Coldwater - Bernard Uppenkamp, 89, Philothea, retired farmer, died Saturday night at Gibbons Hospital in Celina.
A native of Germany, he came to this country at the age of 14. His wife, the former Anna Langenhoff, died in 1937.
He is survived by two sons, Alois of Botkins, Leo of Wapakoneta; four daughters, Mrs. John Abels, Mrs, Arthur Luken, Coldwater, and Mrs. Ed Ahlers of St. Henry; Mrs. Andrew Klikovits of Sidney; a sister, Mrs. Hubert Wimmers of Cincinnati; 24 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the St. Marys Catholic Church in Philothea.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the St. Marys Church, Rev. W. E. Schmidt will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
