PIONEER WOMAN DIES AT 106 YEARS OF AGE
MRS ELIZABETH COLSON OLDEST WOMAN OF COUNTY PASSED AWAY AT OAK HILL.

Had lived during twenty two Presidential Administration
Born soon after the War of 1812, the earthly correct, Mrs Elizabeth
Colson
was buried Thursday of last week. The funeral services were held at
The
Free Will Baptists Church in Coalton. Rev R I Farney officiating.
Burial was
in the Coalton Cemetery. Elizabeth Colson was 108 years old and was
probably
the oldest voter in Ohio, at the recent election when she went to the
Polls.
She was born in Greenbriar County, Va and her memory went back into
distant
times when Indians were still hunting on the land and when bears and
boars
were roaming the forest and hills of the county.
Mrs Colson was twice married,her first husband being Amos Canter and
after
his death she was married to Jack Colson with whom she lived several
years
at Coalton. She was the mother of eleven children with whom eight
survived.
