We'll try and sort these in alpha order of the first surname mentioned in the story

Dr. J.M. Holland is up from Denver looking after work on the George Washing, Mountain Lion, and Comstock lodes west of town.  Mr. C.P. Curtis of Toledo, Ohio, is interested with the Doctor in the George Washington lode, and it is the intention to prosecute work on it vigorously during the summer.
[Sunshine Courier (Boulder County, CO) Friday, June 8, 1878]

Mr. and Mrs. C.L.
Royer, of Toledo, Ohio were visitors in the city, Friday afternoon enroute to Chicago. "Jack" was driving a new Nash car and had prosperity written all over him. He was the same jolly good fellow and said he still had a warm spot in his heart for Oakland. Ye editor always thought a heap of "Jack" Royer as he was a true blue gentleman, a booster for the old home town and a prince of good fellows. We wish him all the luck in the world and hope he comes back again and often. [Thursday March 12, 1925 - Submitted by Connie Tyree]
