A Part of Genealogy Trails

Welcome to
Lucas County, Ohio

This County Website is currently
Up for Adoption.

Our goal is to help you track your ancestors through time by transcribing genealogical and historical data for the free use of all researchers.

We're looking for folks who share our dedication to putting data online and are interested in helping this project be as successful as it can be. If you are interested in joining Genealogy Trails, view our
Volunteer Page for further information and then contact Kim.
(Enough knowledge to make a basic webpage and a desire to transcribe data is required)

On June 20, 1835, the Ohio government established Lucas County. Residents chose the name Lucas in honor of Robert Lucas, the governor of Ohio. Lucas County was part of the territory that came under dispute between Ohio and Michigan during the "Toledo War." Previous to the Toledo War, Lucas County was the sight of the Battle of Fallen Timbers. Lucas County is located in the northwestern portion of Ohio
