HENRY cOY FAMILY
Henry Coy was born 4 Mar
1776 in Montgomery Co, PA to Johann Henrich Coy
He married Elizabeth Hodge
in 1835 when he was 59 and she was 30. She was born in Pennsylvania but her
parents had moved to Hancock, Ohio
Henry and Elizabeth
Coy had six children, all born in Columbiana Co.:
1) Joseph W
Coy, 1836, 2) George Washington Coy, 1838, 3) Rachel
N Coy, 1839, Samuel Coy, 1841, 5) Mary
Elizabeth Coy, 1845, and 6) Lydia M Coy, 1847.
The 1850 US Census shows them living in Perry.
Henry Coy died 28 April 1856 in
Springfield.
The 1870 US Census shows Elizabeth Coy,
a widow, living with her son George W Coy, his wife Reale'
and three children in Salem. Elizabeth died 9 Feb 1874 in
Salem, Columbiana Co., Ohio.
May Elizabeth Coy, the fifth
child of Henry and Elizabeth Coy married William
Wolfram Dubbs from Beaver Township, Mahoning Co, Ohio. They had four
children in Ohio before moving, by covered wagon, to Iowa in 1870 where
they had one child. In 1872 they moved to Hall Co, Nebraska where they added 8
more children.
