ALEXANDER LACKEY DIED

LACKEY - September 22, 1875, near Vega, Jackson county, Ohio, Alexander Lackey, in the seventy-third year of his age.

In 1829 he married Catharine Stoker with whom he lived near forty-seven years. Of six children, one daughter, and two sons with their widowed mother, besides numerous other relatives, are left to mourn.

Three daughters, having preceded him to that "better land". He was a kind husband, and father, and an agreeable neighbor. He was not a member of any church, but claimed to be a firm believer in the teachings of the Bible. He was an invalid over five years, at times suffering severely and often expressed a willingness to depart and be at rest.

His funeral sermon was preached by Rev. J. D. Hathaway, from Job xiv chap. 10 verse, after which his remains were deposited in the cemetery at Pleasant Hill.
