Elmer L. Valentine, of 362 Arch Street, past commander of Wiedler Camp No. 48 United Spanish War Veterans, died at his residence at 6:25 PM Tuesday. Death was due to a heart ailment. A retired Miller, he was born at DeGaff, Ohio, October 20, 1878, the son of William and Estee Lippencott Valentine. He married Mrs. Kate Near, December 20, 1903. He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Miss Elizabeth Valentine, at home; three sons, Mr. Willard Valentine, Wilmette, Illinois, and Messrs, Glenn and Lyle Valentine, of Chillicothe; and five grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Mrs. Charles Valentine, of Springfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Matheson, of Galion, and Mrs. Charles Benstein, of Farmington, Michigan. Service will be conducted at Ware Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Friday, the Rev. of S.W. Rosenberger officiating. Intermittent will be in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
