Boy Lost.....John Hauck, son of Isaac Houck, of Hopewell township this city (Seneca) left home Wednesday October 12 in a state of mental derangement. he was traveling to Findlay and thence to Gilboa where all trace was lost. Delphos Boy, 12, Rescues 2 From Canal Waters
Delphos - When Fay Diehl, 13, and Edward Ernst, 14, dropped thru the ice into the waters of the Miami & Erie canal here, Lucien Diehl, 12, ran to the rescue. Ernst went under twice before the youthful hero pulled him to shore. The pair were after a glass vase frozen in the ice, which failed under their weight. [The Lima News - Jan 3, 1929]
