George Ferner

Kenton - Funeral services for George Ferner, 86, well known Pleasant-tp, Hardin-co man who died Sunday in the County hospital, were held today at 9 a.m. at the Church of Immaculate Conception here with Re. Fr. H.J. Schumacher, pastor, in charge. Burial was made in St. Marys cemetery here. Ferner was born in New York City on Apr 23, 1853, but had lived practically all his life here. He was married to Syvilla Dehl and was a member of the Church of Immaculate Conception here. Surviving are one son, John Ferner of Toledo, and two sisters, Barbara Cook of Kenton and Syvilla Marshall of Forest. A son Frank Ferner, died in 1937. A sister and three brothers also preceded him in death. A number of nieces and nephews survive.

William H. Fisher
Kenton - William H. Fisher, 80, prominent Kenton resident, died here today after a brief illness with complications. He was familiarly known to Hardin-co people having served for more than 12 years as custodian of grounds during the annual Hardin-co chautauquas. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon in charge of Rev. G. L. Burdhard, pastor of the Church of Christ of which the deceased was log a member. Burial will be in Grove cemetery. The widow, three daughters, two sons and nine grandchildren survive. [Lima News Jan 2, 1930]

Mary J. Fite
Last rites will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at 678 N. McDonel-st with Rev. E. J. Penhorwood, pastor of the South Side Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Hassen cemetery, Ada with arrangements in charge of the Siferd and Son funeral home.

Capt. James R. Fitzpatrick
KENTON, May 6—The body of Capt. James R. Fitzpatrick who was killed in action in India in 1944, has arrived in the United States. Preparations are being made for funeral services, his widow, Mrs. Edithe A. Fitzpatrick, of Route 1. Kenton, was advised in a telegram Friday. The burial will be in the Rock Island National cemetery at Rock Island, Ill, at a date which will be announced later. Full military honors will be conducted by military personnel. In addition to the widow, those surviving are his mother, Mrs. Flo Fitzpatrick. Kenton; his father, R. G. Fitzpatrick, Kenton; one sister, Ruth, also of Kenton, and two brothers, Forrest Fitzpatrick of Boston and Clarence of Lima.

Samuel Fogle, Jr.
Kenton- Funeral services for Samuel Fogle, Jr., 12, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Fogle, Sr., of 307 Gilbert-st, Kenton, who met almost instant death late Saturday when he was struck by an automobile just south of Kenton on Route 31, was held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at the late home with Rev. Ward in charge. Burial was in Fulton cemetery, Hardin-co. The youth was born in Hardin-co, April 29, 1926, and had lived here all his life. He is survived by his parents; three sisters, Catherine Berry and Mable Thompson, both of Kenton, and Mildred at home, and three brothers, Floyd, Edward and Francis all of Kenton. The Hanson funeral home at Alger was in charge of arrangements.

Jacob D. Ford
Jacob D. Ford, 88, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday in the home of a son, Jesse C., Lima, after a long illness. A native of Perry-co, Mr. ford was a retired farmer and had lived in Lima four years. Also surviving are another son, Howard A., of Deland, Fla; three daughters; Mrs. Nancy A. Dodds, Belle Center; Mrs. Rachel Tracy, Huntsville; and Mrs. Ethel Zimmerman, Groveport; 32 grandchildren, and 64 great-grandchildren. The body will remain in Chiles and Son funeral home for services at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Paul Graeser will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery, near Alger.

Sarah Angeline Ford
Mrs. Sarah Angeline Ford, 67, of Hardin-co, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Zimmerman of High-st, Lima, Saturday morning. She was the sister of A. J. Gray, county commissioner. She was born in Logan-co, Aug 15, 1857, the daughter of Mathias and Febbie Glen Gray. Mrs. Ford came to Lima to spend the winter. She had been in failing health for some time. Funeral and burial will be in Pleasant Hill, Hardin-co, Monday at 10 a.m.
Surviving relatives are her husband, Herman Ford, A. J. Gray; sons; Howard of Columbus; John and William, both of Lima; four daughters, Mrs Eva Shepherd, Mrs. Ethel Zimmerman, Lima; Mrs. Leona White, Trumbull-co, and Mrs.Rachel Tracy, Indian Lake.

Kenton - Funeral services were held in Delaware for William H. Ford, 81, veteran insurance man. Dr. Rollin H. Walker officiated at the rites at the Robinson-Bracney funeral home and burial was in Urbana. Surviving are four nieces, Mrs. Rose Quinn Seitz. Mrs. Mary Ford Wallick, Mrs. William M. Hamilton and Miss Mallie Ford Wise; one nephew, Ford Gramlich, and a brother in law, Henry Gramlich, veteran Kenton banker.

Ray R. Foster
Kenton - Ray R. Foster, 63, died at 5:15 this morning in Hardin Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Surviving are his wife Kathryn; a daughter, Judith Tackett of Lima; and two grandchildren. There will be no services or calling hours. The body has been donated to the Ohio State Medical College, College, for research.

Carroll "Cookie" Fox, 89, died at 1:25 a.m. Mar 4, 2005 at Beverly Health Care, Lima. Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday in Dunkirk Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until time of services Monday at Price Funeral Home.

Robert E. Frater
Memorial services for Robert E. Frater will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Dunkirk by the Revs. Vernon LaSala and Linda Stafford.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of services at the church.
He died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at his home.
He was born July 24, 1945 in Kenton to Earl and Irene M. (Williams) Frater Jr. He married his wife on May 3, 1969 and she survives in Dunkirk.
Also surviving are a daughter, two sons, two grandchildren, four brothers, a sister-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
He was a semi truck driver. He worked at Cooper Tire in Findlay, International Paper in Kenton and was a self-employed scissors sharpener.
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Dunkirk.
He was also a member of the Ada VFW and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967, where he was stationed in Germany.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also loved being outdoors and life. He was an avid football fan.
The Price Funeral Home of Dunkirk is handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to the Gideons or the Grace United Methodist Church.

Clarence (Fogle) Freshcorn
Kenton - Former Four Acre resident Clarence (Fogle) Freshcorn, 95, died Tuesday afternoon at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was born Mar. 2, 1890 in McDonald Township, Hardin County, the son of Lewis and Mary (McClurg) Freshcorn. Mr. Freshcorn was a retired farmer. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Home, Kenton. The Rev. John Kemmere officiating. Burial will be in Fairview-McDonald Cemetery. Friends may call until 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
