| Oct 11, 1955 Lima News Rites for H. Floyd Sailor, 71, of Lakewood, who died Sunday, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Schindewolf-Steiner-Stevens Funeral home here. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery. He was born in Carey. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. His widow the former Clarabelle Haudenschild of Kenton survives. Nov 10, 1947 Edward Bronson, 87, native of Dunkirk, died Saturday in Flint, Mich., where he had lived for 10 years. Only distant relatives survive, Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Keiper funeral home, Dunkirk, with the Methodist minister in charge. Burial will be in Dunkirk cemetery. Oct 13, 1955 Rites for Walter E. Burkart, 68, native of Kenton who died at his home in Jamaica, N.Y., Tuesday, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here with the Rev. Vincent Mooney in charge. burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Schindewolf-Steiner- Stevens Funeral Home is in charge. He was born in Kenton Nov. 19, 1886. He was a WWI veteran and a member of the Catholic Church. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Mary B. Campbell of Los Angeles. Oct 11, 1955 Arrangements for last rites are incomplete here for William R. Main, 53, of 218 E. Montford ave, Ada., recreation room proprietor. Mr. Main died at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday in Lima Memorial Hospital after becoming ill Monday afternoon. Cause of his death was not determined immediately. The body was removed to the Preston Funeral Home pending completion of arrangements. Oct 11, 1955 Rites for Ed Collins, 67, of Berwyn, Ill., former city editor of the Kenton Daily Democrat and former commanding officer of Co. I, Second Ohio Infantry, who died Sunday, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grove Cemetery with American Legion post in charge of rites. The body will arrive at Price Funeral Home Tuesday. He commanded Co. I when it was mustered into the U.S. Army in WWI, then was promoted to the rank of major. He was city editor of the paper before going into the service. He was born in Kenton June 7, 1888, was a member of the Masonic Lodge here and the American Legion at Berwyn, Ill. He was married to Hazel Traeger 40 years ago. Surviving are his widow; three daughters, three sisters and five grandchildren. April 26, 1940 Kenton- Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Minnie Ripley Burnison, 78, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dora Kurt of Blanchard Station, near here, with Rev. Mark E. Lutman, pastor of the Dunkirk United Brethren church in charge. Burial will be in Dunkirk cemetery. Mrs. Burnison died at Mrs. Kurt's home Thursday after a two-week illness. The Lima News Martha B. Hatcher, 90, died at 6: 55 a.m. Mar. 1, 2005, at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Silver Creek United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mark Burden will officiate. Burial will be in Norman Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Arrangements are by Schindewolf- Stevens- Stout Funeral Home. The Lima News Beverly J Spradlin Sanders, 69, died at 12:30 a.m. Mar. 8, 2005, at her sister's residence in Kenton. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger. The Rev. Ronald Fry will officiate. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Friends may call from 3 to 8 today and until time of services Thursday at the funeral home. The Lima News Kenton - Former Four Acre resident Clarence (Fogle) Freshcorn, 95, died Tuesday afternoon at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was born Mar. 2, 1890 in McDonald Township, Hardin County, the son of Lewis and Mary (McClurg) Freshcorn. Mr. Freshcorn was a retired farmer. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Home, Kenton. The Rev. John Kemmere officiating. Burial will be in Fairview-McDonald Cemetery. Friends may call until 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and until time of services Thursday at the funeral home. The Lima News - Feb. 11, 1941 Kenton Services for George Bloom, 83, of Kenton, who died at the county home here late Saturday, were held today at 130 p.m. at the Schindewolf funeral home here. Rev. Herbert E. Pfister, pastor of St. John Evangelical Reformed church, was in charge. Burial will be in Grove cemetery. Surviving are one son Frederick of Cleveland; one sister, Mrs. Nicholas Lotz of Kenton, one niece and two nephews. The Lima News - Feb. 12, 1941 Kenton Thursday at 2:30 p.m. services will be held for Mrs. Sophia Bacon, 59, who died at Antonio hospital late Monday after a year's illness. Rev. A. A. Ames, pastor of the Kenton Church of Christ, will officiate at the Porter funeral home. Burial will be in Norman cemetery. She was married to Ora C. Bacon, who died in 1936. Surviving are three sons, Calvin, Eber and Harry all of Kenton; two brothers, John and William Zurcher, both of Kenton, and five grandchildren. The Lima News Jan. 5, 1946 Kenton Curtis Bailey, 76, of Taylor Creek-tp, died at the Hardin-co hospital Thursday morning after a several month's illness. Born Sept. 12, 1869 he had been a lifetime resident of that township where he was a farmer. He is survived by one son Robert of Kenton, and one granddaughter. Services were to be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from Schindewolf funeral home.
