Paul Lanham Duffee

Former St. Marys resident Paul Lanham Duffee, 70, was pronounced dead March 29 at his residence at 1119 Millpark Drive, Dayton.
 He was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Corsicana, Texas, to Paul Y. and S. Catherine (Lanham) Duffee.
 Survivors include a son and his wife, Michael and Regina of Taunton, Mass., and twin grandchildren.
 Deceased is a sister, Patricia A. Duffee.
 He was a graphics artist and was employed at the following: assistant art director at both American Greeting, Cleveland, and Rust Craft, Dedham, Mass., creative art director at E.F. MacDonald Co., Dayton, graphics design at both Fort Knox Army Base in Kentucky, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Air Force Institute of Technology, Fairborn, and art director at Wright Patterson Air Force Base campus. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Leonard’s Catholic Church, Dayton, and was a graduate of Philadelphia Museum College of Art and Central High School, Corsicana, Texas.
 Graveside services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. David A. Heinl officiating.

Edith Foor
 Edith L. Foor, 86, 911 W. Spring St., St. Marys, died at 7:56 p.m. March 31 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
 She was born April 8, 1914, in Warsaw, Ky., to John C. and Ella (Hill) Cox. On April 27, 1935, she married Donald D. Foor, who died Oct. 8, 1983.
 Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Glenda and Jerry Walter, St. Marys; a daughter, Donna Jean of St. Marys; a brother and his wife, Joe B. and Nancy Cox, Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
 Deceased is a sister, Ruth Christopher.
 She was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St. Marys, and was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys. She was a 1932 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.
 Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. David L. Woodyard officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
 Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mary Grillot
 Former Minster and Russia resident, Mary A. Grillot, 88, died at 2:10 a.m. April 1 at Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney, where she was a resident.
 She was born Feb. 22, 1913, in Burkettsville, to William and Thecla (Nau) Hemmelgarn. On June 1, 1937, she married Joseph Oswald Grillot, who died Feb. 25, 1974.
 Survivors are eight daughters and their husbands, Annette and Jerome Goldschmidt, Potomac, Md., Patricia and Ronald Francis, Mary Jo and Robert Enneking, and Louise and Raymond Koenig, all of Sidney, Carol and Robert Huecker, Minster, Joan and Michael Donauer, Tipp City, Barbara and Daniel Creagan, Cornwall, N.Y., and Nancy and Lynn Maurer, Botkins; a sister, Luella Gagel, St. Marys; 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
 Deceased are two brothers, five sisters, a grandchild, and two great-grandchildren.
 She was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster and Minster Historical Society. She was a former member of St. Remy Church, Russia.
 Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. William Hoyng officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
 Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.

Kristin Klosterman
  Kristin Ann Klosterman, 12, died of natural causes at 3 p.m. March 31 at her residence at 4424 Harrison Road, Celina.
 She was born Jan. 28, 1989, in Coldwater, to Terance and Angela (Budde) Klosterman, both of whom survive.
 Other survivors include two sisters, Jamie and Julie, both at home; grandparents, Elmer and Eulalia Klosterman, and William and Kathleen Freeman, all of Celina; and great-grandmothers, Margaret Pohl, Versailles, and Esther Freeman, Celina.
 She was a sixth grade student at Celina Intermediate School, and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Montezuma, and Franklin 4-H Clovers. She was Mass server at the church.
 Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. James Dugal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
 Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
 In lieu of flowers, the family requests friends to say a prayer for them or to make a donation to a charity.

