Sarah A. Aldrich
Ada, Feb 22-- Mrs. Sarah A. Aldrich, 80, native of Allen-co, died today at the Lyle convalescent home in Dunkirk after a year's illness with complication of diseases. She is survived by three sons, Charles of Clarksville, Pa., and A. C. and William Aldrich both of Lima; three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Hannah and Mrs. Edith Miller, both of Lorain, and Mrs. Sylvia Oakes of Elyria; and two brothers, William Shrider of Bluffton and John Shrider of Fostoria. The body will remain at the Lantz mortuary here until time for services which will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Ada Church of Christ, of which she was a member. Rev. L. N. Moore will officiate and burial will be in Candler cemetery.

Billy G. Allen
DUNKIRK -- Billy G. Allen, 87, died at 11:32 p.m. April 24, 2011, at Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Kenton. He was born Dec. 1, 1923, in McGuffey to Eric and Martha Basore Allen, who preceded him in death. On March 28, married Betty Jean Fulton, who survives in Dunkirk.
Mr. Allen was a carpenter for 41 years, working out of International Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 372, Lima, where he was a member for 65 years. He was a 1941 graduate of McGuffey High School. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer for 28 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 75th Division in Europe, where he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the French Medal of Valor. He was a member of the 75th Division Association, the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. He was also a member of the Dunkirk Community Improvement Corp. and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3861, both in Dunkirk. He served six years on the board of the American Cancer Society, four years on the board of public affairs and 18 years on the Dunkirk Village Council. Survivors also include a daughter, Terry Cramer, of Dunkirk, a son, Bill (Theresa) Allen, of Dunkirk; four grandchildren, Jorden (Jason Conley) Cramer, Lacey (Jason) Weihrauch and Bill Allen and Taylor Allen, all of Dunkirk; a sister, Sharon Preston, of McGuffey; and two brothers, Joe Allen, of McGuffey, and Jack (Janet) Allen, of Kenton. Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday in Dunkirk Cemetery, with military rites by AMVETS Post 1994.

Edgar Allen
RIDGEWAY, April 1 — Edgar Allen of Ridgeway died in Antonio hospital in Kenton Tuesday morning after an illness of several weeks. Allen is survived by his widow and a number of children. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Friday at the late home here. Burial will be in Ridgeway cemetery.

ANSPACH—The body of Mrs. Samantha Anspach, who died suddenly Sunday night, will be accompanied to her old home near Ada tomorrow afternoon and services will be held at the Reformed church. Interment will be in St. Paul 's cemetery, near Ada .

Oscar N. Armstrong
ALGER. March 11—Funeral services will be held at 12 p. m. Tuesday at the Alger Central Methodist church for Oscar N. Armstrong, 80, who died late Saturday night. Rev. A. E. Olliver, pastor of the Ridgeway Methodist church will officiate. He was born in Hardin-co., January 15, 1860, son of George and Rachel Baker Armstrong. Armstrong was a life long resident of Hardin-co.
Surviving are his widow, Alta; a sister, Mrs. Fannie Baker, of Grant: three step-sons, Lewis Powell, of Columbus ; a step-daughter, Mrs. James Tidd, of Alger and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Grove cemetery, Kenton.
