Church.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ada Halverstadt, in the home, and a nephew, Robert Halverstadt of East Palenstine.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. from the Henry Funeral Home, where friends may call Wednesday.  Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.

LOIS JUNE FATE

Lois June Fate, 71, of 1229 Columbiana Lisbon Rd. 77, Columbiana, Ohio, died of cancer on Wednesday, March 30, 1994, at her daughter's home on Loretta Drive.

Born June 19, 1922 in Cuyahoga Falls, a daughter of Loren F. and Clara I. Gaumann Brillhart, she married Paul H. Fate on April 24, 1942. She was a member of the Canfield Bridge Club and the South Side Bridge Club, and had worked as an operator and in the business office of Ohio Bell Telephone Co. for nine years, retiring in 1949.

Survivors include her husband, Paul H.; son, Gary A. Fate of Youngstown; daughters, Gail F. Puccio of Boardman, Ohio, and Judy A. Micklow of Southlake, Texas; brother, Jack D. Brillhart of Cuyahoga Falls; and two grandchildren.

Private services were held. Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel handled arrangements. Memorial tributes to the Hospice of the Mahoning Valley or Multiple Sclerosis of Youngstown.

THOMAS A. FAWCETT

LISBON, July 26 (Special)-- Thomas a. Fawcett, 49 , died suddenly Tuesday at 3 p.m. at his home on Grant St.

Born in Brownsville, Pa., Aug. 11, 1900, a son of Joseph Fawcett and Clara Ryan Fawcett, he was a veteran of World War I, having served in the Engineer Corps.

Mr. Fawcett had been a resident of Lisbon since 1923.  He was a carpenter and was a member of the St. George Catholic Church and the Eagles Lodge.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. William Thomas of Lisbon, Mrs. E. J. Thomas of Springdale and Mrs. Ralph Swartzwelder of Pittsburgh, and three brothers, William Fawcett and Walter Fawcett of Springdale and Joseph Fawcett of Brownsville.

The body was removed to the Eells-Leggett Funeral Home pending arrangements.

LISBON, July 27 (Special)-- The body of Thomas A. Fawcett, who died suddenly Tuesday afternoon at his home on Grant St., was removed Wednesday night to his native Brownsville, Pa., for services and burial there Friday.

ELWYN FENTON

Elwyn J. Fenton, 31, of 951 Monaca St., died Saturday at 9:10 p, m. in City Hospital following a long illness.

A son of Earl and Myrtle McCray Fenton, he was born in East Liverpool.  A graduate of the East Liverpool High School, he served in World War II.  He was a member of  St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.

He leaves his parents; two brothers, Richard Fenton and Herbert Fenton, at home, and two sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Wolfe of East Liverpool and Mrs. Earla Jones of Wellsville.

Rites will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Dawson Funeral Home by the Rev. M. Ray Smith of the Pennsylvania Ave.  Methodist Church.  Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Friends may call Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

MRS. MARY J. FERGUSON

Mrs. T. P. Ferguson's Rites Will Be Monday

Mrs. Mary J. Ferguson, wife of Thomas P. Ferguson, died Friday at 8 p. m. in her home, 1117 Vine St.  Mrs. Ferguson, 74, was ill for 19 years and an invalid most of that time.

She was born in Cardiff, Wales, and spent most of her lifetime in East Liverpool. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Women's Society of Christian Service.

She leaves a son, Silas W. Ferguson, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Leeper of Trenton, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Florence Davis of Canton, and two grandchildren.

Rites will be held Monday at 10:30 a. m. in the Martin Funeral Home by Rev. Stanley H. Mullen.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday afternoon and night at the funeral home.

MRS. VIOLET FERGUSON

Services will be held Thursday for Mrs. Violet Ferguson, 73, of W. Main St., New Waterford, who died Monday afternoon at 2 after a lingering illness.

She was born April 26, 1894, in Butler County, Pa., a daughter of Frank W. and Rachel Fenwick Ferguson.

She had been associated with her brother, William E. Ferguson in the Ferguson Insurance Agency at New Waterford for 35 years.

She was a member of the New Waterford Methodist Church, a charter member of the East Palestine Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and treasurer for 25 years of the New Waterford Chapter, American Red Cross.

Besides her brother, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Jeanie McCurie and Miss Mary E. Ferguson, both of New Waterford.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ferguson home, with the Rev. Leland Floyd in charge.

Friends may call tonight at the family home. Burial will be in New Waterford Cemetery.