Fred Langdon
 Fred S. Langdon, 85, 826 Linden Ave., Celina, died at 7:15 a.m. April 2 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
 He was born Feb. 8, 1916, in Addison, to Ernest E. and Edith (Swisher) Langdon. On June 9, 1946, he married Vera L. Wilde, who survives.
 Other survivors are a daughter and her husband, Sue Ann and Mark Zorko, Hawthorn Woods, Ill.; a sister and her husband, Marie and Rev. William Mueller, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; two sisters, Dorothy Langdon, Columbus, and Georgia Greene, Jackson; and two grandchildren.
 Deceased are two brothers.
 He was a partner of Barnhart and Langdon Firestone in Sidney, and was retired from Wolff Tire Service, Celina. He was a U.S. Air Corp Captain in the Pacific Theater, and a communication officer for the 424th bomber squadron with the 13th Air Force. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Celina, American Legion, Celina, Sidney chapter of Free and Accepted Masons, and a former member of Celina Lions Club.
 Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Kathleen Hayes officiating. Burial is at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
 Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, and after 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Dorothy Rammel
 Former St. Henry resident Dorothy A. Rammel, 75, Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater, died at 8:15 a.m. March 31 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
 She was born Nov. 14, 1925, in St. Henry, to Charles and Josephine (Garman) Rammel.
 Survivors include two sisters and their husbands, Charlyn and Ralph ‘Cappy’ Stammen, and Kathleen and Gene Buschur, all of Coldwater; a sister, Ruth Hartke, Dayton; two brothers and their wives, Maurice and Joan of St. Marys, and Kenneth and Shirley of St. Henry.
 Deceased is a brother-in-law, Sylvester Hartke.
 She was retired from Hemmelgarn and Sons, Inc., Philothea, and was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and its Daughters of Isabella and Rosary Altar Sodality.
 Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Eloise McKinney
 Eloise McKinney, 82, 255 Northway Drive, St. Marys, died at 5:56 p.m. March 31 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
 She was born July 23, 1918, in Lexy, Ga., to Joseph and Lottie (McKinzie) Wynn. On May 11, 1935, she married Paul A. McKinney Sr., who died Oct. 4, 1997.
 Survivors are a son, Paul A. Jr. of St. Marys; two daughters, Mildred E. Hussey and Janice L. Brown, both of St. Marys; a brother and his wife, O.B. and Beryl Wynn, Auburndale, Fla.; a sister, Myrle Smith, Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; 9 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a brother, Joseph Franklin Wynn, and two sisters, Kathrine Vondell Welch and Marjorie Powell.
 She was retired from the trimming department at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., and was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, both of St. Marys.
 Private family services were held at Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. David L. Woodyard officiated. Burial was at Resthaven Memory Gardens, St. Marys.

Elmina Rogers
 Elmina Rogers, 88, 803 S. Wayne St., St. Marys, died at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, of injuries sustained in a house fire at 6:48 p.m. April 1.
 She was born Oct. 7, 1912, in St. Marys, to Herb and Dora (Koehn) Makley. On June 27, 1940, she married Robert ‘Buck’ Rogers, who died March 29, 1985.
 Survivors are a son, Philip of St. Marys; a daughter and her husband, Jane and Ned Bushong, Lima; and a sister, Alberta Hale, Lima.
 Deceased are two sons, James and Herb, two sisters, Clara Thompson and Ruth Carson, and a brother, Phil Makley.
 She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its Altar Sodality, St. Marys. She was a 1930 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.
 Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Heinl officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.

Martha Thobe
 Martha J. Thobe, 76, 8950 Fort Recovery-Minster Road, Minster, died at 4:13 p.m. April 2 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
 She was born Feb. 15, 1925, in Burkettsville, to Henry and Elizabeth (Geier) Geise. On April 7, 1945, she married Wilbur J. Thobe, who survives.
 Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Kenneth and Linda of Minster, and James F. and Jeannie of New Bremen; a sister and her husband, Mildred and Lester Kinninger, Sidney; three sisters, Loretta Schulze, Sidney, Esther Smith, Dayton, and Viola Sitzman, Dayton; two brothers and their wives, Robert and Evelyn Geise, and Charles and Ruth Geise, all of Coldwater; a sister-in-law and her husband, Nothburga and Butch Geise, Coldwater; a stepsister and her husband, Jose and Robert Knapke, Coldwater; and 10 grandchildren.
 Deceased are three brothers.
 She was a self-employed cookware salesperson, and a member of St. John Catholic Church and its Ladies Sodality, Maria Stein.

Agnes Gasson
 Agnes J. Gasson, 85, 1302 E. Spring St., Apt. 28, St. Marys, died at 4 a.m. April 1 at St. Marys Living Center.
 She was born Oct. 13, 1915, in Shelby County, to Louis and Marguerite (Ayette) Chappie. On Dec. 7, 1940, she married George Gasson, who died May 10, 1959.
 Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Eddie Chappie, Covington, and Kate Chappie, Piqua.
 Deceased are three sisters, Sister Mary Raymund Chappie, Alma Grisez, and Mary Chappie, and three brothers, Louis, Urban and Adrian Chappie.
 She was a homemaker and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys.

