Obit: Hannah M Floyd, daughter of John and Rebecca Floyd, was born in Belmont country, OH, Sept 15, 1848; died Dec 16, 1919, aged 71 years, 3 months and 1 day. She was united in marriage to Wm. H Singree October 1879, and to this union were born four children, Callie L. wife of Ivan R. Barnes, who proceded her to the spirit land six years ago; Jessie R., wife of Wm. O. Barnes, with whom the deceased made her home; Charles H Singree, of Aline, OK. and Freddie L. Singree of near Unionville, OH. She has a brother, Steele Floyd of Black Hawk, CO. Besides the avove she leaves 13 grandchildren. She united with the Carmel M. E. church when a girl and had remained in that faith unitl death called her, When she was four years old she moved with her parents to Noble county, remaining there unitl she was 16, then removed to Morgan county, where she had since resided.

She was greatly attached to her home and ? ? ? ? ? delight in administering to the wants of those who were near and dear to her. She was greatly attached to one grandchild, Mrs. Beulah B. Betz of Newark, OH, whom she had keep in her home and cared for since a babe. She had retained her health and mind to a wonderful degree. Owing to the amount of trails and troubles that had been her lot in the last few years, having lost her husband 14 years ago, and then her home and other belongings in the 1913 flood, yet never faltering, but trusting in a higher power, she was contented to await her Master's call. She had just lain down on the cot to rest, and whithout a murmur or struggle passed peacefully away to awake in realms of endless bliss.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Warne of McConnelsville. Interment was made at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. In this connection the childred and grandchildren which to thank friends and neighbors for assistance; Rev. Warne for his comforting remarks; the choir for the music; friends for flowers, and all who showed kindness in any way.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rebecca J. Scott, 77, who died Sunday afternoon at her home in Young Hickory, Morgan county following a lengthy illness will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Scott was a lifelong resident of the community where she died. Her husband died in 1922. She was a member of the Lyttleburg Methodist church. The deceased is survived by four sons, H. J. Scott, principal of  South Zanesville high school; Earl D. Scott, of the home, and Charles and Everett Scott of Muskingum avenue, this city; a daughter Mrs. Earl Flowers, Indiana street; three sisters, Mrs. William Camp, Eppley avenue; Mrs. William Cooper of  Zeno, and Mrs. Alva Hill, of Knight, O., and 14 grandchildren. The Tom funeral home, Cumberland, is in charge.

Obit: George W. Underwood of McConnelsville Dies At 98

McConnelsville - In 52 years, George W. Underwood never missed a Sunday attending services at Main Street Church of Christ in his home town of McConnelsville.

Yesterday (21 Jul), Mr. Underwood died at the age of 98 at the Mark Rest Home in McConnelsville where he had been a patient for two months. A native of Lewistown, Ill., he was born May 31, 1866, a son of Jehovah and Sarah Underwood. He was a retired plasterer and cabinet maker. Mr. Underwood is survived by a nephew, Delmar Finley of McConnelsville.

His wife, the former Anna Ashdon, died in 1946.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Main Street Church of Christ with Charles Wingfield officiating. Burial will be in Meigs Cemetery, Morgan County. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service. Friends may call at Fisher Funeral Home here from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today.

(Note:George's wife, the former Anna Ashdon is also buried in the same cemetery. Her name is listed as "Nettie".)
