E. Paul Morehouse Sr., 67, died Feb. 23, 1985 in Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.
Mr. Morehouse was born in Gallia County, Ohio. In 1978 he retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., where he was manager of Management Training. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Star Lodge No. 187 F&AM, Aroba Lodge, and the Valley of Akron Consistory 32nd. A graduate of Ohio Northern University, he received his masters degree from Kent State University. His fraternities were Delta Sigma Phi, Kappa Delta Pi, and Epsilon Pi Tau. He was a member of the Akron Board of Education for 27 years, setting a record for years of membership on the board. In 1982 he was one of five people selected for honorary membership on the All-Ohio School Board. He also was an Honorary Life Member of the PTA. During his career he was a member and active in Boys Scouts of America, YMCA, the Akron Regional Development Board, Ohio Association of Adult Education
Ohio School Management Institute, and the American Society of Management Training. He also was a guest speaker on management subjects at the University of Akron, Kent State University, University of Wisconsin
American Management Association, and the National Academy for School Administrators.
He is survived by his wife, Amy; son, E. Paul Jr. of Akron; daughters, Alyce and her husband, Dan Simmons of Mogadore, Elizabeth and her husband, Mark Meckler of Akron; grandchildren, Kathleen Wolfe, Dow Wolfe III, and Marc Meckler; and sisters, Pearl Allen of St. Clair, Mich., and Mabel Mohler of Rio Grande, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, TODAY, 4 to 8 p.m., Rev. Richard Carse will conduct services Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Chapel. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1236 Weathervane Lane, Suite 300C, Akron, 44313, or a favority charity.