Agnes Brumm
 Former Fort Recovery resident Agnes ‘Marie’ Brumm, 93, 6550 E. State Route 26, Portland, Ind., died at 12:55 a.m. April 5 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
 She was born March 8, 1908, in Salamonia, Ind., to Charles and Minnie (Atkinson) Jetter. On June 26, 1933, she married Luther Brumm, who died July 2, 1985.
 Survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Joyce and Alvin Alig, St. Henry, and Marilyn and Larry ‘Butch’ Acheson, Portland, Ind.; a son and his wife, Noel and Karen of Danville, Ind.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
 Deceased is a sister, Onda Stump.
 She and her husband owned and operated the former Brumm Market, and she was employed at the former Peoples Bank, both in Fort Recovery. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star 111, Fort Recovery, and attended the former United Church of Christ, Fort Recovery.
 Services are 3 p.m. Sunday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Richard Bailey officiating. Burial is at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.

Rev. Ralph Corbin
 Rev. Ralph W. Corbin, 83, 215 N. Wayne St., Mendon, died at 4:45 a.m. April 4 at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
 He was born Jan. 13, 1918, in Wharton, to Curtis and Grace (Wise) Corbin. On June 10, 1939, he married Kathryn Eileen Wehrle, who died Dec. 30, 1981. On Jan. 15, 1986, he married Deloris Hudson, who survives.
 Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Francis J. and Linda of Marion, and Rev. Donald B. and Janice of Graytown; a daughter and her husband, Anita L. and Wayne Dickason, Middleburg, Fla.; a stepson and his wife, Ronald and Marla Bare, Fostoria; two stepsons, John Bare, Stout, and Lewis Hudson Jr. of Ohio; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Evelyn and Mark Teeple, Angola, Ind., Bonnie and David Adams, Mendon, and Alice and Jim Stone, Stout; a stepdaughter, Karen Bare, Danville; a brother and his wife, Bert and Betty of Wharton; a sister, Mildred Zehfus, Marblehead; 10 grandchildren, 40 stepgrandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 36  stepgreat-grandchildren.
 Deceased are three brothers, Alva, Ira and Wilbur, and two sisters, Florence Vogel and Golda Boose.
 He was a retired minister from Churches of God in Ohio and Pennsylvania, and was also retired from Society Bank. He was a lifetime member of Church of God in Wharton, and a member of Mount Tabor Church of God, Celina.
 Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the Celina church, the Revs. Rick Mason, Richard VanHorn, and Robert Eatherton officiating. Cremation will follow the service and burial will be held at a later date at Wharton Cemetery.
 Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Mendon, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Natalie Shinn
 Natalie Rene Shinn, daughter of Douglas and Nancy (Briner) Shinn, 5097 Wabash Road, Coldwater, was stillborn at 3:05 a.m. April 3 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
 Other survivors include two brothers, Eric and Nathan Thompson; three sisters, Elicia, Nicole and Elaina Thompson; grandparents, Jerome and Cynthia Briner, Fort Recovery, Phyllis and Richard Ryan, Greenville, and Marjorie Shinn, Celina; and great-grandmother, Edith Briner, Fort Recovery.
 Deceased is grandfather, James Shinn.
 Private graveside services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Celina, the Rev. Kathleen Hayes officiating.
 There will be no visitation.

