JOHN ALEXANDER ERVIN DIES AT CHILLICOTHE
John Alexander Ervin died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. L. Miller, of 228 East Main Street, Chillicothe, Wednesday evening Feb 24, at 4:05 o'clock of heart trouble after an illness of several months.
He was born December 25, 1846, and was aged 68 years, 1 month, and 29 days. He was a member of the Masons, Odd Fellows and K of P lodges and belonged to the Church of Christ. There survives a wife, two daughters, Mrs. Guy Hall and Mrs. C. L. Miller of this city; four brothers J. M. of Columbus, Robert and Thomas of Wellston and Edward of Jackson, five sisters, Mrs. Mary Leach, Mrs. Elizabeth Freeborn of Jackson, Mrs. Mattie Tyers of Schooley's, Mrs. Sarah Arnold of Leo, Ohio and Mrs. Margaret Green; two grandchildren, Mrs. Marian Corcoran, Carlyle Miller of this city and one great grandchild.
He lived in this county, at Leo and Wellston, where he followed the occupation of blacksmith and was respected by all for his devotion to duty. He funeral was held Feb. 26.
