| The Lima News - Jan 3, 1929 Delphos Delphos Boy, 12, Rescues 2 From Canal Waters When Fay Diehl, 13, and Edward Ernst, 14, dropped thru the ice into the waters of the Miami & Erie canal here, Lucien Diehl, 12, ran to the rescue. Ernst went under twice before the youthful hero pulled hime to shore. The pair were after a glass vase frozen in the ice, which failed under their weight. |

| The Lima News Jan 7, 1937 Columbus Grove Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Palmer, who have lived within a half mile of the community most of their lives, will observe their 53rd wedding anniversary Sunday. Because of ill health of the widely known residents, the event will be marked without ceremony. Mrs. Palmer, who before her marriage was Miss Mary A. Feathergall, was born Nov. 30, 1864. Her husband celebrated his 74th birthday last Tuesday. The couple was married in Columbus Grove. The Palmers have four children, one son living in Lima, another in Columbus grove and a third resides on a farm east of here. A daughter makes her home in Tippencanoe City. They have 26 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. |
| From the Tucson Citizen Jan. 17, 1908 Ottawa, O., Jan 17- Miss Sara Pope, aged 50 years, and living on her farm five miles south of here, committed suicide today by hanging herself in the barn. Miss Pope one of the wealthiest women in this county, and had managed her own farm for years. She was consumptive and had often spoken to her friends of ending her life.

| From The Inner Ocean Aug. 2, 1875 Ottawa, O., Aug. 1- Mrs. J. W. Douglass, of Kalida, in this county, committed suicide last Thursday night, by taking morphine. Domestic trouble is the supposed cause. She left one infant child five months old. |
| Van Wert Times Jul 8, 1974 Paulding, Oh Anna E. Klingler, 61, of Paulding was pronounced dead on arrival at Paulding County Hospital at 8:45 p.m. Saturday. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack. Born Jan. 4, 1913, in Paulding, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Hutchins) Chester. Her husband Alva, survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Shirley Reece, Mrs. Louisa Sinn and Mrs. Beverly Oskey, all of Paulding, and Mrs. Sharon Patterson of Oklahoma City, Okla., a son, Burl of Paulding; a sister, Mildred Rowley of Hudson, Mich., two brothers, Carl, of Paulding and Harry of Payne; 12 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Crowell-DenHerder Funeral Home, Paulding, with the Rev. John Huchies officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery. Van Wert Times Aug 16, 1972 Paulding, Oh Mrs. Ilene Klingler, 85, of Paulding was found dead at her home Tuesday. Death was attriibuted to an apparent heart attack on Monday. A native of Paulding County, she was born April 4, 1887, daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth (Zinsmaster) Morrow. She was a member of the Paulding Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Darlene Slane of Archbold and Mrs. Ladean Osborn of Ft. Wayne; two sons Dwight of Deming, N. M., and Duane of Paulding; a sister, Miss Joy Morrow and a brother Harry, both of Paulding; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several stepchildren and step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John, who died in 1960. Two brothers and a sister are also deceased. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Paulding Church of the Nazarenewith Rev. John Dodds officiating. Burial in St. Paul Cemetery. Van Wert Times |

| Lima Daily News Apr 11, 1912 Ottawa- Homer Sackett, 75, old soldier, died at his home in this city, Tuesday evening of pneumonia. He is survived by two daughters. The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. Short services at the house, followed by one at Riley Creek Church. |