Arthur Wickelman
 Arthur ‘Art’ Wickelman, 92, died at 8:25 p.m. March 31 at Community Care Center West, Portland, Ind.
 He was born July 4, 1908, in Jay County, Ind., to John and Elizabeth (Ritz) Wickelman. On Aug. 6, 1946, he married Loretta K. Homer, who died July 4, 1989.
 Survivors are two sons, Paul and Howard, both of Portland, Ind.; a sister and her husband, Rose and Harold Schieltz, Coldwater; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a daughter, four brothers and four sisters.
 He was a retired farmer and was a barber at New Corydon, Ind. he was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bryant, Ind., Catholic Order of Foresters, and Tri State Engine Association.
 Services were held Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Richard Reinhard officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Lloyd Leugers
 Lloyd ‘Louie’ Leugers, 78, 14741 County Road 66A, St. Marys, died April 5 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
 He was born March 12, 1923, in Celina, to Henry and Nellie (Schwartz) Leugers. On Nov. 20, 1946, he married Ruth Pax, who survives.
 Other survivors are two sons and their wives, John and Lucinda of St. Marys, and Jerry and Pat of Fairfax Station, Va.; two daughters and their husbands, Theresa and Charles Rowen, New Knoxville, and Patricia and Frank Pertz, Perrysburg; a daughter, Mary Jo of Richmond, Va.; a brother and his wife, Robert and Marlene of Celina; a brother, Melvin; a sister, Betty Agler, Celina; 13 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
 He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St. Marys, and was a self-employed carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Special Forces in North Africa and Europe during World War II. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, and the Legion of Mary.
 Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. David Heinl officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
 Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Margaret Coil
 Margaret Y. Coil, 78, 3601 Ohio 703E, Lot 5, Celina, died at 10:05 p.m. April 4 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
 She was born Oct. 20, 1922, in South Bend, Ind., to Maurice and Anna (Sparks) Jones. On Aug. 23, 1944, she married Elmer R. Coil, who died Dec. 29, 1990.
 Survivors are two sons, Douglas H. of Cary, Ill., and Bruce R. of McHenry, Ill.; a daughter, Kathleen J. Good, Celina; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a sister, Naoma Gregory, and two brothers, Keith and Thane Jones.
 She was a retired medical secretary in Blue Island, Ill., and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliaries, and Women of the Moose Lodge, Welcome Wagon, all of Celina. She was a volunteer for the Cancer Society and Celina Senior Citizens Center. She was also a member of Lions Club in Cadiz, Ky.
 There will be no services or calling.
 Burial will be held at Hurricane Cemetery, Cadiz, Ky.

Lawrence Bockrath
 Lawrence ‘Bill’ Bockrath, 71, was found dead April 5 at his residence at 5209 Mason Road, Fort Loramie.
 He was born Nov. 27, 1929, in St. Marys, to Lawrence Sr. and Bonnie (Shimp) Bockrath. On Jan. 15, 1962, he married Linda Barnhill, who survives.
 Other survivors are five sons and their wives, Jerry and Rose of Spencerville, Dave and Deb of Sidney, Allen and Carrie of Fort Loramie, Robert and Joyce of Sidney, and Larry and Belinda of St. Marys; five sons, Tom of Kentucky, Bruce of Maria Stein, Gary of Fort Loramie, Mark and Danny, both of Sidney; five daughters, Linda of Delphos, Debbie of Sidney, Mary and Molly, both of Sidney, and Cindy of Fort Loramie; a sister, Mary Lou Havener, Piqua; 31 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are two granddaughters.
 He was retired from Shelby County Mental Health Clinic and had worked as a truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
 Private family services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Louise Arnold
 Louise A. Arnold, 79, 701 Lake Ave., St. Marys, died at 7:45 a.m. April 6 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
 She was born May 22, 1921, in St. Marys, to Louis and Rose (Fenneman) Lininger. On May 24, 1941, she married Raymond C. Arnold, who died Sept. 21, 1991.
 Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Barbara Ann and Tom Knous, St. Marys; a son and his wife, Edward and Tammy of Celina; a son, Scott of St. Marys; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are five sisters, Gladys Pohlman, Mary Wieman, Helen Sullivan, LaVera and Leona Lininger, and seven brothers, Wilbur, Charles, Harold, Fred, Edward, William and George Lininger.
 She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, St. Marys.

Stephen Bailey
 Stephen Wayne Bailey, 41, of Elida, died of natural causes at 7:58 a.m. April 6 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
 He was born Aug. 13, 1959, in Lima, to Wayne E. and Regina (Benny) Bailey, both whom survive in Lima. On Nov. 26, 1980, he married Lisa Ann Ridenour, who survives.
 Other survivors are two sons, Travis Michael and Nicholas Lloyd, both at home; a brother and his wife, Jeffrey and Karin of State College, Pa.; a brother, Rick of Lima; two sisters and their husbands, Vicky and Wes Starkey, and Sherri and Steven Maurer, all of Lima; and a sister, Stephanie Butler, Wauseon.
 He was a service technician for Apria Healthcare and was a former employee of Lima Medical Supply. He was a member of Marion Baptist Church, Delphos, and a 1977 graduate of Bath High School in Lima.
 Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Jay Lobach officiating. Burial is at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