 

OLA S. FIELDS

Mrs. Ola Scott Fields, president of the Fields Funeral Home at Wheeling and mother of a New Cumberland Minister, died Saturday at 12:50  p.m. at her home in Wheeling.

Born March 14, 1876, at McClellandtown, Pa., Mrs. Fields was the mother of Rev. Allen S. Fields, pastor of the New Cumberland Christian Church, and granmother of Allen S. Fields, Jr., operator of the Fields Funeral Home at New Cumberland.  She was a member of the Wheeling First Christian Church.

In additions to Rev. Fields, she leaves two other sons, Manton B. Fields, of Wheeling and Charles W. Fields of Bethany; two daughters, Mrs. Zona Klee of East Cleveland and Mrs. Catherine Miles of Wheeling; a brother, Olen Scott of St. Louis; three sisters, Mrs. Goldie Martin of Indianapolis, Mrs. Odessa Shrontz of St. Louis, and Mrs. Katherine Higbee of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services will be conducted in the Fields Funeral Home, 823 Main St., Wheeling, Tuesday at 2 p. m. by the Rev. Donald Cover of Warwood and the Rev. J. L. Pierce of Parkersburg.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Wheeling.

JOSEPH FLOOD

Joseph Flood, 84, of 31 S. Pearl St., Columbiana, died Sunday, at 5:05 p.m. in the Hutton Nursing Home, Salem. 

He was born Dec. 26, 1900 in Uniontown, Pa., the son of James and Cecilia Flood. He moved to the Columbiana area eight years ago from Akron. For 26 years he was a purchaser for the Vaughn Machinery Co., retiring in 1967. Prior to that, he worked as an automobile mechanic. He attended the Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Cuyahoga Falls. 

Survivors include his wife, the former Elizabeth S. Brackett, whom he married April 19, 1935; son, David of Columbiana; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

A chapel service will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the Columbiana Cemetery chapel, Mr. Clarence Mansfield officiating. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Seederly-Mong Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Barber Dies At Wellsville

Rites Slated Tuesday For Walter Flowers

Walter T. Flowers, a Wellsville barber for 37 years, died Saturday at 7 p. m. in City Hospital following a three-week illness.

Flowers lived in Hillcrest, near Wellsville, and conducteda shop at 18th and Main Sts.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Betty Flowers; two daugthers, Mrs. Fred Hayse of Washington, Pa., and Beverly Flowers, a step-daugther, Gladys Flowers, and a son, Walter Flowers, all at home; his father and step-mother, Mrs. and Mrs. Ross J. Flowers of New Matamoras; three sisters, Mrs. Millie Thomas of Hillcrest, Mrs. mary Mathaney of Marietta and Mrs. Nellie Sloniker of New Matamoras, and one grandchild.

Rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. in the Haugh Funeral Home in Wellsville by the Rev. L. R. Carothers of the Evangelical United Brethern Church.  Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 10 tonight at the funeral home.

EDITH FLOYD

Mrs. Edith Floyd, 42, wife of Leland Floyd of Hookstown, died Monday at 7 p.m. in the Rochester General Hospital.

Mrs. Floyd was a member of the Hookstown Presbyterian Church and the Hookstown Grange.

She leaves eight sons, Richard Floyd, William Floyd, James Floyd, John Floyd, Daniel Floyd, Thomas Floyd, Donald Floyd, and Timothy Floyd and three daughters, Esther Jean Floyd, Nancy Floyd, and Edith Joann Floyd, all at home; her mother, Mrs. C. C. Leister, and a sister, Mrs. Henry Shepherd of Hookstown, and a brother, Claude C. Leister, of Aliquippa.

Private funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. in the Stewart Funeral Home in Hookstown by Rev. Vernon Vandersall of Sharpsburg, Pa. , former pastor of the Hookstown Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Mill Creek Cemetery.

Friends may call tonight and Wednesday night at the funeral home.

HENRY H. FULLERTON

Henry H. Fullerton, 85, father of Mrs. Walter Davidson of Newell, died Wednesday at 2 a. m. at his home in Midway, Pa., following a long illness.

A retired farmer, Mr. Fullerton was the husband of Mrs. Bertha Swearingen Fullerton of Midway. Survivors also include another daughter, Mrs. Phillip Shandy of Cleveland, and a son, Leonard Fullerton, was killed in World War II.

Services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p. m. from the E. G. Wilson Funeral Home in Midway.  Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Florence, Pa.
