Earthquake

A very sensible shock of an earthquake was experienced by many of the citizens of this county last Saturday week.  The report came from the west, and we have been told that in some places it was so severe that it broke the glass in the windows.  It was between ten and eleven o’clock in the morning, and the day was remarkably clear.  Some years ago, earthquakes were quite common along the Mississippi, and the explosion of which we now peak, was probably there also.