J. Wilson Monnin
 J. Wilson Monnin, 85, 167 E. Fifth St., Minster, died at 6:20 a.m. Friday at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
 He was born June 25, 1915, in Russia, to Leonard and Winifred (Francis) Monnin. On June 24, 1939, he married Violet Marshall, who survives.
 Other survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Ron Eiting, Minster, and Rose and Dale Marchal, Englewood; six sons and their wives, Ken and Janet, Tony and Judy, Vic and Wanda, Lenny and Diane, and Mike and Connie, all of Russia, and Wilson and Peggy of Sidney; a son, Dan of Sidney; two sisters and their husbands, Gertrude and Jacob Martin, Piqua, and Marcella and Bill Dunkel, Russia; a sister, Mary Ann Simon, Versailles; two brothers and their wives, Stanley and Judy of Cincinnati, and Dave and Sandy of South Carolina; a brother, Cecil of Versailles; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

 Kenneth W. Spahr, 89, 1024 Washington Ave., Greenville, died at 8:25 a.m. April 6 at Heartland Nursing Home, Greenville.
 He was born April 4, 1912, in Burkettsville, to Greely and Myrtle (Spillers) Spahr. He was married to Ellen L. Swank, who died Feb. 13, 1995.
 Survivors are two sons and their wives, James R. and Alice of Celina, and Wayne L. and Sheila of Greenville; a brother, Charles of Pitsburg; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are four brothers and four sisters.
 He was retired from Frigidaire, Dayton, and was a member of the Church of the Brethren.

 James K. Agler, 81, 727 Prospect Ave., Van Wert, died at 8:10 p.m. April 7 at Van Wert County Hospital.
 He was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Van Wert County, to James Wellington and Gayle Ann (Yocum) Agler. On Aug. 14, 1941, he married Becky Putman, who survives.
 Other survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Cheryl Joan and Tom Compton, Troy, and Barbara Ann and Bud Reed, Van Wert; and four grandchildren.
 He was retired as an agent for Western-Southern Life Insurance Co., and was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1320, both of Van Wert, and Van Wert Lodge No. 218 F.&A.M. He was a 1938 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School.

  George Belna, 83, of Rockford, died at 5:05 a.m. April 7 at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
 He was born March 21, 1918, in Burnham, Ill., to John and Mary (Skibo) Belna. On Dec. 27, 1954, he married Elizabeth J. Barna, who survives.

 He was retired as an ironworker at Martin, Inc., Fort Wayne, Ind., and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Rockford.

 Other survivors are a daughter and her husband, Jean and Gordon Coffin, New Bremen; two sisters and their husbands, Bernice and Albert Houts, New Bremen, and Shirley and Laverne Pax, Pickerington; a brother and his wife, Rodney and Rowena of Cambridge City, Ind., and a brother, Carrol of St. Marys; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy of Anna, Marie of St. Marys, Dorothea Wierwille, New Knoxville, and Evelyn Thatcher, Van Wert; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are two brothers, Paul and Orville, and a sister, Beverly Moeller.
 He was a retired truck driver at Airstream Corp., Jackson Center, and a former employee of Stamco in New Bremen. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was awarded the Battle Star, Oak Leaf Cluster and Purple Heart, after he was wounded serving in the infantry in France and Germany. He was a member of First United Church of Christ and American Legion Post 444, where he served as Post Chaplain, both New Knoxville.

 She was born Dec. 28, 1905, in St. Marys, to Wesley and Margaret (Stewart) Gayer. On Oct. 2, 1926, she married Ernest H. Hirn, who died Sept. 7, 1982.
 Survivors are a son and his wife, Paul and Vivian of St. Marys, and a son, Clyde of Pretoria, South Africa; two daughters and their husbands, Margaret and Don Baker, Spencerville, and Eloise and Lewis Hubble, Bradley, Ill.; two sisters, Laverne Worrell, Bakersfield, Calif., and Ada Gayer, St. Marys; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis of Mendon; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a son, Glen, a brother, Raymond Gayer, and a sister, Esther King.
 She was a homemaker and a member of Mendon United Methodist Church. She was a 1927 graduate of Lima Business College, and a 1925 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.

 Word has been received of the death of former Celina resident Delbert E. Bradford, 67, on April 4 at his residence in Downey, Calif.
 He was born July 3, 1933, to Glenn and Violet Bradford. On Sept. 19, 1955, he married Savella Bauer, who survives.
 Other survivors are two daughters, Kathy and Toni, and a son, Jay.
 A daughter, Candy, is deceased.
 His parents owned the former Bradford Brothers Master Market. He was a Celina Senior High School graduate.

