Charles Henry Snyder
Charles H. Snyder, 62, of 358 Warden avenue died at Elyria Memorial Hospital at 5:30 p.m. yesterday, following a week's illness.
Born in Rochester, Ohio, on April 22, 1888, Mr. Snyder had lived in Elyria for 39 years and was employed by the Troxel Manufacturing Company. He was a veteran of World War I, having served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
Surviving Mr. Snyder are his wife, Estella E.; two brothers, Arthur of Wellington and harry of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and one sister, Mrs. Rena Scott of Elyria.
Friends may call at the Sudro-Curtis Funeral Home, where the Rev. D. O. McCamy, pastor of the United Presbyterian church, will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the soldiers' plot at Ridgelawn cemetery. [Elyria Chronicle Telegram, Jan 15,1951, p2]

Betty J. (Arthurs) Stanley
CLARKSFIELD - Betty J. (Arthurs) Stanley, age 84, of Clarksfield, died Thursday, June 10, 2010, at her home.
She was born on April 5, 1926 in Carter County, Kentucky. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in South Amherst. She was a homemaker who loved going to garage sales and flea markets.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Argil Stanley, her children, Joe (Sandy) Stanley, of Greenwich, Derral (Karen) Stanley, of Greenwich, Argil K. (Chris) Stanley, of Norwalk, Tom (Annie) Stanley, of Oberlin, Richard (Kay) Stanley, of Wakeman, Marilyn (Tim) Slater, of New London, Ronald (Marlene) Stanley, of Berlin Heights, and Eileen (Ken) Harrison, of Sullivan, a sister Alberta Winters, of Missouri, 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren , one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Roscoe and Oma (Conley) Arthurs, a son James Stanley, sisters Carrie Cundiff, Louise McDonald, and Della Skeen, and her brothers, John, Sherwood, James and Paul Arthurs.
Friends may call on Saturday, June 12, at the Grace Baptist Church, 500 West Main Street, South Amherst from 11 am until the time of services at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in South Amherst. Food and fellowship will follow at the church. [Unknown source - Contributed by Susan Bliss]
