Grand Ridge

William Jenkins, of  Washington , was the guest of Joseph Hughes over Sabbath day.

Rev. G. G. Boyd, of this place and Rev. J..M. Wood, of near Cambridge , conducted the funeral services of Mrs. Redd.

Mrs. J. B. Hixon and son, Cyrus, who have been quite sick are now recovering.

Joseph Hughes Is somewhat improved from his recent Illness.

George Tedrtcfc Is now able to go about some.

Mr. S. Spear while engaged in hauling wood for Margaret Tildrick, fell on the ice and was so badly hurt as not to be
able to walk.

Good broom corn Is selling here as high  as $200. a ton.

John Slgman  who has been living near Cambridge is visiting his sister, Mrs. James Hughes.

The remains of J. Amos Tuttle, who died at the insane asylum in Columbus, Friday night, were brought here Saturday and taken to Antrim for interment.

Aliss Pearl Trott, aged about 14 years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Trott, of Pleasant City, died Sunday, aftr an illness of pneumonia lasting about two weeks.

Married Jan. 9, 1899, Mr. Cornelius R. Mercer and Mrs. Jane Turkle, at the home of the bride in Reno county, near Hutchinson, Kansas. Mr. Mercer is a citizen of Guernsey county, and his many friends in Cambridge and vicinity extend congratulations to him and his bride.

Alf S. Beymer, tailor, and Miss Rose Riley married Jan 10, 1900 by Rev. Father Wagner.

Funeral of  Mrs. B. F. Johnson, was held Jan 5, at 1 o'clock. Burial in Northwood cemetery.

Funeral services were cinducted Tuesday for Edward G. Urban.

Samuel Young and Miss Marry J. LePage were married last evening by Rev. Dr. McFarland

Married Charles A. Langley and Miss Cora Craig on Wednesday Jan. 3rd.

Robert Madden one of our oldest citizens has been seriously ill for some daye.

Pleasant Valley

Mrs. M. L. Rush is improving some after suffering an attack of rheumatism.

J. Clark is suffering an attack of la grippe.

Jan 18, 1900

Joseph Morris, aged about 80 years, a prominent coal operator, died Monday at his home in Post Boy?. Deceased was well known in this city. The funeral will be conducted at 10 o'clock Wednesday.

Married on Jan 10, 1900 Mr. Elias D. St. Clair & Miss Alma Bean, by Rev. O. S. B. Grimsley.

 

Noah Hyatt reached his 90th birthday, Thursday Jan. 11th. He did not celebrate in a formal manner his arrival at this great age, except by the presence of his children and such old friends called to congratulate. He came to Cambridge April 2, 1830, almost seventy years ago and has lived an active, upright life during all these years. He was a good business man and but recently quit active employment. Not only his descendents but the people of Cambridge generally "rise up to call him blessed" and wish him many returns of his birthday.

Mr. Charlie Ross, telegraph operator & Miss Flo Albaugh were married Jan. 10th in Chicago.

Marriage Notices

Cambridge, Jan 20- Wayne L. Wilson, joined the United States Navy, as a radio operator and was assigned to a vessel in the San Francisco harbor. Later he was made a sargeant and wrote his parents, mr. and mrs. L. H. Wilson of this city, that he expected to see active service soon, but in his first engagement he was captured, according to cards received here announcing his marriage to Miss Winifred Aubertine of San Francisco.