 Amber Kay Baird, 55, died of natural causes at 8:51 p.m. April 8 at her residence at 627 S. Harrison St., Van Wert.
 She was born Dec. 7, 1945, in Celina, to Charles Edward and Margarete Alice (Cotterman) Ward. On Jan. 11, 1964, she married Lawrence J. Baird, who survives.
 Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Lawrence J.  He was born in Celina to Robert and Patricia (Heckler) Hay, both whom survive in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. He was married to Linda Homan, who survives.
 Other survivors are three daughters, Kristy, Katie and Carrie, all of Lexington; a sister, Cathy Hay Collier, Akron; and a brother, Michael of Celina.
 He was a civil engineer for FMSM Civil Engineering and was a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Lexington, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.

 Survivors are three sons and their wives, Nick and Deb of Celina, Steve and Joyce of Coldwater, and Andy and Deb of St. Marys; a daughter and her husband, Donna and Ron Heitkamp, Coldwater; a brother, Anthony Joseph Cipollone, Celina; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

 She was born Dec. 30, 1906, in Jersey, Ga., to David Augustus Newton and Sally (Powell) Thomas. On March 18, 1933, she married Preston S. Nix who is deceased.
 Survivors are a son and his wife, Richard T. and Linda of Baxley, Ga.; two daughters and their husband, Nancy E. and Ernest Bartlett, Cumming, Ga., and Carolyn R. and W. Michael, Celina, and a daughter, Martha A. Beckum, Forsyth, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
 She is the last surviving sibling of 11 children; deceased are a son, a daughter, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
 She was retired from Hurt & Quinn Insurance Co., Atlanta, Ga.

 Randy J. Schroer, 41, 705 Lilac St., Coldwater, died of natural causes at 8:56 p.m. Nov. 29, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
 He was born Aug. 21, 1960, in Coldwater, to Joseph H. and Loretta (Roessner) Schroer. His mother survives  in Coldwater.
 Other survivors are three sisters and their wives, Cindy and Gary Schmiesing, Portland, Ind., Brenda and Chuck Smith, Rockford, and Melissa and John Hilgeford, Cassella; and several nieces and nephews.
 He had worked at the former Huffy Bicycle Corp. in Celina, and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater.

 She was born March 27, 1961, in Celina to Robert L. Ballinger and Marilyn (Rogers) Ballinger-Lauth. Her mother survives in Sebring, Fla., along with the stepfather, Ron Lauth.
 Surviving are her husband, Lynn Medaugh; eight sons, Jeff Schott Jr., Chicago, Ill., Tom, Matt and Derrick Schott, all of Celina; Chad and Brad, both of Dayton, and Eric and Keith, both of Celina; a brother and his wife, Donald and Shelly Ballinger, Coldwater; one sister and her husband, Kimberly and Craig Tingley, and a sister, Melody Mouser, all of Celina; two stepbrothers and their wives, Craig and Renee Lauth, St. Marys, and Brent and Charla Lauth, New Knoxville; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Reana and Eric Onnen, Fort Wayne, Ind., and a sister-in-law, Ynda Roth, Toledo.
 Deceased are her father, Robert L. Ballinger and her brother, Dan Ballinger.

Vernon Schnarre
 Vernon F. ‘Sonny’ Schnarre, 77, 425 Parker St., St. Marys, died at 9 a.m. Dec. 2 at his son’s residence in Montpelier. He had been ill for some time.
 He was born Jan. 28, 1924, in St. Marys, to Vernon Sr. and Martha (Hilgeman) Schnarre. On Aug. 24, 1947, he married Elizabeth Louise Dicke and she died Jan. 6, 1979.
 Surviving are a son and his wife, Stephen and Elaine of Montpelier; a daughter, Sharon of Toledo; a sister, Wilma Kuenning, Celina; two granddaughters and two stepgrandchildren.
 Deceased are a brother, John, and a sister, Roberta Oxtender.
 He retired as a machinist from Parker-Hannifin Corp., St. Marys. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran, flying more than 50 combat missions as a tailgunner over the European Theatre during World War II. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and the Men’s Garden Club, both of St. Marys. He also judged numerous flower shows in the area.
 Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

 She was born Nov. 3, 1906, in Celina, to Oscar and Rebecca (Barley) Browder. On Nov. 24, 1923, she married Herman Vagedes and he died March 16, 1982.
 Surving are two sons and their wives, Thomas and Gloria Vagedes and Charles and Carol Kirk, all of Coldwater; two daughters and their husbands, Charline and Victor S. May, New Weston, and Eleanor and Leo Berning, Maria Stein; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are three brothers, five sisters, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
 She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony, the Altar-Rosary Sodality of the church, Knights of St. John Auxiliary, Maria Stein, and the Community Hospital Respiratory Association, Coldwater.

