James K. Agler
James K. Agler, 81, 727 Prospect Ave., Van Wert, died at 8:10 p.m. April 7 at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Van Wert County, to James Wellington and Gayle Ann (Yocum) Agler. On Aug. 14, 1941, he married Becky Putman, who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Cheryl Joan and Tom Compton, Troy, and Barbara Ann and Bud Reed, Van Wert; and four grandchildren.
He was retired as an agent for Western-Southern Life Insurance Co., and was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1320, both of Van Wert, and Van Wert Lodge No. 218 F.&A.M. He was a 1938 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Revs. Raymond E. Feeck and Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial is at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling is after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. [Apr 9, 2001]
William Henry Ahlers
St Henry - Funeral services were held in St. Henry Catholic church Monday morning, Rev. Henry Hess offering the requiem high mass, for William Henry Ahlers, 58, farmer of one mile north of here, who died in Otis hospital, Celina from effects of a stroke suffered 48 hours before, after 13 years of ailing health. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
He married Mary Regina Ebbing at Coldwater, June 12, 1918, and she survives together with children, Bartel, Stanley, Miss Mary Lou and Paul, all at home; two brothers, Ralph Ahlers, former deputy sheriff now of St. Marys; Leo, Reading, O.; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Depweg, Coldwater; Mrs. Henry Depweg, Dayton, and Mrs. John Bertke, Carthagena. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of the St. Henry church congregation. [Lima News, Aug 7, 1944]
Frances Matilda Alspaugh
ROCKFORD - Mrs. Frances Matilda Alspaugh, 96, of Rt 2, Rockford, died at 1:45 a. m. today in her home. She was born Oct. 10, 1874, in Auglaize County, the daughter of John and Christine (Schimp) Witter. She married John W. Alspaugh in October of 1912. He preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1942.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Buchanan, at home. Miss Marjorie Alspaugh and Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Botkin both of St Marys; a brother. Tona Witter of Pinevllle, La.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday in the Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery . Friends may call in the funeral home after 3 pm. Tuesday. [Van Wert Times Bulletin, Apr 9, 1973]
Louise A. Arnold
Louise A. Arnold, 79, 701 Lake Ave., St. Marys, died at 7:45 a.m. April 6 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born May 22, 1921, in St. Marys, to Louis and Rose (Fenneman) Lininger. On May 24, 1941, she married Raymond C. Arnold, who died Sept. 21, 1991.
Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Barbara Ann and Tom Knous, St. Marys; a son and his wife, Edward and Tammy of Celina; a son, Scott of St. Marys; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five sisters, Gladys Pohlman, Mary Wieman, Helen Sullivan, LaVera and Leona Lininger, and seven brothers, Wilbur, Charles, Harold, Fred, Edward, William and George Lininger.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia G. Minnick officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Ruby F. Ashcraft
Ruby F. Ashcraft, 72, died at 10:50 a.m. Thursday in Coldwater Community Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Wanda) Beougher of here and Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Schleucher of Findlay, four grandchildren; a great-grandchild and two sisters.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at W.H. Dick and Sons Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Tomliimson Cemetery, near Rockford.
