George Anschutz

A Bike Enthusiast at 80.

George T. Anschutz, of Washington Court House, Ohio, has ridden the same bicycle for 22 years, and has just issued a challenge to race any octogenarian in America. [New-York tribune , October 23, 1921, Page 2]

104 horses are entered in the races of the Fairmont Fair Association which will be the chief amusement here (Fairmont, WV) next week.  Altogether there are 170 entries in the eleven events and the local meeting, if the weather permits, will break all records for early racing.  This number is considered marvelous for a new track when Baltimore, an old established institution had but 138.  Every race that was carded filled and from the class of the horses, it may be seen that the best working at this time will appear here.  [A long list of names comes next, both human and equine...  listed here are just the folks from this county]
