LONG ILLNESS PROVES FATAL

Mother of Jackson Physician Dies
in Wellston

An extended illness during which she suffered from paralysis and heart trouble ended in death Saturday morning for Mrs. Effie May Fitzpatrick, mother of Dr. C. C. Fitzpatrick, of Jackson. She died at her home in Wellston following two heart attacks suffered during the past week.

Born in the Winchester neighborhood, the daughter of the late Armstead and Clarissa Scurlock, she spent all of her life in this county. Following her marriage to Dr. C. E. Fitzpatrick in 1890, she moved to Wellston where she lived throughout the remainder of her life. Her husband is a prominent dentist.

She leaves her husband and one son, Dr. Fitzpatrick of Jackson; one brother, Emerson Scurlock of Winchester; and two sisters, Mrs. John A. McGhee of Jackson; and Mrs. J. C. Hippel of Teague, Texas.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick was a member of the Wellston M. E. church and attended services regularly until shortly before her death.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the home with the Rev. O. L. Hall officiating. Burial followed in Ridgewood cemetery, Wellston.