 Former Celina resident C. Kenneth Weir, 86, 2414 Sandlewood Lane, Orange City, Fla., died at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 1 at his residence.
 He was born July 7, 1915, in Celina, to Henry C. and Della (Searight) Weir. On Aug. 17, 1947, he married Mary Ann Shiverdecker and she survives.
 Also surviving are a daughter and her husband, Mindy and Dean Heyne, and a daughter, Lugene Homan, all of Centerville; and two grandchildren.
 Deceased are a son-in-law, Ronald Homan, and a brother, George.
 He retired from Mersman Brothers, Celina, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and a life member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Loyal Order of the Moose, all of Celina. He had received the Pilgrim Degree from the Moose.
 Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Donald Ramsey officiating. Burial will be at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
 Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Delorius Beemer
 Delorius M. Beemer, 80, 221 Norton St., Rossburg, died Dec. 3 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
 She was born July 18, 1921, in Darke County, to John and Virgie (Zeller) Rodeheffer. Her husband, William R. Beemer, died April 18, 1981.
 Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Thelma and Don Loxley, Greenville, and Joyce and Arthur Stukenborg, St. Henry; a brother, Daniel Rodeheffer, Sidney; three sisters, Dora Howard, Greenville, Dorsa McCullough, Versailles, and Delma Shepherd, Union City, Ind.; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a brother, David Rodeheffer, and four sisters, Delcie Moody, Dortha Braymeier, Deffie Miley and Desta Anthony.
 She retired from the Lambert Corp., Ansonia, and attended Rossburg United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Versailles.
 Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Oliver Funeral Home, Greenville, the Rev. Ed Brown officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
 Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Charles Ellis
 Former Celina resident Charles D. Ellis, 77, 3704 Coachman Drive, Carmel, Ind., died at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Sunrise of Carmel nursing home.
 He was born June 29, 1924, in Cincinnati, to Charles O. and Helen (Sacher) Ellis. On Aug. 30, 1947, he married Elaine Fanning and she survives.
 Also surviving are a son and his wife, Matthew and Carrie of Delray Beach, Fla.; a daughter and her husband, Joie and Daniel Mader, Carmel; a brother and his wife, James and Del, Kissimmee, Fla; a sister and her husband, Marjorie and Luke Dabbelt, Wapakoneta; and a grandson.
 He retired as industrial manager with Huffy Manufacturing Co. in Celina and Richmond, Ind., after 20 years. He then became general manager of Michigan State Industries in Jackson, Mich., retiring in 1989 after 12 years. He then became active in the Indianapolis Wing of the Confederate Air Force, restoring vintage aircraft. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II, and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Carmel.
 Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Revs. Ted Rothrock and Fred Schroeder officiating. Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
 Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina.
 Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the educational endowment fund of the church.

Richard Elson
 Richard ‘Dick’ Graham Elson, 82, of Sedona, Ariz., the husband of a former Celina woman, died Nov. 25 at his residence.
 He was born Nov. 7, 1919, in Malvern, Ohio, to Walter Roy Elson and D. Louise Graham. In 1960, he married Celina resident Marjorie Adams and she survives.
 Also surviving are a son, Rick A. of Sedona; and four daughters, Ellen Elson Segler, Brownwood, Texas, Sandra Elson Slemmer, Winsted, Conn., Deborah Elson Goode, Riverside, Calif., and Cynthia Elson Cunningham, Cornville, Ariz.
 Deceased is a son, William.
 He graduated from Kentucky Military Institute in 1937 and attended Ohio State University. He initially worked in sales in the printing industry. In 1970, he and his wife opened Elson’s, a housewares store, and sold the business in 1979. After traveling for a number of years, they opened The Quilter’s Store and Gallery in 1992. He served on the board of the Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona for many years.
 Services were held Saturday at the church, the Rev. George Ault officiated.
 Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the North Arizona Region Alzheimer’s Association.

