Former
Local Woman Dies
Mrs.
Irene Redick of Martins Ferry Taken
Mrs.
Irene Rhea Redick, wife of Clifford C. Redick of Martins Ferry, died
today at 8:10 a. m. in the Martins Ferry Hospital, following a
three-week illness. She had been in the hospital two days.
Mrs.
Redick, 36, was born in Sandyville, Aug.6, 1916, and lived in East
Liverpool for many years. Her husband is the Martins Ferry sales
representative of the H. J. Heinz Co. of Pittsburgh. She had lived
in Martins Ferry for the past seven years. she was a member of the
First Methodist Church there.
She
leaves her mother, Mrs. Ida Dickson of East Liverpool; a brother, James
Dickson of East Liverpool; a brother, James Dickson of East Liverpool,
and two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Winland of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Paul
Andrews of Meadville, Pa.
The
body was taken to the Heslop Funeral Home in Martins Ferry where rites
will be held probably Friday afternoon by the Rev. Glenn Tennell.
Place of burial hass not been determined.

CLIFFORD C. REDICK
Services
for Mrs. Clifford C. Redick, formerly of East Liverpool, who died
Tuesday in Martins Ferry, will be held Friday at 10 a. m. in the
Heslop Funeral Home in Martins Ferry by the Rev. Glenn Tennell, pastor
of the First Methodist Church. The body will be brought to East
Liverpool for burial in the afternoon at Riverview Cemetery.

JOSEPH
REESE
Joseph Brown
Reese, 74, of the Fredericktown Rd., died at his home Tuesday at 2
p.m. after taking ill earlier
He was born March
11, 1893, in New Matamoras, but had resided in the area 50
years. He had been a foreman at the Ohio Valley Gas Co.,
retiring in 1953. In recent years he had a farm at the corner of
the Duke-Vodrey Rd., near Calcutia.
Mr. Reese is
survived by his widow, Lula Louise Reese. The Celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary in January.
Also surviving
are two sons, Joseph Ray Resse and Richard M. Reese, both of East
Liverpool; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (June) May and Mrs. Robert (Alleen)
Turner, both of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Edmond (Billie) Mordas of
Northfield, Ohio; three brothers, Theordore R. Reese and James Reese
of East Liverpool and Chester Reese of New Matamoras: two sisters,
Miss Dolly Reese of East Liverpool and Mrs. Goldie Miller of
Bradenton, Fla., and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be
held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Corum Funeral Home in New
Matamoras. Burial will be there.

LYNN RHODES
Diana
Lynn Rhodes, 3 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rhodes of
Mineral Ridge, formerly of Chester, died at 4 p. m. in the Cleveland
Clinic following an illness since birth.
Surviving
are the parents; a sister, Patricia Ann Rhodes, at home, the maternal
grandparent's, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Daugherty of Chester, and paternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Worthy Rhodes of East Liverpool.
Services
will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home in Mineral
Ridge. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery near Chester.

CHARLES
ROGERS
Charles
Rogers, 76, of 16770 Etruria St., retired steel worker, died Saturday
at 11:30 a.m. in City Hospital, following a three month illness.
Mr.
Rogers was born in Pleasant Hill, W. Va., and came to East Liverpool
about 30 years ago. He was employed last by the Crucible Steel
Co. at Midland.
He
leaves a son, Ralph Rogers of East Liverpool; two daughters, Mrs.
Mabel Rardin of East Liverpool and Mrs. Lena Hall of Parkersburg,
W. Va.; three stepsons, Roy Cunningham and Perry Cunningham of
East Liverpool and Coleman Cunningham of Waverly; three sisters, Mrs.
Henrietta Lemley and Mrs. Zenia Higgins of East Liverpool and Mrs.
Sarah Lemley of Cairo, W. Va.; 12 grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren.
Rites
will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Martin Funeral Home by Rev.
Paul C. Bailey of the Boyce Church. Burial will be in Spring
Grove Cemetery.

ROGERS
Funeral
services were held in the Martin Funeral Home this morning for Charles
Rogers, 1670 Etruria St., who died Saturday in City Hospital.
Rev. Paul C. Bailey of the Boyce Methodist Church officiated.
Burial was in the Spring Grove Cemetery.
Mr.
Rogers was survived by a son, two daughters, three step-sons, three
sisters and two brothers, Frenzie Rogers of Wellsville and Robert
Rogers of Waverly, W. Va.

Death
Claims Unity Woman
Lorena
Rosenbaum Rites Set Saturday
EAST
PALENSTINE, July 28 (Special)-- Mrs. Lorena Rosenbaum, 51, wife of
Chauncey Rosenbaum of Unity Township, died Thursday at 4 p. m. in the
Central Clinic at Salem, where she had been a patient for about two
months.
A
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Foreman, she was born May 21, 1899, in
Fairfield township. She was married to Mr. Rosenbaum in 1939.
She
leaves by a former marriage, a son, James Stratton of Pasadena,
Calif., and a daughter Mrs. Edith Pedro of Enon Valley, Pa., and a
sister, Mrs. Faye Milligan in Canada.
Rites
will be held Saturday at 1 :30 p .m. in the Oliver Funeral Home by
Rev. Paul E. Baxter of the Church of the Nazarene.

SERGEANT
J. E. ROUSH
Services
will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Martin Funeral Home for
Sergeant Jack E. Roush, 21, tall gunner on a Flying Fortress, who lost
his life in a bombing mission on April 8, 1945, in Europe.
Burial will be in the Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Lieutenant
W. E. Wells, Jr, of Newell was pilot of the plane, which was based in
Enland and crashed on its 10th mission over Krusemark, Germany.
He
was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl C. Roush, 946 Bank St. and was
graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1942. He was a
student in Ohio State University when inducted. He held the
Purple Hearth, the Air Medal and a Presidential Citation. He was
a member of the First Church of Christ and Harding Chapter, Order of
Demolay.
He
leaves his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry T. Vess of East Liverpool,
and Mrs. Ethel Weddell of Los Angeles.
Rev.
D. Park Chapman, pastor of the First Church of Christ, will officiate.

Mrs.
Lucy Rushton
Mrs.
Lucy Rushton, the oldest member of East Liverpool Salvation Army, died
Sunday at 8:35 a. m. in City Hospital following an illness of two
years. She was 82
Mrs.
Rushton was born in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, and was a
resident of East Liverpool for 20 years. Widow of Albert Thomas
Rushton, she lived at 1845 Dresden Ave.
She
is survived by a son, Joseph Rushton of East Liverpool; two daughters,
Mrs. Sarah Oakes and Mrs. Marion Cox of East Liverpool; a sister,
Harriett Baggley in England, and 10 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
Services
will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel by
Brigadier Kate Hillman. Burial will be in Columbiana County
Memorial Park.
