Beghtol, Pectol
I am seeking information on an early family of
Losantiville and Cincinnati by the name of Beghtol or
Bechtel, which may have also been known under the names Bechtle, Pectol, Peshal
or Pestle. Legend has it that in about 1776, just after the Revolution, three
brothers came from Germany and settled in the area where Cincinnati now stands.
One brother and his family were later in a boat which capsized in the river in
which he drowned. His wife and young children made it to shore and became
the first woman and children in the settlement of Losantiville (Cincinnati), which was just
being built at the time. They were supposedly given land that is now in
the central part of Cincinnati.

Eickbusch
I am looking for any
information on this family. Henry and Sophia were in the 1850 Hamilton County
census along with their first son, Henry (William). In 1860 they appeared
again and had two more daughters, Mary and Caroline. In the 1870 census the
children were living on their own along with two new brothers, John and
Charles. Charles in the youngest, born 1866. Something happened to Henry and
Sophia between 1866 and 1870, but I can not locate anything on them other than
these census records.
Their son, Harry (William
or August depending on which census) moved to Indiana around 1890 and is the
father of my great grandfather. Any help is greatly appreciated.

| Bouchard
I should be grateful for any further
information about Edwin Bouchard b 1833, Alfred b 1828 or their parents
Peter and Sarah (nee Robelou) Bouchard They and other members of the family
migrated from London to Cincinnati and Columbia, Hamilton County, Ohio in
the 1850's. During the Civil War, Edwin was first a member of Benton
Cadets but, after that unit was disbanded, enlisted in M Company, 5th Ohio
Cavalry, 19 September 1862 - to join, I believe, a nephew, John who was a
bugler. Edwin spent many years in Dayton
National Soldiers Home to die and be buried in the Cemetery there in 1911.

Guy, Leonarkis
I am writing in hopes of finding info re: my Father's parents.
Ancestry.com shows her name (Genevieve Guy) occasionally with a family
from Ohio. This is where my father was born in 1921 (George Talbot
Leonarkis). I have citizenship papers for her stating she is from
Greece.
My Grandfather came from Crete, but it was always thought that she was
born to US citizens?? Her name was Genevieve(Genevieze) Guy. Her
parents Frank and Anna Guy--we think? There is NO info. on Frank Guy.
Maybe he changed his name--maybe he came from Greece??
If she is supposedly a US citizen why would she have citizenship
papers?? She married Joseph Leonarkis--immigrant from Crete. He
immigrated in 1910 to the US. They are also listed under the last name
of "LEON" for some reason. They had a daughter named Marie A Leon in
1920 and a son George Talbot Leonarkis in 1921--my Father.
We have a christening paper for Marie stating something about Frank
Guy being a witness.
We have citizenship papers for Joseph, May 1937 and Genevieve, May 25,
1936.
Thank you for any help!
