Founded June 7, 1807
At one time also included Huron, Lake and Lorain Counties.

It is the most populous county in Ohio
The county seat and largest city is Cleveland.

The county is named after the Iroquoian word Cuyahoga, which means 'crooked river'.
The name is also assigned to the Cuyahoga River, which bisects the county.
