Lakeview

Funeral services for Thomas R. Ferguson, 55, of Huntsville Route 1, who died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at his residence, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Van Horn funeral home here. Burial will be in Huntsville cemetery. Ferguson, formerly of Detroit, has resided near Huntsville only a short time. He is survived by his widow, Mary, and two daughters, Mrs. Marian Miller and Miss Jo Ann Ferguson, both of Huntsville; three sons William H. now serving overseas, Raymond and Lawrence both of Huntsville; his mother, Mrs. Clayanna (Myers) Ferguson, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell, both of Springfield, and two grandchildren. The body will remain at the funeral home.

Lakeview

Mrs. Eliza V. Miller, 83, died at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, mrs. Goldie Shades, Huntsville, following a short illness. Mrs. Miller is survived by the following children, Mrs. Edna Buck, Delbertsdale, Ala., Noleman Miller, Highland, Ind., Everett Miller, Detroit, Mich., Otto Miller, Fordsville, Ky., and Mrs. Goldie Shades, Huntsville Route 1. There are also three brothers, Joseph, Benjamin and Bellamy of Whiteville, Ky, There are 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The body will remain at the Van Horn funeral home in Lakeview from where it will be sent to Fordsville, Ky., for burial.

Funeral services for Lt. Alvin Hull, 21, who was killed in an airplane crash at Gardner Field, Calif., Jan. 7, will be held in the Lakeview Methodist church at 3 p.m. Sunday with Rev. W. H. Fields of Springfield, O., officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville cemetery. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Hull of Lakeview; one brother James at home;  one half sister, Mrs. Henry Shepherd, also of Lakeview, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Flanick of Akron. Arrangements are in charge of Van Horn funeral home.

Funeral services for J. R. Beatley, 56, owner of Beatley's hotel on Indian Lake and part owner of the Milner hotel, recently destroyed by fire, who died at 7 a.m. Thursday in Mary Rutan hospital in Bellefontaine, will be held at 2: 30 p.m. Sunday at the residence in Russells Point. Rev. L. L. Cooperrider of the Community Church in Russells Point, will officiate. Beatley born in Columbus, took up residence at Lakeview, in 1913 and was affiliated with the Russells Point Hotel until 1921 when he became manager of his own Beatley hotel there. He was a member of the Russells Point Community church and the Bellefontaine Elks Lodge. He was also part owner of the People's Commercial-bldg in Bellfontaine. Beatley is survived by his widow Lillian, one son Jack, both of Lakeview; two brothers, Donald and Lewis, both of Sacramento, Calif., and a cousin, Mrs. Dora Mueller of Russells Point.

Jesse Gramp Darling, 71, died at 11 a.m. Friday in his home at Bloom Center. He is survived by his widow, Margaret, three sons. Russell of Sidney, Everett of Bloom Center and Cpl. Jack with the AAF in Florida; three daughters, Mrs. Clifford Clay of Bellefontaine and Mrs. Jack Wicker and Mrs. Robert Hick of Cleveland; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Newton of Latham and William od Aid, O. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the residence in Bloom Center, Rev. Harvey H. McPheron of Huntsville officiating. Burial in Plum cemetery.
