Mrs. Elizabeth N. Jones passed away at her home near Samsonville, Wednesday, Feb. 22nd 1905 after a lingering illness of many months. She was born at Cardiganshire, near Blangeitho, South Wales, May 3rd 1828, being the sixth of nine children born to David and Elizabeth Griffith. In the year of 1838, when she was ten years of age she emigrated with her parents to America. After landing in New York they came direct to the state of Ohio, locating near Cambria furnace in Jackson County. November 1st 1854, she was united in marriage to Evan N. Jones who died December 23 1897. Eight children were born to them, four of whom survive. The departed was a faithful and consistent member of C. M. church at Bethel. In the commuity she was quiet and inoffensive and highly respected by all. During the past two years she had suffered quite a good deal, but uncomplainingly and with patience and fortitude. At the time of her death she was aged 76 years 9 months and 19 days. The funeral occurred at Bethel Friday at 10:30 a.m. and was largely attended. The services were conducted by Rev. David Thomas assisted by Revs. H. F. Williams, Wm. R. Evans and John M. Jones. Those surviving to mourn are four children, one brother, two grand children and other relatives and friends.