Eloise Kemp
 Eloise L. Kemp, 79, of Spencerville, died at 6:13 p.m. Dec. 2 at Lima Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
 She was born July 23, 1922, in Lima, to Nathan J. and Lela Alice (Springer) Barnes. In December 1939, she married William Edwin Witherow and he died in October 1962. On April 11, 1966, she married Donald D. Kemp and he died April 8, 1986.
 Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Raymond Harruff, Spencerville, Carla and Pat Bayman, currently of St. Marys and formerly of Celina, and Geri and Ted Roberts, Van Wert, and two daughters, Diane Joseph, Delphos, and Tracy Henman, Lima; a stepson and his wife, Michael and Marjke, The Netherlands; a stepdaughter and her husband, Cheryl and Mick McFadyen, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister and her husband, Ruth Ann and Richard Brownell, Lima; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
 Deceased are a sister, Clara Jean Thomas, and a great-grandchild.
 She was a homemaker and had served as a volunteer for the heart and cancer funds. She attended Spencerville High School.
 Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Barry McCune officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
 Calling is 7-9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday  at the funeral home.

Arlington Rose
 Arlington M. Rose, 79, 241 Fairlawn Drive, Celina, died at 11:45 a.m. Dec. 3 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
 He was born June 26, 1922, in St. Sebastian, to John and Elizabeth (Falke) Rose. On Sept. 1, 1948, he married Florentine H. Evers and she survives.
 Also surviving are two sons and their wives, David and Chris of Wooster and Rick and Teresa of Celina, and a son, Larry of Texas; a daughter and her husband, Lois Ann and Donald Baumer, Minster, and a daughter, Marlene Stephenson, Celina; a sister, Dolores Scott, Granite City, Ill.; a brother-in-law and his wife, Cyril and Phyllis Evers, St. Henry; a sister-in-law, Mary Helen, New Bremen; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
 Deceased are two brothers, Arthur and Raphael, and two sisters, Alfreda Schoenlein and Mildred Haubert.
 He was a retired farmer, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1800 of Celina and a former member of the Holy Name Society and Mercer County Farm Bureau.
 Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Revs. Richard R. Riedel and James C. Seibert officiating. Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
 Calling is 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.
 Contributions can be made to the Education Endowment Fund of the church.

Christina Medaugh
 Christina Joan Medaugh, 40, 332 Northview Drive, Coldwater, died of natural causes Dec. 1 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
 She was born March 27, 1961, in Celina to Robert L. Ballinger and Marilyn (Rogers) Ballinger-Lauth. Her mother survives in Sebring, Fla., along with the stepfather, Ron Lauth.
 Surviving are her husband, Lynn Medaugh; eight sons, Jeff Schott Jr., Chicago, Ill., Tom, Matt and Derrick Schott, all of Celina; Chad and Brad Medaugh, both of Dayton, and Eric and Keith Medaugh, both of Celina; a brother and his wife, Donald and Shelly Ballinger, Coldwater; one sister and her husband, Kimberly and Craig Tingley, and a sister, Melody Mouser, all of Celina; two stepbrothers and their wives, Craig and Renee Lauth, St. Marys, and Brent and Charla Lauth, New Knoxville; two stepsisters and their husbands, Teri and Joe Lesher, New Bremen, and Tami and Stan Sanford, St. Marys; a sister-in-law and her husband, Reana and Eric Onnen, Fort Wayne, Ind., and a sister-in-law, Ynda Roth, Toledo.
 Deceased is a brother, Dan Ballinger.
 She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
 Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
 Calling is 4-8 p.m. today at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. There is no calling Wednesday morning prior to the service.

Scott Schindler
 Former Celina resident Scott Ryan Schindler, 39, Fort Wayne, Ind., died Nov. 27 at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, of injuries sustained in a traffic accident that occurred the previous night in Fort Wayne.
 He was born Jan. 19, 1962, in Celina, to Marion and Betty (Smith) Schindler. They survive in Celina.
 Also surviving are a brother and his wife, Ted and Beth of Columbus; a sister, Brenda Webb, Fort Wayne; and a fiancee, Jenny Kanning, Fort Wayne.
 He had served as associate pastor and minister of music at Blackhawk Baptist Church in Fort Wayne for 17 years. He was director of the Living Christmas Tree program at the church, director of the Praise Teams and Worship Choir,  music director for the Worldwide Youth for Christ Convention in Taiwan, coordinator of the Creative Arts Leadership Team and a clinician for the Choral Directors’ Workshop. He also led a mission trip to Russia. He was a 1983 graduate of the Wright State University-Lake Campus, Celina, and a 1986 graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College.
 Services were 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with graveside services taking place at 3 p.m. at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
 D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, had charge of arrangements.
